I don't think it really matters with Kings books. The movies leave out most of the intricacies and nuance of his stories, that it's like reading something completely new.

Luckily for me, they've only adapted Mr. Mercedes for the screen so the others should be totally "new."

The Stranding was bloody brilliant. Highly recommend.
