Very touchy subject here..approach with caution.

I knew it has been a legal problem Stella, I am saying since he has been so beloved of his bible and how it has always said that homosexuals are wrong that he should find a church or priest who has said it is wrong before the 50's or so.

Laws are written not so much by the people as a few people at the top who may or may not get a letter asking for it. Many of the sex laws on the book I am pretty sure are there because the person who wrote it either did not get a pass made on them but their friend did or they were not getting say anal sex and friends were.
weeeellll....

I kinda see what you mean, but it's all pretty complex.

If you go back to my link though, you can see a history of attitudes towards homosexuality that goes back to Egyptian age.

Your link shows a few instances of a church saying this is wrong, though only in vague references, a council represtative of the church says it amongst many things which says to me somebody added it in just because, there are church laws mentioned saying this is wrong, though the church laws only ever really affected the clergy and well sex was against church law. Not that most ever really followed those anyway.

There was mention of it in the inquisition in italy, except that was city states saying hey could you do this to sodomizers while you find non-christians. Ah well comlicated is why it is fun, besides when you start talking about groups of people the reasons for anything become complicated, like why do you not eat pork or why does that woman have a big red letter on her.

That post shows that you have a complete lack of understanding of the story of the Bible and how the last 2000 years has shaped contemporary Christianity.
I may not be able to quote chapter and verse (all the time) but I have read quite a bit about the history of Christianity. Exactly which of my points are you saying betrays my ignorance? That our conception of God has changed over the ages? That there are widespread disagreements on doctrinal issues and/or the meaning of scripture? That either of these points isn't sufficient reason to conclude that religion in general is an exclusively human creation and as such just as subject to personal preference as any other philosophy of life?
