Like meet more ppl in area

Hello Virginia. I'm from the Hampton roads area. Signal male. 63.

To celebrate I made Bangers & Mash!

I had to look up what that was but it looks good. I might have to make that sometime.

Seeing some warmer weather so that is a good thing. I got my first vaccine shot so another good thing. :)

Giving the Virginia thread a Sunday bump. Hope everyone had a great weekend and is ready for new week coming up.

C'mon, Virginians... We really ought to show why Virginia is for Lovers!

Perhaps the posting reflecting the overall forum--too many men and too few women? NOVA also is somewhat quiet a place for various sexual things (IMHO).

So, there are my thoughts on your commentary:

a) too many men / too few women?
So while the ratio may not be 1:1 in terms of men / women, I do believe that there are women in NOVA and the DMV area that read the forums, but do not necessarily want to participate publicly in a forum. This is particularly true if the forum isn't all that interesting -- and sadly, if you look at ours, it really isn't much more than people checking in every so often. If you want to coax women into participating, you have to pique their interest. It's not much different than flirting in a group conversation situation.

b) NOVA also is somewhat quiet a place for various sexual things
Actually, I think this opinion was much more interesting. While I think the DMV might be slightly more conservative than say a NY, SF, or LA because of the predominance of military / government work, as well as all the lobbyists, lawyers, and other policy influencers, I would think that the sexual activity is the same, just maybe a bit more discreet.

After all -- I didn't know the word "throuple" until the Rep. Katie Hill scandal -- I would have just called it regular polyamory, or a live in fmf threesome. See -- now a good question to ask would be how many women in the DMV would participate in a throuple?

Wow, it has been almost a year since anyone posted in this thread. Did everyone move out of the state?

What is going on in the state of Virginia today? Hope everyone is doing well.

Welcome back StarGazer. It’s been a very long time, Good Sir. Happy to see you are alive & well! Yes the “ Lost Cause” is steady as she goes here in the Commonwealth. 50 men to each “ visible “ lady. Worse odds then Lee vs. Grant in the Wilderness. I myself am doing well. Did some extra volunteer work at the museum today. And the “ High Holy Daze” of March 17th 🍀are on the horizon. Happy to see a posting from you. Take care. Slainte 🍀🍺

Hey there FourFlags. It has been a while since I was last on Lit. My interest in Lit waxes and wanes. Yeah, I did not expect the ratio of men to women to improve in my absence. Doubt it will ever get better. Glad to hear you are doing well.

Nope .. still here in the almost post-pandemic world, watching Western Civilization disintegrate with the rise of social media -- where rather than argue the merits of different opinions it's easier to being denounce people who disagree with you as a "white supremacist" racists -- including those poor minority parents who ousted the "woke" school board members this past week, as well as those Canadian truckers.

You know you're in trouble when you've got the Canadians, who are by far one of the most welcoming people in terms of national culture being denounced as being far right. So, while the rest of civilization dissolves, it appears that nobody in Virginia is interested in posting on sex chat board. Maybe our libido is having a "malaise" moment ..

I don't know about the rest of the world but the US is slowly disintegrating. What was once a melting pot, it now all about whatever tribe you identify with. I agree most of this was brought about by social media which has amplified small groups of voices well beyond their actual numbers. I have no idea why people care so much about what complete strangers might tweet about them.

There have been a few times on Lit where I have made someone mad and they attempt to tell me off and people will say you got burned and I only laugh. I could not care less what somebody I don't know thinks of me.

Did everyone move out of Virginia again? Is there not one other person in Virginia that peruses the Lit boards?

Apparently, a lot of them moved down here. You want them back?
You can send the attactive women back up and keep the rest. :) It is crazy that there are a couple of million people in the DC, MD and VA area and so few posters. There has to be a lot of lurkers or the majority of the people in the area are asexual.

I do believe there are more lurkers than one would think ... but overall, it looks like geography is not great for keeping threads going. So far I think the XenForo software is better than the previous software -- was it vBulletin? Now if they could only find a better chat program ...

You are right, something about this area that people don't want to post or get to know their fellow local Listers. This new look will take some getting use to as any new software does. I don't see a limit on the number of PMs so I wonder if that limitation is gone?

Virginia here ... Like the new format! Except it's hard to figure out who is online now.

Well, in general this area is a bit more conservative than say a Los Angeles, San Francisco, or New York. Lots of government / military work, many of which requires security clearances with background checks, and that tends to moderate behavior and make people more discreet about their activities.

On the new software -- it may be just my perception, but it appears that this software runs faster. I haven't tried searches yet, but it seems to me to be less limited in terms of performance. I also like the "similar threads" feature -- that seems like an improvement to me.

So -- we've managed to bring another dead Virginia thread back to life again ... at least for a little while.
