My first time trying a new recipe is usually a disappointment even if followed exactly.

Not sure why. Maybe my expectations are too high that first time

Same for me, usually. These came out great, amazingly. I think part of the problem is following the recipe too exactly - being too rigid with it. Cooking apparently requires intuition and flair, both of which I don’t have!

Sure!! I think @Shymidwestgirl gave me one, too, but it required real bacon which I never have (we only do turkey bacon).
