What's the point of decentralized government anyway?

Nothing......just like with all the other stuff.

We're going to tell you guys to eat a fuckin dick and have a nice day pounding sand.

And you're going to say "THAT'S RACIST!!" and we'll laugh at you and that's pretty much going to be it. ;)

Until the courts issue orders, and you won't tell them to eat a fuckin dick -- the red-state election officials will comply with those orders.

We already have. Red state officials are not complying with all sorts of stuff now.

So have blue states.

Joe Biden just flat out defied the courts.....he thinks he's fuckin Dictator in Chief, and nothing will come of it.

Just like nothing will come of all the red states giving blue states the finger.

If you're not going to carpet bomb us back into the stone age and kill 100 million American citizens then FUCK YOU.

You're not shit and you don't get to tell us what's what....you're just a bunch of punk bitches talking a bunch of shit.

Joe Biden and Blue states can give the courts the finger for pretty much whatever they want.

Red states are doing it for guns, free speech and to protect their schools from Democrats and their racist bullshit.

I don't see why states can't give the feds and the courts the finger on this too.

... because you are wrong on this....there is no finger...courts decideand red states do what the courts determine.

You don't understand because your an absolute idiot!!!!!!!
As everyone know here.

Wait . . . Let's think about this . . .

Yea, because that's where this ends up.

... because you are wrong on this....there is no finger...

Sure there is, it's called the "sanctuary" maneuver.

It's the middle finger.

courts decideand red states do what the courts determine.

And just like blue states, the red states give them the finger.

LOL...that's fantastic.

And ad hom is not an argument.;)

None of that is a very strong argument for decentralized government. Rather the reverse.

I'm in better touch with reality than you. You deny the obvious transformation in both the ideologies and the constituencies in the major parties since the 1950s. You seem to believe or wish to pretend the Deep State actually exists.

And, I'm really no more a Marxist than you are. Neither is Bernie. Socialist =/= Marxist. Marxism is always tempting to a leftist because it tells you time is on your side, but few can take it seriously any more. What new political movements or rebellions even call themselves Marxist nowadays?

The "Deep State" does exist. It's called the bureaucracy. Unelected, unaccountable, busybodies totally out of touch with the everyday lives of the citizenry, sitting in DC making rules for everyone. This comes about as a result of what is known as "delegated legislation." Congress passes an outline of a law, just the outline, because they just can't be bothered to cross every 'T' or dot every 'I'. They leave it to the administration to fill in the blanks. The administration then further delegates this job to the nameless, faceless, drones sitting in the ugly concrete buildings in DC. These drones multiply every year and in order to justify their existence they figure out more 'rules' to write that the rest of us, no matter where we live, must follow. At the end of their busy day they commute to their houses in the VA or MD suburbs and dress up for the cocktail party going on that night where they can sit around and drop the names of who they know with their fellow attendee's.

If these unelected, unaccountable, drones don't like the directives given by the elected members of the administration they just merely drag their feet or leak false information to the press. Fully 80% of these drones could be put on the street tomorrow and the nation not only would suffer no ill effects, we'd probably be better off. And as a side effect we'd probably save millions of trees to boot.

And by the way, if you think that system is bad the Chinese system is even worse. It's actually our system on steroids where the party drones are on every block shaking down the citizens and playing the part of someone of great importance, which they aren't.

Socialism is merely Communism Light. Every nation that's tried it has failed. Sweden is the only Western nation that tried it and they came to their senses before they went over the cliff. Read the linked article.

Sweden's Experiment with Socialism.

It is far more sinister than you, apparently, want to believe. Those drones have exactly ZERO interest in the welfare of the citizenry. They're only interested in their own security and power.

Security, maybe. Nobody goes into the civil service for the power.

After reading Belisarius's post...I get the feeling he and others have never met an actual govt employed person he describes.

While I agree that many mediocre to poor govt employees do exist....it matches what happens in any other business that is not in the public sector.

Maybe more to the point.... efficiency isn't always a priority in govt jobs, at least from what I've seen and interacted with...that is something I would expect from the public govt jobs....higher level.efficiency.

These folks should experience other countries govts as a comparison. France govt workers have a month to 6weeks off every year and around holidays govt processed work grinds to a halt every year...it is a fact of life there

And making statements based on "feelings" is one of the greatest contributors to ignorance known to man.

I spent the greater part of my working career dealing with the government as well as a stint (two actually but I'm not counting the military) as a government employee myself. I've met more than I can count.

This is exactly right.

Ok, great....you have first hand experience.

How do we change the culture of this type of govt?

Federal, State and Local....three very different entities and they all are mixed in my opinion.

I'll give you an example of how I would like to see more centralization:

Public School Districts(this is Govt, quasi but still)....some 38,000 of them across the US.

Where I live in with 4 miles of 4 different totally separate entities that have nothing to do with each other.

The redundancy and repetition of basic functions adds tremendous costs to this sort of system and that equates to higher taxes for all the homeowners who have to pay in...it is not efficient.

Do we need all these Districts or can they be more regional or state wide?

Federal Govt... going with the lowest bid....this has to.change or include a more rigorous look at quality of services and products delivery by outside contractors, but also, the process needs to be way faster and efficit on the govt side so things get done.

No country that hasn't dabbled has ever lasted long enough to be recognized by actual nations.

Well, only if you define "socialism" broadly enough to encompass practically any public service other than defense and policing.
