Honestly these facts are unrelated. Besides It's highly debatable not only how many deaths happened period but how many are fair to attribute to Stalin himself. While dead is dead and he deserves to be demonized for that there is a world of difference between I'm killing you on purpose, I don't care if you die and well that's a bit annoying. I can't find any truly reliable sources yet to quote but I'm seeing around the net that Putin's head of security, Victor Zolotov, is being reported dead. That combined with Putin having been scarce recently may mean that his Grand Design amounts to "Holy shit, holy shit, holy shit, I don't want to be like Saddam found in a hole with a beard."
