West Richland Tavern.

"Just so I'm clear, I work in a brothel, you are one of the 'girls' and I have bad manners - sum it up for you OK?" Rex responded.

"I don't recall manners, except with the customers, as part of the job. I think you are really beautiful, I'm glad you make money doing what you do, and I appreciate you taking over for Hannah."

"In case you haven't notice, I pretty much speak my mind. Whether you like it or not!"

"Oh yea, I never was taught manners anyway and the ones I did learn went by the wayside when I was an addict. Sorry if I offend you."

"But you can't say shit like that right in front of a customer Rex, thats what it comes down to. You never know who is listening, lots of people wouldn't mind causing trouble for this place so if you want to keep this job you will keep that in mind, got it?"

She exited gracefully without waiting for his answer. There were a few things Tess couldn't handle and blatant idiocracy was one of them.

Alexa heard Tess's and Rex's argument and sighed softly. After Tess left she went over to Rex and tried to give him a reassuring smile.

"Look, I heard everything," she said. "I'm not going to lecture you. You both had good points, but Tess is right. We don't know if there's someone here that, for the right price, will give information away and cause trouble for us. What if this place shuts down? Then we're all out on our asses." She smiled. "Just. . . keep what this place REALLY is down to a minimum, alright? And try not to get on Tess's bad side." She gently touched his arm reassuringly. "Mkay?"

"What an ass!" Rex said as Tess walked away. He meant her tush because he really did not care what she had said to him. People had said worse all his life.

His response to Alexa was to just smile at her. He thought she was sweet but naive but he did appreciate what she said.

He headed back into the tavern and moved to some table to take orders.

Tess stepped into him as he leaned in, knowing it was probably driving him crazy. His voice in her ear made her almost shudder but she felt calm. None of thr nervousness that had plagued her since the incident had returned.

She was very close to him now, she could smell his expensive cologne. Most men worse too much of it, but Daniel didn't. Tess' body was almost pressing against his, she tilted her head slightly to look up at him.

"Meet me upstairs in the lounge and I will tell you everything you want to know," her voice was sweet as honey with a dark seductive undertone.

Daniel, saw the look in her eye, saw something flicker, knew that he could get lost in them if he wasn't careful... He could feel the heat radiating off her body, filling the oxygen that separated their bodies'.

The sound of glass sliding against wood momentarily broke the tension that had been building quicker than a summer storm, Daniel turned for a moment and nodded a silent thank you to the bar tender who also gave his silent acknowledgement.

Daniel looked down at the crystal clear liquid before returning hi gaze to Tess. It felt like minutes since Tess had spoken but it had only been a few seconds "promises, promises" he said with a smile before watching Tess slowly slink off toward the staircase.

Tess ignored Rex's last comment even though she should have turned around and slapped him silly. She went upstairs and noticed Daniel was still finishing his drink at the bar. She'd give him 5 minutes to get his sexy attorney ass up here before she rescinded her offer. She was in no mood to play now.

She sat down on the chaise and waited, fiddling with her hair and straightening her corset.

Alexa winked at the young attorney, knowing that he was in for a good time as she made her way back over to Jack. "Have you decided on anything yet, Sir?" she asked sweetly, a big smile on her face.

DJ was keeping himself to the music tonight, happy to keep the mood going with the music. He could see Tess and Alexa circling the floor, taking drink and food orders, possibly seeing if customers wanted more. He wondered what Alexa was wanting to do between the two of them. He could see something pretty good starting, but wasn't sure exactly what Alexa would want. He shook his head, before going back to scanning the crowd and working the music.

Rex grabbed a couple of orders from several tables and filled them at the bar. He moved through the tavern humming along with the tunes DJ had playing. He and Alexa were now working the floor since Tess had gone upstairs. Rex noticed that the john was still in the tavern.

He smiled as Alexa whenever they were close at hand waiting tables but did not speak.

He had a table near DJ and stopped to talk with him.

"Hey DJ, I saw you were a good pool player. I'd like to learn to play, if you don't mind showing me how. I've knocked the balls around a few times when I've been here alone but have no clue how to really play."

Daniel summited the stairs and his eyes, adjusting to the dimmer light, focused on Tess. In three confident strides he was at her side. She was sitting on a chaise adjusting her outfit.

He looked down at her, his black silk tie bridging the void between them, his eyes were alert and hungry..."I believe you promised some illegal activities?"

Troy saw a customer heading upstairs and glided through the bar and took a post at the base of the stairs leaning casually on the rails. He was not going to be caught out like last time. If there was any trouble he could be up and through the door quicker than Rex could insult a lady.
He noted that it was Tess and mentally mapped the route to her room then went back to observing the bar.

I had waffled back and forth, I hated calling an old friend for work but at this point I was desperate. Ever since I got out of the military I was looking, found a few small security jobs but nothing that was truly decent. I remembered Hannah always said she had work at her bar, but I was reluctant to call. I finally swallowed my pride and called her up.

The line rang as I waited nervously to hear her voice on the other end.

The soft ringing startled Hannah as she readied herself for the evening, she was late but she didn't really care. She had been filling out pay checks for the girls and her fellas. Carefully she folded them into an envelope and stashed them in her bra.
After the third ring she answered, "Hello, Hannah speaking what can I do for you?" Her voice was soft and warm despite her rush to apply makeup and finish dressing.

"Hey Hannah, Its Justin. Remember me?" I asked. The line was silent for a moment, no doubt she was trying to figure out which Justin I was, but I knew it'd come to her.. "Justin from a couple years ago, I just got out of the military, ringing any bells?"

"Oh yeah... yeah..." Her voice was slightly labored as he tightened her corset about her waist. She let out a soft huff before speaking again. "How're you Justin? Anything you need?" A smile touched her lips by pure habit. A new employee was on his way, she could feel it.

She started up the stairs as she waited for his reply, her boot heels clicking softly. She decided to.play waitress today and allow Rex to bartend.

Rex saw Hannah come upstairs from behind the bar where he was fixing the next round for the table near the pool table. He wanted to stop and watch the game but with only he and Alexa working the floor he needed to hustle.

"Hi Hannah" Rex said when she was close enough to speak in a normal tone. "I'll work the tables with Alexa now that you are here."

"That I did," she teased softly as she tugged at his tie.

She gave him her best bedroom eyes before continuing,"Tell me what you want, handsome."

DJ looked at Rex, before sizing him up. "Go shoot a game or two and I'll watch. I can't tell you what to do though until I see how you play on your own, when you're not trying to impress me," he said, before going back to the music. He was still scanning the crowd, noticing that a guy went upstairs following Tess. He saw Troy move to the base of the stairway, and nodded. It was already shaping up to be better than last time, if something happened.

"Once we close, too busy right now, and since Hannah is waiting tables I need to be at the bar. But thanks."

DJ shrugged before nodding. "Okay. Either way, just go shoot. Don't tell me. I'll pick up on it and watch you, see if I can help you," he said, before rubbing his temples and concentrating on the music. He was starting to develop a migraine, which unfortunately would only get worse.

Hannah simply locked her phone and.slipped her head phones in one ear leaving the other free to listen. She nestled the device between her breasts and began waiting tables in a beautiful furry. No one seemed to take a liking to her as they did Tess, and that stung a bit. She flirted sweetly and came across as warm and kind, not exactly the kind of person you'd want to mindlessly fuck.
She watched over everything as she made her rounds. Mama henning as her mother would have called it.

Troy watched as Hannah waited on her tables. She looked good tonight like she always did and she was bright and cheerful. It appeared that she was feeling better and he hoped that she was and it was all not just an act. He spent his time watching her, Listening for any disturbances from upstairs and checking out the crowd. So far they had seemed to attract a pretty decent sort of clientele, but he knew it only took one guy to start a ruckus.

She hummed softly along to the music and received several cat calls as the men and women got a little drunker. She was mindful of one guy specifically who kept running his thin fingers through her hair, calling her babe, and taking her full ass cheek into his hand. Finally he crossed the line when he reached for her phone. She rested the tray abruptly upon his table. Brought her arm back and punched the bridge of his nose. A sickening pop echoed through the tavern, only to be drowned out by the man's deep wail and the heavy thump of the music. Soon after blood gushed, and Hannah offered him the stack of napkins on her tray, she then left in silence to refill their drinks, her hand already swelling and starting to throb.

"I need some ice." She grumbled to Rex in hushed tones as she reached the bar. "There was an... accident."

Troy heard the wail and looked over to see Hannah walking away from a table and some guy holding his nose as it fountained blood. Obviously someone had stepped out of line and gotten slapped back into place. just to be sure though he started to make his way towards the table. As he got closer he could see the look of anger in the guys eyes and even as he tried to staunch the flow of blood with a stack of napkins his glare got angrier as he stared at Hannah's back.

Troy could see this guy was going to be trouble. He had two choices. Throw him out now before he caused trouble and look like he was overreacting. Or wait until he tried something and then hope he was quick enough to stop it. With Tess still upstairs he decided to err on the side of caution.

Approaching from behind he grabbed the guys shoulder in his big hand, grasping it firmly. "Excuse me sir, we do not take kindly to people manhandling our waitresses. If you will kindly follow me I will show you the door. You are now banned from this establishment for the next three months. Try to enter during that time and it becomes a lifetime ban."

Troy then picked the guy up and over his protests carried him through the crowd and out the door. Placing him on the sidewalk he pointed to his right. "Go that way and you will find a row of taxis. They will take you wherever you want to go."

The man glared daggers at him but Troy just smiled at him and then leaned in closer. "Pal your welcome to try but at the moment I am pissed off and tired so I just may end up forgetting my manners and breaking a few important parts on you. Also before you think about revenge find out who's ass you just played with. Now piss off before I do get angry."

Troy watched the guys face pale a little as he started to walk up the street and he turned and walked back in going back to his place at the bottom of the stairs.

Hannah turned after getting ice for the man but stopped when she saw his absence. She noticed Troy make his way back to the stairs and she sighed. Quietly she rested the ice on her knuckles and made her way back to the tables.
