What category could you NEVER write?

Not sure why Anal is a category at all. And if so, why not have a category for "Oral"?

It's mostly a result of the fact that the site is 25 years old. I wrote about it a little in Loving Loving Wives while discussing how categories have changed since then:

Kinks are transgressive. That's what makes them kinks; if everyone liked them, they wouldn't be kinks. They tickle the part of our brain that says, "this is extra naughty, and you shouldn't like it, but you do." Anal sex has stopped being seen as really transgressive by almost anyone under about 50 years old that's likely to be on Literotica; they might not like it, but it's just a thing.

Back when the site was founded, anal sex culturally occupied roughly the same spot that oral sex did for the generation before it: your girlfriend or boyfriend might balk at doing it, but they wouldn't think you were an awful pervert just for asking. These days, oral sex is pretty much mandatory, and anal is a thing that's not particularly transgressive. Now, pegging and analingus occupy that same liminal space between transgressive and accepted that "regular" anal sex did in the late 90s and early 2000s.

It's starting to seem like there's almost nowhere else for that progression to go. Maybe it will come full circle and we'll need a category for the transgressive kink of hetero two-person missionary position under the covers with the lights off.

I mean... that's basically what the tradwife thing is, except that it's not actually transgressive; they just tell themselves it is.

Cool, I'm so vanilla that I've become kinky!

As probably the most vanilla writer here, there are several categories that do not interest me. However, forced to choose just one it would have to be celeb. I just can't respect it. Yes, I get it that famous people are icons and can be used as metaphors, but when someone writes Katy Perry in a gangbang because she lost a bet, that's not the icon (and it's hardly something actually brilliant like Being John Malkovich), that's a writer perving publicly on a real person and that's going too far.

I'm not opposed to fanfic so I suppose that I could still write in the category, but I have too much fun writing my own characters to write someone else's so I doubt that I ever will.

Catergories I couldn't write a story for:
- Humor and Satire.
My stories do have some funny incidents, but I just can't make it one big joke. I wouldn't know how to, and I'm just not into it myself.
- Letters and Transcripts
Words of affirmation would be my 4th out of 5 love languages. I would like to be better at it, but so far it just isn't a thing for me.
- Mature
Which for me means sex between older people, not just the main character. I am 28, I doubt it would become a relatable story that is fun for me and the reader.

I’ll say this: if i ever did a Celebrities one, it would be something like Ea-Nasir (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Complaint_tablet_to_Ea-nāṣir) and where all the good copper he promised went.

Yeah, a historical celeb might be fun. Probably involving time travel.

Though this makes me wonder if I could just make up a completely fake celeb and bluff my way through it. Like, everybody is too embarrassed to admit that they are so out of touch that they've never heard of this person.

I've only ever written in BDSM and two in GM (although I think one of them should have been BDSM) and two in Erotic Couplings. If I could figure out the difference between BDSM and NC/R, I might find myself writing in NC/R. But that's it. Can't imagine writing in any other category.

Celebrity/Fan Fiction to be sure. I mean, I'd love to read all about Harry and Ron spit roasting Hermione(Oh, come on, you know it happened).
I just don't think I could handle the weight of the existing world JKR built and the expectations of the millions of fans out there that love it.
The same would be true for picking up the mantel of any existing work. The more popular, the heavier the assumed responsibility to be true to characters I had nothing to do with shaping.
To be fair, you already mentioned the very low bar that exists in Harry Potter fanfics

I totally get that it's out there, and I'm sure somewhere Hagrid is taking very special care of Buckbeak in ways I really don't want to know about and that Snape is on his knees showing Dumbledore the true extent of his loyalty. I just don't feel I could ever do someone else's characters justice since I don't know them like their creators do.

I thought I could never write I/T, flipped through a bunch of the stories to try to figure out what the readers liked, got an idea and produced a story that still worked with my morals (a few readers complained the siblings 'basically had a one-night-stand' because they decided a certain weekend was never to be repeated and got on with the rest of their lives.

Out of what I've not written, I could drop some stories in IR or LW that meet the stated criteria. And fanfic and Mature. I recently did a story that was mainly interracial sex, but was actually more about age gaps - but it was in GM.

NC/R would be the hardest for me because I could tread along the line of reluctance vs rape, but it would be tricky and I'm repulsed by too many of the stories there to want to do any more research myself.

At some point I'll try translating a story or two. Does the AI ban include Google Translate, I wonder?

There's categories here I wouldn't write in for lack of interest, and I don't feel compelled to spend precious time writing something just to say I could, but I don't have anything against them, just not my thing.

I think my only "I'd never" would be interracial as in the category not an actual interracial scene, I've done those, but the category itself just appalls me with how a lot of it is portrayed. I feel the same for any Black bull type story in LW, On that topic, I've written in LW, but would never write a BTB story. I leave those for the CMI crowd.

This is why I decided to do my story. It's based off the Dragon Age game series and I love the fact that they didn't put any back story into the protagonists in the game. I can make my own story up and give them a back story all the way up to the start of the games. I've got literal freedom to give my two protags a life before the game, with some twists lol.

It also really makes me happy that they left the ending of the two protags from the first two games up in the air. It lets me play around more with my Hawke and Cousland if I so chose after the events of the two games. But I would never have done this if DA wouldn't have left so much open.

I never thought I'd write non-con but I did because I got a good idea for a story. And I have a second one in the works. So I can't say never on any category. But there are those that I have no interest in. GM, Interracial pop to mind.

I could never write about two men being together, not that I have a problem with that, I don't, but I could never write about it and I have no interest. Wouldn't even know how to do that lol.

I mean... I'm sure there are diagrams.

and lots of online porn. 😆

More seriously, I suppose writing sex scene between two men isn't all that much different. Although I don't know that I could capture the more emotional elements.

it'd be an interesting challenge.

I'm going to do one at some point. A little bit of a May/December thing, with the experienced one being the younger man and the newcomer the older. I'm sure it's been done before (probably a lot), but it sounds sweet to me.
