I'm NOT defending her at all, but some people could consider Ukraine to be part of Asia, as it's not that clear where Europe ends and Asia begins. It's almost more a question of semantics than actual geography.

When the panel’s chairman, Tennessee Republican Mark Green, asked if Ms Greene would withdraw her statement, she refused.

He immediately ruled that she’d violated the rules and ordered the words stricken from the record.

“It’s pretty clear that the rules state you can’t impugn someone’s character, identifying or calling someone a liar is unacceptable in this committee, and I make the ruling that we strike those words,” he said.

He added that Ms Greene was “no longer recognised,” meaning she could not finish her questioning of Mr Mayorkas. Under House rules, she would be barred from any subsequent rounds of questioning during the Wednesday hearing.

Forsyth County was one of the most racist counties in Georgia in the 20th century.
They "evicted" every black person in the county in 1912 after race riots (6 other counties did as well).
The "coloreds" staged a small civil rights march there in 1987, the local townfolk turned out to throw rocks at them.
It got tremendous coverage on the Atlanta news.
The following week the "coloreds" had another march, about 100 times larger, loaded with civil rights activists and celebrities, and none of the local townfolk were brave enough to chuck rocks this time.

That footage is scary because it was so recent, but yet, it does explain how people like Marjorie Tylor Greene can exist.
The only difference between then and now is, people are getting elected to office expressing these same Klan-like views, in fact open racism and hate has almost become fashionable among a certain set of politicians. Back then, those kind of sentiments may have been more common among the white trash, but elected leaders typically had a bit more class.

Now, we have a real chance that an open hatemonger (DeSantis) may even become our next president. Based on that scary fact, I would even argue that race relations in the USA have actually regressed since 1987.
