What's next, Knife Control?

Do you even THINK that maybe the invectives you and others use can be traced as part of the cause?

It starts with you. Shut up or shut up.

No it doesn't.

I am not responsible for another person's actions.

Unless you don't believe in personal responsibility and want to apply the same logic to any violent acts performed by someone on the left.

But you won't do that because that's different because reasons.

4 dead and 2 wounded in 2 hours.

Compare that with Dayton shooting where there were 9 dead in 32 seconds.

Since we can't stop killings, the next best thing is to reduce the speed with which people can kill others.

Ah. I sincerely did not see where you were going with that.

It seems to me that mass murderers are likely to have a couple of different motivations some it might be both. Some people are just raging lashing out or getting some sort of pleasure out of it. I don't think in those cases it's likely to matter much to them how many people they kill. Probably more likely to be scored at settling scores with the people that they kill coworkers family neighbors that sort of thing.

The ones that want fame want numbers and I dont see a way to thwart that. I think it is valid now that big black scary weapons are the attention getters weapon of choice making it a little harder for crazy people to get those isn't a horrible idea. I'm not a big fan of doing things on the basis of if it saves just one life. But likely those kind of measures might delay somebody from going on a shooting spree because they're still trying to figure out how to get the big black scary weapon that they think they need for that particular activity.

The whole back-and-forth thing with the El Paso shooter being aligned with Trump on immigration and the Toledo shooter being ignored because he's a leftist is dumb. Seems like we should be focusing on the actual problem which is people wanting to get attention are killing large numbers of people.

The most important thing that could be done about any of these shootings is to starve these shootings of attention and I don't think that's ever going to happen.

Just like in this thread about knives and it's a bit of a distraction it's still horrible that somebody's killing other people for no reason, there will be a shooter in the future who does not use a rifle. He'll walk in with two or three handguns with multiple magazines he'll know how to use them and it will be just as effective. The problem is you don't need a rifle to shoot unarmed people you don't need any specific gun. You don't even need a gun at some point someone's going to do something similar with explosives or some kind of an accelerant like gasoline. It's going to be horrific. When that happens nobody's going to want to talk about the fact that the earlier narrative on big black scary guns wasn't really the problem.

I think everybody no matter where they are coming from is understandably horrified by this and sincerely would like to see it stopped and that their suggestions no matter what the suggestion are are probably impractical.

In 2017 the FBI Reported the Following:

403 people were killed by Rifles

1597 were killed by Knives

The politicians are obviously are bought and paid for by the NKA - National Knife Association!

Where is the "OUTRAGE" ?
Comparing rifles to knives is like comparing bananas to vegetables. Where is the “COMPARISON?”
