I think I love the burn of gin more than the actual taste lol.

I kind of feel that way about straight up navy rum. I usually mix it, but on rare occasions when I need (need, haha) a hit of something strong, I down a shot of navy rum. I find the punch of fire soothing.

I like really peaty whisky, the first taste is like TCP (antiseptic) but then it hits you like a smack in the mouth and the glorious warmth kicks in, aaaah!
