He smiled. "Dying isn't the strangest thing, believe it or not. The first time it happens, whoo, it can really get to you. Of course, the real problem is not getting accustomed to it. You get used to it, and next thing you know, once you're out of here and no one's ready to bring you back, you can be gone for good."
He smiled, and ate. They talked about some of the oddities on campus, like the clock tower that never seemed to be in sync with itself, much less anything else, and some of the finer points of being free. Before he knew it, they were done. Their waitress arrived, clearing off the plates and asking if they'd like some dessert. Hellion quickly said no, and looked at the bill as it was laid down.
He smiled at Ari. "The only thing they have here for desert is an old cheesecake that's on par with the school's food. If you'd like something, we could go womewhere else..."
He counted out the money, absently, leaving a good-sized tip. The waitress returned, and he handed it to her, saying the change was for her. He turned back to Ari, smiling.
