We were at the dairy case; she needed help to reach a container of organic 2% milk, which I was happy to get for her. I asked her why she got that particular type, etc., and the conversation continued. She did not have a cart, evidently had just come in for the milk and one other item I don't remember. She accepted the flirt card and said it would be nice to have someone other than herself to have dinner with (her way of indicating her singleness; she had no wedding ring). I said text me, and we can get together. Her last words: "You might be surprised". We parted at that.

She was my third grocery store chat-up card recipient since I started a week ago; no callbacks yet, but I plan to play those odds. Sounds promising, yes?
