13 years??!!!! good gawd, girl....it's high time you go on one!! even if it's a little long weekend away. so many close destinations like the gulf islands or the sunshine coast! you need to take care of yourself.....work will always be there. besides, you and your honey need a little romantic weekend bliss, don't you?!! hehe;)

he is just as busy as I am. but maybe soon...after this year is over.

actually thinking about it...he is 100% busier. at least I only work 9 till 5:15 (Monday to Friday) but he works evenings and sometimes till well past midnight and most weekends.

chitty...I am so happy that I have found this thread *s* it has been so nice chatting off and on with you thru out the evening...

must admit while watching the final of Survivor *s*

It was wonderful meeting you and hope that we are able to chat again soon. I might have been here for years but I don't really know many people in Vanc.

Thanks Vancouverite,

I had been away from Lit for awhile...so I think that is why I missed it. Plus, wasn't really looking around in this area before. *s*

Well, you are patently most welcome, especially if you can get chittylove posting more frequently!

Just sorry I am not female, not bi and therefore unable to help you in your quest. But its a world of opportunity in this beautiful city.

Heroine maybe. We can laud you down Robson Street on Sunday afternoon, with a garland on your brow.

Friends are good. I seem to be talking baking a lot with people here, for some reason. :D

oh just around the corner *s*

baking...ok...well there is a baking section on the news right now. Do we have to discuss that?

Well, I work closer to Georgia and Burrard than Robson, but I could probably still hear your parade as it went past.

No we don't have to talk about baking (its not quite what I expected from a sex related forum) unless you happen to bake nude or know some sexy recipes (even the thought of that is sooooo wrong!)

hehehe that sounds like grasping at straws for sexy conversation hehehe

but you did make me smile *s*

I live in the downtown area and just work across the Granville bridge...on the other side of the water *s*

It was rather forced, wasn't it?
Oddly enough I was talking to someone yesterday about naked housework, so maybe my mind is just in that sort of rut atm.
Glad I could make you smile, YTG. Its getting to be a rare thing with the days drawing in and people feeling grumpy about all the shopping they haven't done yet.

well I haven't done hardly any shopping and just trying to figure out if I will have any time to actually get it done. but I know I will cos I always go thru this each and every year. And every year I say never again *s*

It sure is quiet in here...where are all the Vancouverites? When I arrived did I scare them all off? Didn't realize that I was such a scary person *s*

Everyone goes through that every year, apart from the anal retentives who bought in the Jan sales for next Christmas.

Scared them off? Its probably just shock that chitty posted. Say something flirty and Raw or LoGM will almost certainly respond. ;)

Or isn;t my company good enough now? :p

Although the question wasn't directed at me, I think you're good company!

My father in law had all of his shopping done by August. And he rotates the tires every 3000 miles and replaces everything when it's reached half of its expected lifespan (plus, he insists we do the same). Strange fellow!

flattery will get you everywhere, SweetErika!

So, anyone got a good recipe for fruitcake??? ;)

Frankly I hate people like your father in law. If the brakes aren't squealing then they don't need replacing. The fridge doesn't need replacing until the food inside can walk away. Christmas shopping should be done in the last half hour the shops are open to prevent over spending.
Well, maybe not!

Here ya go: Chocolate-Orange Fruitcake with Pecans

Best fruitcake ever. People will actually eat it instead of turning it into a door stop or weapon of mass destruction.

No green and red cherries in this one.

God, that looks really great!
Oh no, I am getting intobaking! Help me! Someone do something saucy to save me!

BTW - thanks BiV!
I'll avoid the almost mandatory cherry joke. :D

Oh c'mon, tis the season for fruitcake and cherry jokes! :D

Actually used to make that cake every year, but in jumbo muffin tins to make mini cakes for gift baskets. It was always a hit.

"And next week on Woman's Hour" we'll be looking at some of those thorny crochet problems we've all experienced."

Maybe you have to be English to know about "Woman's Hour".
