Thanks luscious lioness, this weekend was so much more difficult than I thought it would be. I guess I just put so much emphasis on it being the one year anniversary, now I don't know where I go from here. My therapist is a great help, I am trying to avoid meds. My dad & my fiancee are both on medication for severe clinical depression. If it hadn't been for the meds, I don't they would have survived this past year. Ian, I also think you might want to seek professional help, it has been a lifesaver for us.

Beautiful music... right amount of alcohol and I deliberately let myself seep into deep depression... cause it is then that I write my poetry. Unlike most others I like my case of melancholic paranoi that seems to come in that state.

To get myself out of depression

Lose myself in a book

Good loud music

Go bush and look at real nature

Make love

Eat a nice meal

Live life

Ian, that's why you tell your doctor the medicine isn't working, and get switched to another one. Keep trying until you find one that works, or you run out of meds to try. There's got to be one that will work for you.

As with April's advice about your meds, the same thing applies with a therapist. The practice of mental health is as much an art form as it is a science. Simply because you had a bad experience with one therapist doesn't mean that there isn't another out there that could help you. You need to keep trying until you find the right one and when that happens, the change in your life will be extraordinary.
