Virginia Friends

Virginia here ... Like the new format! Except it's hard to figure out who is online now.
Glad to see a few more people posting on the thread. The layout looks nice and I like the notifications but wondering if it could get overwhelming if a person is making a lot of posts. Probably won't effect me. I have not looked yet but I am guessing that profiles, signatures et al are working now.

It was a Mardis Gras Celebration weekend, Hope you indulged my friend. The “ High Holy Daze “🍀🍻🎼 are up next. Enjoy Slainte 👍🍀🍻
I didn't party like I was at Mardis Gras but I played Bingo on Friday night, took a beekeeper class on Saturday then went to a bull and oyster roast that evening and finally played golf on Sunday so it was a busy weekend. I made jambalaya for dinner tonight for Fat Tuesday. Anybody for Cafe Du Monde?

I think the beignets from the Cafe Du Monde are the absolute best in terms of "fried dough" treat. I prefer them over Krispy Kreme doughnuts and that's saying a lot, since I love fresh Krispy Kreme doughnuts.

One thing that I've noticed as I've gotten older is that the years tend to fly by faster than than when I was younger. My subjective impression is that my 50s have gone by way faster than my 20s and 30s. Of course the last two years have been strange because of the pandemic, but still .. time seems to be flying by.

There is something about sitting outside eating beignets and drinking chicory coffee that I love in New Orleans. It has been a while since I was last there. My dad grew in New Orleans so use to go there every other year to visit my grandmother when I was growing up. I was 11 and walking down Bourbon Street with my parents. We walked by some joint (I now know it was strip club) and there were a pair of bare legs that kept swinging out from an opening. Of course it caught my adolescent attention and imagination. Years later I was back and found it was just a pair of plastic legs that was swinging. So disappointed. lol.

I totally agree about the years seeming to fly by now. Probably because it brings me so much closer to actually being old. When you are 20 you can say I got 60 more years to go but when you are in your 50's or 60's there are a lot less years.

Just giving the thread a bump on this warm Sunday. Hope everyone enjoys the day.

And yet on the next Saturday -- it prediction is for snow -- just goes to show, you can't count on the weather being consistent.
It is crazy, working all week for a lousy weather weekend. Grrrrr. Hmm, maybe some snowbunnies in form fitting ski outfits will show up. Wouldn't that be something. lol We could turn snow angels into snow devils. Isn't there a Naughtygirl that lurks on this thread?

If I drank whiskey then I would get drunk and it would be easy for women to sweet talk me into bed. Wait, that is not a bad thing. Give me a shot.
