Cody stood up with a yawn and a stretch. "Come on dude, break time's over." He said to the small black pug sitting next to him. The pug gave a huff, but stood up as Cody began to gather his things. He slipped on his large backpack that held most of his things while making sure his trash bag of skittles was securely tied to the backpack. He then hefted his gutiar case and began to slowly walk down the abandoned highway.

After about an hour of walking Cody came across a sign. The sign had "Welcome to Remedy!" painted on it in large faded letters. "Sweet dude! A town. Maybe we can find some food, and sleep in a bed!" Cody said excitedly to his dog running forward into the town.

The town was very small, a Main Street with some local shops, and houses off the Main Street. The town was so small it didn't even have a McDonald's. As Cody made his was along the Main Street, Barry gave two short barks. Cody looked around and saw his dog was staring intently at an old diner. "Sweet! Good find dude!" Cody said excitedly to his dog.

The duo walked over to the front of the diner, whose sign read "Stella's Diner". Cody peered through the large front window to the seeminly abandoned diner. "I think it's clear dude." Cody said to Barry. He tried the front door, but it was locked. "Smashy smashy." Cody said picking up a rock and flinging it through the glass of the front door. Barry gave a soft whine almost as if to say "quit making so much noise! We don't know what's here!". "Aww, shut up Barry. We're fine, I haven't seen one of those rotter dudes since three days ago." Cody said to the dog reaching through the broken glass and unlocking the door.

Cody walked into the dark restaurant and hopped over the counter to search for food, while Barry sat at the door, alert for any noise or movement in the town. "It's not looking good dude. I think the owners cleared this place out." Cody said from behind the counter. After a moment Cody emerged from behind the counter carrying a handful of crackers, and a few packs of various condiments. "I'm going to check the back, bark if you see anything." Cody said stuffing the crackers and condiments into his backpack.

Cody opened the door in the back and walked into a small kitchen area. He saw a grill, an oven, several shelves full of cookware, and two refrigerators. He opened the first refrigerator to find all the food spoiled and rotting. The only useful thing was a jar of pickles, which Cody placed into his backpack. The next refrigerator had a better haul. It was clearly used for drinks, and had a few bottles and cans the owner didn't take with them. Cody grabbed several bottles of water, as well as some root beer and stuffed them into his backpack. He was about to return to Barry when something on one of the shelves caught his eye. He walked over and grabbed a large cooking knife that was about a foot long. "Sweet!" He exclaimed excitedly give the blade a few experimental swings. Cody then heard Barry issue several loud urgent barks. "Aww fuck! Something found us!" Cody breathed in fear. He set down his backpack and guitar case in the kitchen and then ran into the front wielding the knife, hoping that he wouldn't die today.

Hiromi Takumy

Hiromi was walking throught the town looking for likely supply caches. It had been several days since she had a decent meal. Grubs, beatles and other insects may keep you alive but they don't really satisfy the bodys need for food.

She had seen the usual...homes that were abondoned, some had been barricaded but overrun, business that had been looted. She remembers what her friend once said, "There's nothing left in this world that's not hidden."

It was starting to get late and she needed to find shelter, just because you couldn't see them didn't mean they weren't around. She turned a corner to see if there was someplacce she could make safe for the night, and maybe find a can of something. Hell even stale ceral would be a feast after the last few days.

Glancing around the corner she didn't see any threats, so she stepped out, mmoving carefully ready to hide or fight if needed. She took two steps and then a dog started barking. She dashed over to a car and crouched behind it. The dog was both a good and bad sign.

The dog feeling free to bark meant that none of the kyonshi that had destryed civilization were around. But Hiromi had encountered wild dog packs before, and they could be even more dangerous. She tried to ease the car door open, knowing she couldn't outrun the dogs, but the door s were locked.

Looking around for another option she didn't see anything. She drew her katana and readied herself for a fight.

Matt was crouched down in alleyway behind some trashcans, he had heard the barking and decided to investigate. He always joked with himself, unfortunately it was always with himself and never anone else, that he was life-threateningly curious. That cat in that saying about curiosity? Had to have been him in past life or something.

He quietly shouldered his backpack as best he could before checking the mag in his .40 then reholstered it and reached under the folds of his heavy leather trench coat to pull out a hatchet in his right hand and his bucknife in the left, if he was lucky there wouldn't be many groans attracted by the barking and he wouldn't have to use them. Frankly though, the potential of zombies being around isn't what bothers him, it's people. He and his friends would always talk about how people would be the most dangerous thing in situations like this.

He quietly inched from around the trashcans to just the very edge of the alley, still hunkered down, and tried to get a better look. Quietly he muttered to himself under his breath, "Maaaan...it's been so long since I've seen anyone else...and the past few ones I didn't even go anywhere near them...it'd be nice to have someone to talk to that isn't me...I'd certainly feel a lot more sane when I got a response back then."

Cody quickly ran into the front room, making it to the window just in time to see someone or something disapear behind a car. "Fuck me! When did they start hiding!?" Cody whispered to himself, his hands tightening on his knife. He tried to keep his fear from overwhelming him, but he was fighting a losing battle against his terror. Then out of nowhere an idea hit him. "What if that's not a zombie?" He whispered to Barry. He took a deep breath to steel himself before shouting. "Um... Hey? Hey! You behind the car! Are you a person!?" Cody called out his voice filled with fear. "Fuck I hope that's a person." He said to himself.

Hiromi froze for a second. Her position was compromised now. If anyone was hostile they knew where she was. She shifted her position to the front trie of the car knowing the engine would stop bullets better than a door or window.

Peekign around the bumper she saw a man and dog standig in the door to a restaurant. Looking around to see if he had friends, she didn't see any movement so she risked a short reply "Hai! I am alive!"

"Sheeeiiiiiiit...now there's two of 'em and a dog...though at least the dog doesn't look all that vicious, right?" He shifted his position slightly and froze when he accidentally kicked an empty bottle. "Ah fuck me..." Eyes went wide as he got that deer cough in the headlight look and tried to make himself as small and inconspicuous as possible, he knew there was no way he was hidden from view.

Hearing a bottle rattle in the ally next to the restaurant, Hiromi dropped down and got her throwing knife ready keeping her katana ready for action. "How many are you?" she asked ready to flee if anything didn't feel right.

Cody heard the bottle next to the restaurant. "I don't know what that was! It's just me and Barry, I swear!" Cody shouted to the woman hiding behind the car. "I don't want to hurt you! I'm going to come over to the car now! Please don't shoot me!" Cody shouted. He didn't know what was in the alley way next to the diner, but he didn't want it to get the drop on him. He scooped Barry up in his left arm and ran over to the car staying on the opposite side that the woman was on. "Um hi. My name is Cody. Please don't kill me." He said praying that this woman wasn't some crazy murderer. Cody turned and looked towards the alley way where the bottle had clattered. "Hey! Over in the alley! Any chance you're a person too!?" Cody shouted realizing he may have just run into a trap.

"Fuck it...might as well I guess..." He muttered to hi.self as he slipped the hatchet and knife away, though he did u holster his pistol and slip it in his pocket, just in case. To the other two he called out, "Uhhh...that depends! If you're friendly, then yes. If not then no, I'm just a figment of your imagination...I don't suppose you'd be drunk or high enough to believe that though, huh?" He slipped just a bit closer to the edge of the alley, enough to poke his head around and figure out where they were now.

Hiomi watched him pick up hthe dog and run to her hiding place. She ekpt her sword ready, but didn't threaten him with it. He seemed harmless, but so does a Panda bear, until it attacks.

She waited to see what was going on, knowing she was in a bad situation, if this was a setup Cody would be able to grab her before she could react. She split her attention between the alley and the guy with her, prepared to do what ever was needed.

"I'm high, but I'm not that high!" Cody called out to the man in the alley way, smiling despite himself. "How about we all come out!? Calmly and without weapons! I'll go first, please don't shoot!" Cody called out. He slowly walked towards the middle of the street placing the knife on the ground a few feet away from himself. He stood in the middle of the street cradling Barry in his arms. "You guys come out now! We do this calm and easy! No one needs to get hurt!" Cody yelled, hoping these people would be reasonable.

"This...has got to be the dumbest thing I've done so far today..." He took a few calming breaths, stood up, and then came out of the alley, hands in plain view. "Hey, that's a nice pooch man, I used to have a dog ya know..." He let out a nervous chuckle and wiped his forehead as he continued forqard. At about 10 feet away from Cody he stopped and glanced toward the car, hoping he wasn't about to get a bullet in the head.

Hiromi was always perplexed at the gaijin. She had no idea what this ritual was, but there was no way she was going to dishonor her Katana by putting it away without letting it taste blood. Putting it on the ground was unthinkable.

She stood up and stepped out from behind the car hilding her sword in a non threatening manner and keeping a throwing knife in teh palm of her hand.

She stood there eyeing the two men suspiciously waiting for one of them to speak.

"Um hi. I'm Cody. This is Barry." Cody said to the others holding his dog up for them to see. "You're not going to stab us right? We're all peaceful." Cody said eyeing the woman with the swords wearily. "Who are you guys? Do you know each other?" Cody asked, still suspicious that he'd met two people on the same day.

"Name's Matt, your friend there...she ain't gonna stab me in the face is she? I'm just saying, I kinda like my face without stab holes or bullet holes, ya know? It's been a while since I actually had conversations with people other than myself...not that I'm crazy or anything, I just like the sound of my own voice. I'm uh...I'm not really sure how the pickings are fine this town, I've been through a few buildings already but haven't found much." His hands casually dropped down now, he hooked his thumbs in his pockets but didn't actually stick his hands in, he figured that'd be about as close as he could get to his gun without 'accidentally' falling on a sword just in case things went sour.

Hiromi looked at teh two men, and bowed toward them. I am Hiromi. I am no threat to anyone living, unless they try to attack me. I seek food and shelter for tonight."

Cody looked at Hiromi unsure if he should bow back or not. After moment he decided against it and carfully set Barry down on the ground. "She's not with me man. I just wandered on with Barry, but I found some pickles and crackers in that dinner over there. There's also a fridge full of stuff to drink. I've also got some weed if you guys want some. You guys can come in if you want to." Cody said. He carfully picked his knife up off of the ground and slide it through his belt loop like a sword before walking towards the diner. Barry looked up at the other two humans expectantly before following his friend to the diner.

"Fuck me, I could definitely use a bowl pack right about now, are you kidding me man? I just about shat myself when I heard the commotion." With that he adjusted the backpack he wore and trotted after Cody. "I got some freeze dry 'just add water' shit in my bag I'll share for a smoke up. But seriously though, that asian broad, she ain't gonna stab me right?"

"What the hell was that?!" Emma woke up to loud voices yelling to each other. She instantly grabbed her black backpack and holstered it into her back. She drew out her hunting bow and put an arrow ready to shoot. and throwing knives and walked out from the salon. Almost walking into a man and his dog. Backing up instantly poised to shoot.

Hiromi shook her head at the idiocy of people who would dull their senses with anything when there life could depend on hearing the slightest sound, or noticing the faintest change of lighting. She was about to turn her back and leave when the woman with the arrow appeared.

Getting on guard seh watched to see what would happen.

"Goddamn this day never ends!" And with that the .40 was whipped out of his pocket and pointed loosely at the ground in front of the newcommer. "Make a deal with ya? Take that arrow away from the bow all nice like and I'll put my gun back in my pocket, what do you think?"

Emma considered this for a moment, and lowered her bow slightly. "Who the hell are you guys and are you together? I'm not in the mood for being shot at the moment." Or robbed"

"Woah woah woah! Everybody just calm the fuck down! There are fucking zombies everywhere and we're trying to kill each other! Everyone just put your weapons away! Please." Cody said placing himself between Matt's gun and the unknown woman's bow. Cody turned to the woman with the bow, his back towards Matt. "We just met like two minutes ago, so we're not together. We were about to go into that diner over there to try to get some food before dark. You're welcome to join us if you tell us your name and put away the bow." Cody said his hands still raised in a peaceful gesture.

Emma sighed, "alright fine"She put her arrow into her quiver and put her bow back around her back. "Names Emma". "Now it's your turn"

Hiromi, she said with a slight bow keeping her sword in her hand, hoping to kill one of the kyonshi so she could put her blade away without having to cut herself...again.
