The Virginia Cavaliers, the first NCAA basketball team to this year's final four--in a knuckle-biting overtime.

And now Duke is gone and there's wailing in the streets. This is fine for Virginia, which lost to Duke twice in the regular season (but lost only one other game beyond that). Virginia is the only One Seed left. It's done its job--it won its region--and the other One Seeds didn't. That's how it will appear in the record books.

Oh, did your home team--that college you wanted to go to but couldn't get into--piffle out? Poor baby.

NOBODY remembers anyone but the winner, spy plane boy.
Who lost in all the SB's? Nobody fucking knows.
Who are the 3 teams that didn't win every Final Four? Nobody fucking knows.
Who won silver or bronze in the Olympics? Nobody fucking knows.
Who pretends to be things they aren't? You.
Curb your enthusiasm until you got something to brag about and no that doesn't include being a spy or owning Lit.

Guess your whining means your choices didn't pan out. The four games of the final eight were exciting and were close. Regardless of your team, it's been a good run. I think I made it pretty clear that I thought Duke would beat Virginia again if given another matchup. The sour grapes I've seen on Duke backers, though (Duke didn't do as well as Virginia did on the regular season, and they're in the same conference) makes Virginia still being in the running more delicious. As do the backbiting posts to this thread. :)

Why do you care, you live in Canada, did you go to college in the States? Or you just wanted to pounce on him due to your intense obsession and hatred of certain posters?

You could have argued against his point without going straight for the cheap shot on his sexuality.

Like a true racist/misogynist/homophobe, you go after things of which folks cannot change.

You are a sad and sorry human being. I feel sorry for you.

But Que loves you, so that's what matters. No wonder people treat you like a leper, don't bother responding, I don't care.

You need to have a calf and get all that Joan Crawford mommying out of you, dude.

UVa 63 Auburn 62 in the first game of the final four.

Another heart-stopping ending.

On to the championship game. :)

Nothing personal...dont really care...but I wonder who got paid to give them that game. Dont call a double dribble...call a foul on something that wasnt called all game. Shrugs shoulders...you are still the only team to loose to a 16 seed in the first round. That is what will be remembered.

Sounds pretty sour grapes personal to me, but that's OK. I'm not on the basketball team; I just went to the school and live smack dab in the middle of the university (it has swallowed up my neighborhood). They won the last two games inside the last second, so, yes, they've pretty much been running on fumes. The point, though, is that they are playing for the championship (and went the longest of any college team into the season without losing a game).

And, no, I don't think the first-round loss last year will be all that anyone remembers of the UVa team. If that sticks in your gorge, that's fine with me. :) You didn't have to comment at all.

Oh, and it won all of its games today in four different sports. :) (And when I went to the school we couldn't win in anything but tennis, polo, and lacrosse. For football, we had our victory parties the night before so we could celebrate happy. And in those days we competed well for the championship in celebrating.)

I actually picked them in my bracket. I just hate gifts

Most of the post-game commentators picked Virginia to win. Surprised me. Looked to me tonight like the Texas Tech guys were knocking the other players into the stands and I'm not sure how much of that our guys can take.

Championship Game

End of regulation play, tied

UVa 68, Texas Tech 68

How good is that?

University of Virginia wins in overtime.

UVa 85, Texas Tech 77
