CNN host mocks Trump’s ‘peculiar fondness’ for Putin: ‘Poor Russia is misunderstood’

CNN foreign policy host Fareed Zakaria told Don Lemon that President Donald Trump has spent his history talking about the ways in which everyone is hurting the U.S. But when it comes to Russia, Trump is quick to defend.

“Trump’s view on foreign policy has been consistent his whole life,” Zakaria began. “The rest of the world is screwing America. As a real estate developer he took out ads saying the Europeans never pay their fair share, the Japanese are screwing us, the rest of the world humiliates us. Every book he’s written that’s exactly the position he’s taken except with one country: Russia. He thinks that Germany, Britain and France are countries that screw us and we should be tough on them but Russia, poor Russia is misunderstood and if only we could get on with it better. So, there’s this puzzle, it’s really about one country.”

Former Russian Ambassador Alexander Vershbow said that the amount of communication with Russia and his “peculiar fondness” with Russia seems outside of the norm but there’s no evidence about whether it was nefarious.

:D Yeah Right! :D

If it's Trump Tainted it's bound to end up nefarious.:)

Rachel Maddow calls BS on Pence claim he never knew about Flynn’s Turkish contract

MSNBC host Rachel Maddow continued her investigations into President Donald Trump’s complicated ties to foreign governments. Tonight’s installment was about the tangled web of retired Gen. Michael Flynn’s connections to Russia and now Turkey.

Last night, in an interview with Bret Baier on Fox News, Vice President Mike Pence said that the story about Flynn and Turkey was “hearing that story today is the first [he’s] hearing of it.”

Maddow noted that Baier didn’t ask Pence when he heard about Flynn. Yet, twice when asked about the topic, Pence sought to say that it was the first time he’d heard about it.

“That cannot be true,” Maddow said bluntly. “It is impossible this is the first Mike Pence has heard of it. Mike Pence was the head of the [Trump] transition, while all of those news stories of Mike Flynn being on the Turkish government’s payroll were breaking. He was the head of the transition when Mike Flynn was being vetted for the National Security Advisor job. He was the head of the transition when Congress formally notified the head of the transition that Mike Flynn appears to be on a foreign government’s payroll. He was the head of the transition when Mike Flynn’s personal lawyers came and told the transition that Mike Flynn maybe needed to register as a foreign agent.”

Mike has to stay Lily White if he wants to 25th the Trumpster! Will this perfidious taint stick?

Funny how y'all can get all over Trump for his previous business dealings and other relationships with Russia. I don't remember our wonderful press ever saying 2 words about Obama's very close ties to those wonderful world neighbors of ours in the Middle East. Not a peep! For how many years? I guess we are supposed to continue his lovefest with that region in honor of our highly esteemed Mr. Obama?

That's because it didn't happen and we didn't want to feed your dumb racism.

It isn't about the contacts. It's the coverup.

It's about both the contact (conflict of interest) and coverup (criminal dishonesty).

The contacts may be evidence of conflict of interest. The coverup is definitely evidence of dishonesty.
