Well, this is rather unexpected.

One of my dogs was ran over last nite. About midnight. The driver did not do it on purpose. He was coming home from work and actually driving the speed limit.

My old dog was 15 yrs old and had a good life. Broke her back and other stuff. It was my fault actually. I had a long day, let her out w/me and I feel asleep on the little porch leaning back on the doorway after I sat down. She had to poop. Walked out into the road.....I didn't think she could walk that far actually. She's been getting pretty bad.

Well, she's been having all sorts of problems and I've considered putting her to sleep - but thought I was delaying the inevitable.

Been having a rough spell lately and this dog has been w/me through thick and thin. So.....guess I'll be dealing w/this matter however long it takes to do so properly.

Other dogs of course. But this one....she was rather special. So gentle, loving, and the heart of a lion. A wolf in battle......this one is tougher to deal with than I thought. So much to do the more I think about it.:(

Let the good memories be your solace. 15 years of happiness! I am sorry for your loss. :rose:

I am so sorry to hear about your dog. It wasn't your fault. Accidents happen whether you want them to or not. It was an accident. It sounds like your dog had a pretty great life and got to live well. It doesn't make it any easier when we have to say goodbye. Let's face it pets are family. My pets have meant a lot to me. If you need to vent you can pm. Thinking of you!:rose:

he committed suicide.

even if you are a flaming shithead, i'm still sorry about your dog. losing a pet is harder than losing a human. i can empathize with your pain. but that doesn't mean we're engaged or anything.

This isn't one of those elaborate and charming stunts I'm so fond of doing here lately. I mean, this particular dog has been through a lot of shit she shouldn't have to have gone through. She was really my wife's dog and I remember being a prick about this dog too. This dog's mama had her among a litter of 6 and, for some reason, she became our favorite. My wife and kids loved this dog and so did I as time went on.

Fuck, the little (if you call her little) old gal has been here with me since we sold the old place to pay off debts after the wife died....she wouldn't have wanted us to leave this dog behind.

So now, I'm waiting for the driver of the local pound to bring her home. Don't want her carcass left in a strange place. But they called me 1st to decide on putting her to sleep and I gave the ok. Called the kids and their on they're way I think. Maybe this hits my daughter the most. I'm sure she's bawling about it now.

So, I've had a few moments addressing more important matters. Took time off from the new job, made calls on more pressing matters....

Last night, after I woke from my spot on the porch, I sort of waltzed to the scene and there the dog was in the middle of the road. Not moving. A small crowd gathered around her. They cleared a path as I digested all of this. Then I touched her and she was still alive. And that look of helplessness I know so well. I laid there briefly in the road trying to hug her. She had shit herself, blood oozing out of a big gash above her prettiest eye where that funky spot of black hair is.

Then, I seen there were only men about...the look on their faces. I gripped myself and started dealing w/it. For a moment, I thought of asking if someone had a gun to put her out of her misery, but no. I couldn't. She was already on her way to wherever good doggies go when they die. I guess she's more well known to the locals than I thought. I took her everywhere whenever I could. She loved riding in the car. And other stupid shit she did only with me.

So, it's all good now. And this too shall pass. She on her way home and she'll get a proper sending off. This posting somehow helps keep my mind occupied. More important things to do than this. So I'll do that other shit now.

My Condolences

Very sorry to hear of your loss

Funny how a ball of fur works their way into your life. Then, becomes an appendage that you can't live without

Man, I would say something nice, but I am just not sold on this not being a performance piece.

AJ, mark your calendar. This may be one of the very few days all year that I agree with you one hundred percent.

ThatsTheQue has been averaging 66 posts per day, and had already posted 32 posts since 2 a.m. before bringing up his deceased dog.

And in those 32 posts, he managed to make a comment about a missing dog and also about a funeral service.

Twelve hours into his shitposting marathon, his dog dies suddenly.

if your only companion was this sack of sad shit wouldn't you have run into traffic by now?

i don't know about this. i'd hate to think anyone was sick enough to fake a dog's death, even the shithead. that's like begging the cosmos to rain down every kind of bad juju there is on your shit.

Fakery has never been in short supply on this site.

It ranks right behind flattery, ass-hattery, skulduggery and buggery.

Losing a good dog sucks, I lost mine a few years ago. He was with me for 15 years, hitchhiked across Canada with me, great dog. I was sad when he passed, then I realized it's a dog and I got over it pretty quick.
