Vampires Collecting Social Security

It’s remarkable how much disinformation Musk spreads. If I was a billionaire, I’d have better things to do with my time than trying to bullshit people. 😄 Elon is a fucking weirdo.
It's not just Musk...he just craves teh spotlight more than other. Virtually every other billionaire, with the possible exceptions of Warren Buffett and Sir Paul McCartney, have their own eccentric pet causes.

The latest generation of billionaires seem to have risen from "tech bro" backgrounds, which is a breeding ground for wild-eyed "This I believe!" conspiracy theories and is a hotbed of ADHD....never a good combination.

Side note: Since tech is the single biggest employer of ADHD men in America, if RFK gets his way and bans all mood inhibitor and anti-psychotic drugs used to help regulate ADHD sufferers....China takes over the world. American can no longer compete in that arena when we're reduced to having ADHD guys cope via nuts 'n berries 'n essential oils 'n (God forbid) regular exercise.

Anyway, Musk is bad but I'd argue Peter Thiel is worse. Peter Thiel (Paypal) controls JD Vance heart and soul, and is committed to a religion-free authoritarian world. Mark Andreessen (Mosaic, Linkedin, Skype) is also sus, he works towards a Bitcoin-based world where billionaires control finance. Scott Bessent (He ran George Soros' hedge fund) can probably do the most short term damage to America, he wants to replace income taxes with tariffs.

"Eligible" doesn't mean they are receiving benefits. Anyone over 62 is technically "eligible" for Social Security
People disappear off the face of the earth all the time, Social Security keeps them active until they receive confirmation of death

Again, this is a goofy distraction designed to keep low-information MAGAts clutching their pearls for a news cycle or two.

Jesus I feel secondhand embarrassment for Musk. He is really proving that he is not the genius behind his companies. He is just as mentally defective as the MAGAtards on this board.
Yeah sure. That's how be became the richest man on Earth, right. The mentally defective that gave you PayPal, Space X, Starlink, Reusable Rockets, free speech X, Tesla, The Boring Company, Electric Airplane, Hyperloop, co-founded OpenAI. You're about as dumb and inconsequential as they come.

We won't know who if those those numbers are active until the audit is completed

They're not gonna find but two or three cases of SS fraud nationwide. It won't save enough money to pay for the audit.

You're losing your shit, son. A simple search reveals a glimpse of what happens normally:

Social Security fraud encompasses various illicit activities, including identity theft, fraudulent benefit claims, and impersonation scams. These actions not only undermine the integrity of the Social Security system but also result in significant financial losses. Below are some notable instances and statistics highlighting the prevalence and impact of Social Security fraud:

Notable Cases of Social Security Fraud

  • Massive Disability Fraud Scheme: In 2014, a significant fraud case emerged in New York, where 106 defendants, including 80 former police and fire officials, were indicted for a scheme that defrauded the Social Security Disability Insurance program of hundreds of millions of dollars.

  • Attorney's $550 Million Fraud: Attorney Eric Conn orchestrated a $550 million Social Security fraud scheme, one of the largest in history. After fleeing to Honduras to evade capture, he was apprehended and sentenced to 15 years in prison.

  • Alaskan Woman's Fraudulent Claims: Jayel Jean Lane from Anchorage applied for Social Security benefits on behalf of a minor in 2013 and continued to receive benefits until 2022. She was sentenced to nine months in prison for stealing and misusing these benefits.

  • Exotic Dancer's False Disability Claims: Valencia D. Williams claimed she was so disabled by anxiety and depression that she couldn't work, receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits. In reality, she was employed as an exotic dancer under the name "Chrissy the Doll." She pleaded guilty to Social Security fraud.

Prevalence and Financial Impact

  • Improper Payments: Between fiscal years 2015 and 2022, the Social Security Administration (SSA) estimated nearly $72 billion in improper payments, primarily overpayments. As of the end of fiscal year 2023, the SSA had an uncollected overpayment balance of $23 billion.

  • Imposter Scams: In the first quarter of fiscal year 2024, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) received 33,072 reports of Social Security imposter scams, with total reported losses of approximately $71 million.

  • Active Social Security Numbers for Centenarians: A 2015 report revealed that there were 6.5 million active Social Security numbers for individuals aged 112 and older, despite only 13 of them being used to receive benefits.

Ongoing Efforts and Challenges

The Social Security Administration's Office of the Inspector General (SSA OIG) continues to combat fraud through public awareness campaigns and enforcement actions. In the first quarter of fiscal year 2024, the SSA mailed 127.6 million letters containing scam awareness messages to the public.

Despite these efforts, challenges persist. For instance, a 77-year-old man from Long Island, Wilfredo Pagan, has been unable to collect his Social Security benefits because the SSA erroneously believes he is deceased and a fraudster. This error has caused him significant emotional and financial distress.

Additionally, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), under Elon Musk's leadership, has intensified efforts to identify and eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse within federal programs, including Social Security. This initiative aims to save over a trillion dollars over ten years by addressing fraudulent activities, such as false tax returns filed by foreign nationals using fake identities.

While these measures are in place, the complexity and scale of Social Security fraud require continuous vigilance and adaptation to emerging fraudulent schemes.

Ahahahaha, you have no clue who they are, do you? The people he brought in there are genius level intellects running advanced data analytics and machine learning algorithms to identify discrepancies and potential waste. This is private sector levels of advanced efficiency analysis that's unknown to the government dopes still using floppy disks.
Lol...JFC......you are really that stupid.

genius level intellects; only musk, his band of tech bros, jim hoft and the board clown reich guide could possibly understand such big numbers. I only hope when musk finally sets off for Mars there’s a seat on board for reich guide.
Though on second thought that would be unfair on Mars.

Interestingly, Social Security knew and admitted about the 1875 anomalies and the bad data in their database.

"Government efficiency experts" deemed the problem too costly to fix (scrubbing the database), so they proposed a fairly simple rule: cut off all benefits to anyone listed older than 115.

Also worth noting that very few people over the age of 100 are collecting ANY social security benefits

Looks like you regurgitated yet another Musk falsehood again. Two in two days. Why not take a break from Musk and find your daily outrage elsewhere?

Wired Magazine explains the Social Security non-troversy.

SMH, this daily outrage didn't make it through a single news cycle. Either Musk is slipping or people are catching on to this bullshit faster than ever. Either was it's not a good look for Leon.

On a positive note, should RightGuide leave Lit forever, the average IQ rating for the entire pool of users on this site would be raised almost a full percentage point.

That remains to be seen.

In that event you'll always be here to drag it further down with a new post.

Give the Devil his due: he has had a stellar reputation as an "angel investor" in up-and-coming technologies we take for granted nowadays. He was exceptional at detecting major trends in technology from around 2004 to 2015. He recognized the immense potential for Artificial Intelligence but his ADHD caused him to lack the patience to see it through to public availability, which tarnished his track record.

Yeah sure. That's how be became the richest man on Earth,
Wealth is not based on intellect. It's based on risk, luck or inheritance.

If you had the balls as a young man, you might be rich. Were you willing to put everything you owned, or could get your hands on to gamble on a business venture? Nah you were too busy trading cans of corn for sex.....

Damn, some people think they can get facts from a Jim Hoft post.

That should be enough in itself to withdraw their right to vote and possess a firearm on the grounds of insanity.
