VR adventures (closed for Cherrybomb)

Gardenia nodded. "Yep. It was packed when I got here. There was some downloading issues though, but I think that was because of how many people were downloading at once maybe?" She wasn't sure.

She turned to him with a gleeful smile. "So, any new toys in development? Need someone to test them out?" She knew that he couldn't really give her anything, like weapons or potions. "Seriously though, you on work time or play time? I was leveling up earlier." Of course she still wasn't at his level yet.

He laughed for a moment and shook his head.

"Nope, no new stuff to let you test out. Well, nothing I can give to you. Only thing I have to test out right now is a new fangled friend finder. I believe it's supposed to let someone find their freinds no matter where they go."

He looked around the crowd once more for a moment and then back to her with a smile.

"I guess you could say I'm on my time. They'll probably give me something new to debug in a couple of days, but I'm good to go and play around some. Let me guess, you were wanting me to powerlevel you some."

"You make it sound like I only hangout with you because I want something.... Can you power level me?" She asked curiously. "I was just thinking we could find some trouble to get into."

Then she remembered that he said there was something new he was playing around with. "Wait what was that thing you mentioned earlier? Friend finder?" She was curious. "Is that how you found me? Dawwww you think of me as your friend!" She was definitely a lot more relaxed with him now.

"So, all it does is tell you your friend's location? Nothing else? Like stats or something? Like could it be used to find out when one of your friends is in battle or low on health or something?"

He sighed softly for a moment at her slew of questions. He had just got the thing that day, and he still didn't know everything about it.

"Yes, it's how I found you. As far as waht all it does, I don't know yet. I just got the tool today, so I need some time to play around with it."

He hmmed for a moment, glancing at the sky for a moment. Everything was synced up with time in the real world, so he could tell it was still early. He figured they had a couple of hours before the sun went down to get some daytime hunting done. Night time was supposed to bring out harder monsters, which he hadn't had a chance to test out either. He smiled and looked back to her.

"I don't see why a little trouble can't be found somewhere. Ladies first."

"Awesome!" She grasped his hand and started tugging him along. "Let's go, Blade boy."

Gardenia was magic heavy combat character which was useful for when they were in battle with a rather difficult monster, but she probably wouldnt have cleared levels without the help of Nightblade. It helped to have a guy who worked on the game. She would be surprised if there were things his character couldn't handle. They beat a few monsters, Gardenia healed them, they looted treasure.

When it started getting darker, more scary looking monsters came out. One tore off her armor and the lower half of her dress! Thankfully her character was wearing undergarments. She didn't even think that clothing could be torn! Good thing she had gold... She knew what she was going to be stocking up on now.

After the monster was beat, Gardenia was sitting on the ground looking like a girl who had a rough prom night. If Nightblade hadn't been there to see the actual battle, it probably would have looked like someone just finished molesting her with how disheveled her hair and clothes looked (what was left of them).

"Oookay, I think that might be enough for today." Even though Gardenia felt exposed, it was only an avatar, not her real body. No matter how much this body felt real. "You got an extra tunic I can borrow?"

He had enjoyed himself as he fought the mobs with Gardenia. He wasn't quite sure about her calling him Blade boy, but that was for another time. The monsters they fought were just below his level, but above hers do she would get decent XP points from them. However she still didn't get the full amount she would have if she had been leveling alone.

He didn't let on that most of the time he let himself get hit, testing out the new system. Most of the hits and cuts were light, but they still hurt a bit. He could only imagine if they had been fighting against a boss creature. It made him wonder if broken bones had been implemented or not.

The sudden semi disrobe meant caught him off guard, but he quickly recovered. After all, his armor seemed to get damaged as well. He gave a little chuckle at her question.

"Do I look like I carry women's clothing around? Are you done for now?"

He tried his best not to stare at Gardenia in her current state.

"We can head back and see if we can get something for you to wear till you get your armor fixed. Wanna go to my place first?"

"I said tunic! Meaning mens top." She blew a raspberry at him. Of course she knew he didn't carry around women's clothing... ok she didn't know. The least he could offer was the shirt off his back, but if he wanted to enjoy the view of her pantie covered ass, so be it.

"Yeah, lets go to your place, so I don't feel like a nudist here." She smirked.

He laughed for a moment.

"I know what a tunic is. That wouldn't help cover your panties anyways."

He smirked for a moment before taking her hand and pulling her to her feet. He brought up his inventory before hitting his return spell. The next moment, they stood in the middle of his apartment when he released her hand. He had found that there was a nice warmth to her embrace, something to note for later.

"I might still have some leather pants you can wear."

He released her hand and went to the item chest he had, opening. He did have a single pair of leather pants, designed for both sexes. He held it out to her.

"Here you go.'

"It would be long enough." She muttered, needing to get the last word in. Soon the two were back at his place and she was handed a pair of pants.

Gardenia slid them on and sighed happily when she put them on. "You know what I love about VR world? No matter what your height or size, clothing fits. It's damn near impossible for me to find pants in real life that are long enough." Little odd to hear since her avatar was on the short side and the real her was tall and lanky.

He laughed for a moment, taking a seat at his desk.

"Well, it's the world we escape to to get away from real life. Everything is perfect. No one is overweight, ugly, or marred in any way. Pity we have to return to the real world."

He stretched and yawned a little bit for a moment. Being tired wasn't something new to translate into the game. After all, the designers didn't want repeats of players going for thirty-six hours or more without eating or sleeping, or worse, dying while playing the game.

"So any plans for tomorrow or just planning to wing it?"

"Mom and I are actually supposed to be visiting the college I will be going to in the fall tomorrow." Gardenia was excited for college, it just meant. "I'll probably only be online every other week... Unless you want to help me study." She smiled.

"Hey where are you from anyway?" She wasn't interested in the specifics of where he lived, she was just curious. Most of the friends she made would turn out to be outside of the country.

He smiled and nodded at her mention of college.

"That sounds like a good thing to do. Oh, I might be able to help out if you want me to. I'm pretty good in math and science, if you hadn't figured it out."

He winked playfully for a moment. He thought about her question, wondering how much he should tell her. They had only just met, so he would keep it simple.

"I live in America at the moment. A beautiful country."

"Same! I'm on the East Coast." She didn't plan on giving too much either. There were a lot of states on the East Coast.

"At the moment? Do you do a lot of traveling?" Sadie/Gardenia wanted to travel. There were so many places she wanted to go but she doubted that she would visit them all in her lifetime. Maybe someone should make a virtual world of Earth for people who cannot travel. Eh... still not the same.

He smiled for a moment when she mentioned the East Coast. That was where he had lived, though he didn't add that.

"I have done a bit of traveling myself. I've been to several countries so far, but it's been awhile since I went abroad. Programming took a lot of time. You should try and go when you can."

"Wont be until after College and I have a job. I'm on a scholarship." She grinned. If it wasn't for that, Sadie would be completely hopeless and probably left to a life of shitty retail and waitressing jobs.

"So what are your fun plans for tomorrow?"

He thought for a few moments before shrugging softly.

"Not sure yet. I'll probably spend a few hours trying to level up some more. Maybe try and make another friend or two. Good luck on your college hunting tomorrow."

He stood up and moved to her, giving her a hug. He probably was overstepping some boundry, but he just wanted to be friendly. He did find that the closeness of her was very warm, and he enjoyed feeling her close. He released the hug after a moment with a smile.

"Well, you might want to grab a room before it fills up tonight. Unless you want to be logging into a strange man's room when you come back to play."

He winked teasingly before going and sitting on the edge of his bed.

Sadie's heart fluttered a bit when they hugged. It was really easy to get caught up in a person when their avatars looked pretty much perfect. Did he himself say that was the appeal of VR? In this world, everyone could be who they truly wanted to be.

She laughed, "Trying to shoo me out? Don't want me to log back in with your pants down?" She teased. "I think I can handle you." She smirked and popped up her control panel to select logging out. She waved as her avatar started to disappear, but right before she was fully gone, she re-materialized and an error messaged popped up.

"I must have accidentally hit the command twice." She laughed nervously. Once again her control panel came up and she hit "logout", but this time "COMMAND FAIL" showed up.

He laughed and shook his head at her teasing. It didn't matter to him what she wanted to do, letting her log out here if she wanted. As she began to log out, he laid back on the bed. He had planned to relax a few more times before logging out himself.

He was half watching her from the corner fo his eye as she began to fade from view. When she suddenly came back, he blinked. That was something new.

"It was probably just a bug."

He sat back up watching her try to log out again. On a whim, he brought up his own menu, but the logout command was gone.

"Ok, that's not right...Before I try, are you able to contact a GM?"

For the third time she opened her panel. She wasn't sure where to actually select to call a GM. She never had to do it before. She found the button and selected it.

"It says call failed... Whats going on?" Sadie was starting to worry, but she had to remind herself that Nightblade worked on Starry Night, so she was sure whatever it was he could fix it.

He frowned for a moment as she told him she couldn't contact a GM. He wasn't sure why the function was suddenly failing.

"Let me check on something. Why don't you get comfortable."

He walked over to his desk, opening up his tools. He poked through the menus for a few moments, finding many of his previous allowed access locked. It appeared his coding had became limited to dealing with his apartment and anything dealing with him, like his weapons, profile, stats, and other stuff.

He sighed and turned around, looking towards her.

"Bad news. A lot of my access seems to have been revoked, so I'm being limited one what I can do. Even contacting the rest of the team is out, unless they happen to be on right now. Then I just have to find them. I'm not certain what's going on."

"Oh... well I guess I'll just wait until the system stops fucking up or my mom decides to turn off the consel." Gardenia said nonchalantly, she thought she would just wake up if the machine was turned off. What a lot of people didn't understanding was that the the game consel players were hooked up to was the only link between them and her body. It was why the consels had an emergency battery in case of power going out. This kind of VR gaming was still new, so the concept that people's brain were separated from their body was new for everyone to grasp. If the consel was shut of, Gardenia was trapped in the game and Sadie's body was a vegetable.

He chuckled soflty for a moment.

"Well, that's one way to look at it. It wouldn't be the first time I've slept with this thing on. Granted it wasn't more than an hour at a time. Tell ya what. You go ahead and take the bed and I'll continue to try and see what's going on. Grab some sleep if you want."

He yawned again for a moment, covering his mouth with his hand. He was suddenly feeling very tired for some reason, but he was going to do his best to stay awake.

Gardenia wondering what she said that was funny... was not turning off the consel an option?... she started to get a little worried. She pushed it aside when Nightblade offered her the bed. Whether it was real world or virtual world... she needed to sleep. Hopefully things would be fixed quickly.

The pants were a bit thick to sleep in, but she didn't really think he would be comfortable with her taking her pants off. She she just laid down and closed her eyes. It actually took a while before sleep finally came for her. It was one thing to sleep in another bed, she was in a different world! When sleep did come, she was curled up on the bed, her back facing Nightblade.

He turned back to working as Gardenia tried to get a bit of sleep. He found that at least the mail system worked, firing off several messages in hopes they would be answered soon. He also continued to try and access the code, but was still locked out.

He had meant to wake up Gardenia in a short while, but that backfired. He had gotten absorbed into trying to figure the problem out, losing track of time. Fatigue also overtook him, his head laying down on the desk as sleep overtook him.

It was nearly morning when the sensation of hunger pains woke him up. He cursed softly seeing the time before attempting to get up. He moved to the bed and shook Gardenia softly.

"It's morning Gardenia. Sorry, I fell asleep."

Gardenia opened her virtual eyes. Woah, waking up in VR world was different from the real world. It was like switching a light switch. No drowsy feeling like she was use to.

She sat up, "What time is it?" She asked as she streches. Hopefully it wasn't too late. "I don't suppose you woke up to find answers?" She asked hopefully.
