What are the odds?

..... try not to think about getting pregnant too much. I swear, it's a curse!

It's always fun to plan, though.
WE are planning to have a baby. I swear, he's more in tune with my cycles than I am. This will be our first child and I don't know which one of us is more excited. Me or him???? Telling him I'm ovulating is like watching a kid at Christmas :p

Really? Huh, I thought that was bad. I thought the egg attached to the uteran wall and was fertilized there. I guess one of the big scares for my wife has always been a tubal pregnancy, where a fertilized egg is stuck in the tube. I never was much of a biology guy, I was more into the physical sciences. Like Sex. :D
More of a hands-on kinda guy, eh? ;)

It's only bad if the fertilized egg STAYS in the fallopian tube or implants somewhere other than the uterus.

Wow! These are really great comments, guys! Bobsgirl, dcraz, quoll, Scaly, etc.: Your stories have brought warmth to a cold day. :rose:

TBK, no need to worry about hijacking; my questions were answered, and I'm just as happy to stray from the topic. I know my regularity bodes well for fertility, but I prefer to play the "expect the worst, hope for the best" game to avoid frustration and disappointment. If I start thinking it's not going to be an issue, I believe we may put off trying and get stressed if we're unsuccessful. We've had friends who have done that, and it's now causing a lot of heartache and straining the marriage, so I want to try a different route. :)

:) It is really, really neat. Lovemaking is so much more intense and intimate when you both know that the act could result in a baby. Personally, those were some of the most erotic times for MrB and me.

Ah, memories... :rose:
Thank you so much for sharing this, it never occurred to me (we're childless and I'm feeling a little sad about it at the moment...)

Been there, done that. Twice in fact. On one hand you are taking the right approach, but don't become pessimistic, you're too young for that. ;)

My wife has become very pessimistic even though her doctor has flat out told her she should be able to concieve. All those years of trying and failing took a toll on her and now she's almost scared to hope, I think. It's all about having realistic expectations. The reality of it is though there's no way around the fact that you're going to get your emotions and your hopes up when you actually start trying. Though when you're talking about bringing a new life into the world, emotion isn't really a bad thing, is it? :)
