What’s Crossing Your Mind II

Brunette, athletic, sleazy, and demure. Yep. That's my type, too. And yet, Sharon Stone was easily the hotter of the two. Now in Basic Instinct, where Stone was supposed to be this irresistible sexpot, I was all about Jeanne Tripplehorn.

How did she not become a huge star?

How did she not become a huge star?
I have no fucking idea. Two of her first films were Basic Instinct (where, again, as far as I'm concerned she stole all the sexy in that film) and then The Firm. Maybe her involvement with Waterworld shortly thereafter stalled her career? As if that was her fault. She did get a nice run with her role in Big Love. But, yeah, I don't get it.

Julia Ormond is another actress that I feel should've been much bigger and more prominent on the scene than she was.

Waterworld destroyed any momentum that she had and though she's mostly recovered, it still hangs over her head in the minds of the public.

Personally, I don't think it's that bad of a movie.

Counting foreign box office, it made a small profit
A lot of the people who don't like the movie, bitch and whine about the acting.

They are forgetting that the acting is supposed to be wooden, because it's set in a post apocalyptic time period.
