i am a comic book enthusiest and this just offends me. that basterdized cat woman. selina kyle is a white blond with big juggs. hally is not. and they also changed the story to how she became catwoman. here is a quick rundown from a site

Catwoman's origin story is a little different in the movie; though Catwoman was introduced in 1992's Batman Returns, this version of the character is completely disassociated from the Dark Knight. Instead of the familiar Selina Kyle, this story is about Patience Philips, an artist whose employers eliminate her when she learns too much about their misdeeds. An Egyptian cat artifact resurrects her with mystical powers (work with us here) and she returns to life as Catwoman.

If I didnt mention it before Mystique was initially intended to be lesbian~she had a lover in the form of destiny~a mutant precog who foretold her own death. Since then Mystiques popularity has soared in the comics and shes been "hetted " up as shes had affairs with Wolveroine and Sabretooth but Im hoping Marvel at least remembers the characters roots or at least recognizes her bisexuality.

yup...elementals was a great comic. it was the authority of its time. i actually liked the later issues that werent illustrated by willingham.

its actually quite interesting to see how the comic book industry has changed its attitude regarding gay characters, in 1985 the only referances to homosexuality were pretty derogatory. In the Watchmen the gay members of the golden age Minutemen (Captain Metropolis,the hooded justice and the Silhouette) all met with grisly deaths. It was alluded that the Jokers insanity stemmed from his attraction to Batman in The Dark Knight Returns and the only gay characters around couldnt mention they were gay and were very,very over the top stereotypical.


Things sure have changed alot.

i keep reccomending it here but definately pick up the Enigma trade paperback. Its hard to believe it was originally published 11 years ago. The eight issue mini series tells the tale of Micheal..a normal average guy whos unhappy with his life when his favorite childhood comic book hero comes to life and the two brecome lovers. its such an amazing story mostly becouse the subject matter totally takes you by surprise.

Also in in the pages of Ultimate X~Men Colossus is gay!

I agree the artwork didnot suffer...but the plotting was never as good, and the charachterizations went wonko
