What's Your Style?

Was earlier today. If I still have nipples, I'm not sure I can feel them anymore. My furnace can't keep up....it is only 52 degrees inside the house. I went and spent $80 on a damn electric blanket, which the great dane is hogging 90% of.

And just think, on sunday it was a blissful 50 above.

Mother Nature is a bitch.

I would mail you a space heater, from the great furnace death of last week.

Yeah, I was just out strolling in a sweater the other day. Planet's fucked.

But to un-hijack how are you covering those poor frozen nipples of yours?
We could probably have an "uglier coat" contest.

Thanks! This is really helping :D

And I don't have to worry to much about cold. Next week it's going to be almost 60. Don't hate me.

My "style" mainly consist:

jeans, jogging pants
t-shirts, hoddies, sweat shirts
tennis shoes, air walks, crops, flip flops (when weather permits)

If you are to look into my closet the main colors you would see is blue, green and pink.

eclectic...

.

So I don't have a decent style, except that I like to mix genres and fabrics and trends.

Ok,

Today: Blue Jeans and red tshirt - black platformy shoes.

Yesterday: Jeans and brown blouse - same sheos

Sunday: black shorts, white tank top (no shoes, didn't go anywhere)

Saturday: Jeans and brown blouse

Friday: Jeans, white shirt, black sweater

Thursday: Jeans, white shirt, white shoes (my soccer mom outfit)

Wed: jeans, brown shirt that says 'im right you're wrong any questions?'

Tue: long brown skirt, white shirt and white shoes.

That's F. And this one has horses and things, I just have to run from a car to a house!

Horses that are due to foal soon too. Sigh....Last year we turned our garage (heated) into a bona fida horse nursery

I hate coats. It's a point of contention with anyone that knows me....I hate coats. I tend to wear a lot of knitted shawls and stuff, which is not warm enough for anything-belowish-0.

Style...comfortable, cheap....I just don't care much about clothes. I like to look nice, but I don't go out of my way to get there.

Classic, functional, with a few (sometimes funky IE when I'm not wearing contact lenses I have on my tortoise shell cats eye glasses with embedded rhinestones) modern touches.

You know me, red, black, grey, white.

I'm a big fan of menswear inspired women's clothing. When I'm out of the house I almost always always wear trousers. I think I own maybe one pair of jeans, and I only wear them when I go to a farm, or camping or something.

Sometimes if I'm feeling particularly cheerful I may deviate and wear brown or blue.

*smirk*

If I had a favorite fashion icon, I'd say Katharine Hepburn.

"Dressing up is a bore. At a certain age, you decorate yourself to attract the opposite sex, and at a certain age, I did that. But I'm past that age." -Katharine Hepburn.

Sexy librarian mostly, with a hint of pinup girl.

I wear a lot of vintage and vintage-style stuff, high heels (always), glasses often (hence the librarian thing) and my hair in a messy bun.

My clothes are fitted, but generally not clingy. Fit is everything and worth the investment.

I think I have no style because I spend so much time creating other peoples'. I know now why the designer comes out at the end of a runway show in some black Georgia O Keefe hefty bag outfit nine times in ten and not their own duds - they have ceased to give a shit. I want to transition to black modernist things that hide my flaws if I have to dress up. Fashion has become like the ice cream in my ice cream shop these days - I can see why other people eat it, but I'm sick of the taste.

I have the opposite problem of what everyone else who has posted so far has complained of. Nine times out of ten it is too blazing hot to go too far beyond cool and comfy. My wardrobe has a evolved into mostly a collection of v-neck tees, tanks, and sarongs.

When I was younger, the funkier the better...then, it was the stereotypical goth art student black. When I do get that rare opportunity to step it up a bit, I go for the more classic looks...a nice jacket with a white or black shirt underneath, dark jeans or black dress pants, and heels; black wrap dress; or a white dress shirt, dark pants/jeans, and a funky belt...with heels of course. I'm limited with the waistlines moving up on styles these days. If it fits in the hips, you can use the waist as a basketball goal due to the gap in the back. That removes a lot of options when I'm looking for something new.

Work is the neo-prep uniform of polos and khakis and home is a tank or t-shirt and underwear or if it's chilly I will go so far as to throw on a pair of yoga pants.

I always thought that look was the hippest of all. The behind-the-scenes puppeteer who just orders 10 of everything...in black...a uniform.

Wide leg jeans, T's, Hoodies. Sketchers, or flip flops.

It depends on what I'm doing.

At home it's silk or satin robes or skin.

At work it's professional but rather low cut attire.

At leisure it's jeans and T's.

For formal events I'm all over the style page. Not that I get to go to those things very often.

For adult fun it's ho wear.

:D

Depends on the venue/setting.

At work I dress very sharp but fairly conservative.

When I'm going out.... kinda euro-trashy I guess, occasionally really out there shit.

At more casual events, urban/preppy.

At home, comfortable.

This is me, most of the time. Being a horsewoman does not make it easy to dress up most of the time.

When I do dress up, I tend to go all out, though. I guess to differentiate between "looking nice" and not, LOL. I'm moderately trendy and like high-heeled shoes. Most of the clothes in my closet are either black or jewel-toned (royal blue, deep purple, various shades of red, emerald green, fuschia, etc.) to coordinate with my coloring.

Layers.

Sta-puft man.

It's -35F.

Same here. It was -44C (around -46F?) yesterday morning without windchill factored in. (With wind, -52-4C or -60-3F?)

Edit:

-44.4C = -47.9F
-52.0C - -54.0C = -61.6F - -65.2F

Around the house I wear jeans and camisole tops with sweaters or just as is. I don't mind being cold. I wear cami's to bed too. I have about 20 in different colors and styles.

I wear them to work, too but not the ones that show lots of cleavage. And I war a jacket or sweater to make it more conservative.

In the summer I love long gauzy skirts.

I LOVE shoes. I refuse to wear ugly shoes. I prefer heels, especially a pair of ankle boots I have. I wear them all winter.

hahahaha! You'll have to arm wrestle midwestyankee more effectively for his duds next time.

So, Vanna, tell the audience what rosco rathbone would get to wear if he were to win this arm wrestling contest.

Certainly: For daily wear in the at-home office he would be in last year's jeans and a blue turtleneck, accessorized by last season's running shoes. When he goes out to speak to groups, he'll be in sharply pressed chinos, a tie-less button-down dress shirt and a blue blazer, typically with sensible oxford shoes from Allen Edmonds. The cognoscenti will notice that his belt, even when in business attire, is somewhat heavier than expected and could easily function as a spanking implement.
