Living in an almost mythically cold and damp part of the world, I do sympathise . . . I usually only get the cold once a year - unfortunately, it starts around the beginning of October and doesn't really clear till the end of May . . .
Still, it means I'm a dab hand at making hot toddys, and know some interesting techniques to apply vapor-rub to a constricted chest.
Let me know if you need a hand getting decongested (and drunk and smelly)
