Actually, they locked several songwriters in for a weekend, then compared what they wrote, and Barry McGuire won... congrats, Barry, you have written the "official" anthem for Haight Ashbury! Yeah, right!

I've never been to SF, never worn flowers in my hair... but have dropped numerous tabs and have 'freed my mind' as Lennon would have said.... honey, I lived the 60s, and 70s.... and enjoy playing name that tune.... gie me a toughie.... like Sky Saxon and the Seeds... or ? and the Mysterians....
