Smiled as he went to the sleeping ferret, this time being more gentle to her than he was last night when he ripped the cloak out from under her. Smirked some at the image as it came back.
Walked softly into the wash room, started the shower, undressing as if he wasn't there. Not at all shy about being naked in front of others, even if I did have some feeling for them.

Once the shower was just right stepped into it and just stood there for a few moments, relishing in the feel of the water pouring down my back, washing away the nightmares and everything that could be bad. Giving me a fresh new day, a fresh new start.

"Man..you are jumpy today." I laughed to Skyler. "Alright...do you know where Jas is?"

Thalryn looked up from the sleeping ferret to find Athyna completely disrobed. He made no attempt to hide his actions as he looked her over. Elven maidens were breathtaking to behold, and elves in general weren’t shy about being naked.

Thalryn spoke as she entered the shower. “I’m going to see what the others have planned. I should be back presently.”

The gold elf strapped on his long swords and made for the door. He left the room and headed for the taproom.

Skyler

“I don’t know, just feel all energetic.” She paused for a moment, “I’m not sure but give me a second I’ll find him.” With that she bounded down the hall checking the different doors.

She didn’t catch it in time as Thalryn open his door and stepped out into the hallway to find her right underfoot. She cried out in surprise as Thalryn tripped over her.

Athyna ~

Smiled to myself, feeling his eyes upon me, pretending as if I didn't know he was looking. A bit arousing for a moment, then he spoke, only nodding back to him then watched as he left.

Took sometime in the shower for it just plain felt good. Slowly the water started to get cold indicating I was in there longer than needed. Stepping out, drying off soon after got dressed. Gathering my things, swords to my back aching for some action. Sometimes it was as if they themselves spoke to me.

Sat on the bed putting on my boots, once they were laced and had everything I needed. Or at least came with. Couldn't help to reach over and start petting the sleeping ferret, scratching lightly as she stretched out to my scratching her back.

Thalryn

The gold elf opened his door and started to step out when he caught a black blur out of the corner of his eye race under his feet. His foot started to descend as he took his first step into the hall, but he managed to twist and push off with his other foot. He somersaulted sideways and landed lightly on the floor of the hall, both hands on the hilts of his twin blades, facing away from the ferret.

He looked up to see Dominic standing down the hall and didn’t have to turn around to know he’d almost stepped on Skyler. Thalryn rose from the crouch he’d landed in, a slight smirk on his bronze face. He turned to face the offending ferret.

“You should watch yourself. Had it been anyone else, save for maybe Jas, you would have been squashed. I‘m used to having a ferret constantly underfoot.”

The elf smiled at the innocent looking ferret, then turned to Dominic, who was just catching up. “I have found an archer who is interested in joining our party. She is quite good, and she has a personal vendetta with our favorite necromancer.” The elf looked back at his door. “I would introduce you now, but you would most probably find the situation rather…uncomfortable.”

He smirked. Humans tended to embarrass easy around nudity. That was something he could never figure out.

The elf briefly noted that Dominic was missing his spectacles, but didn’t think enough of it to call it out.

“So, what time were you thinking of heading out?”

Elistraee

The ferret opened an eye and nuzzled into Athyna’s hand. That had been the most pleasant awakening she had received in quite some time. Elistraee rolled lazily onto her stomach.

Oh yes, she could get used to this. Good morning, M’lady. It is nice to see you again.

Skyler

“Thanks Thalryn, and sorry about that was just trying to find you and Jasleth and Kryss… a new person, that might be a big help.” She seemed to be talking in fast forward. She hesitated a second, as she realized that she had just sped right through that sentence. She talked like that sometimes when at the barn, when it seemed like she would have to be talking to two or three people at once while fussing with a horse that was being a pain.

She bounded down the hall and stopped at another door, then looked back to Dominic. “This is Jasleth and Kryss’s room.” She stood looking at the two men as they talked a moment.

Dominic

"An archer?" I asked. "Hopefully we aren't talking about a Soliel-like archer." I was very wary about letting anyone else join us, but I was going to do my best to hide it. "But I guess the more people we have, the better off we are."

"Well, seeing how I want to stray from...uncomfortable situations, I'm going to check up on Jasleth and Kryss." I said, moving a few doors down and knocking on the door.

"Hey guys...you up yet?"

Athyna ~

Smiled down to the ferret as she obviously was ejoying the attention.

"Aye, G'morning to you as well."

Continued to scratch her back loving how the silky fur felt within my fingers. Tempted to pick her up and just carry her in my arms just so I can play in her fur. But, unsure of how she would feel about being held by someone she really didn't know.

"I'm going to go get a few more things for the road. I shall return shortly."

Mostly wanted more wine, who knows how long it would be before I had a chance to buy more. Looked down at her once again, giving the ferret a final scratch before standing to leave.

Outside the door was Thalrynn and another ferret, looked back into the room to see Elistraee on the bed looking up. Didn't think much of for now after seeing it wasn't the same one.
Then there was another, male talking to Thalrynn while the ferret sniffed out the doors.

"Oh, I'm sorry, didn't mean to interrupt you. Just going down to get a few things."

Spoke softly as I closed the door to Thalrynn's room.

Kryss ~

Reluctantly Kyle and I finished up in the bath after more uncontrolable play. Dried eachother off, teasing here and there finally, not wanting to, we both got dressed just in time to hear Dominic's voice followed by a knock at the door.

"ummm well depends what you mean by *up*"

Giggled softly looking towards Kyles pants, seeing how excited he was. Luckily he hid well as I opened the door for the others, seeing the whole group outside our door, as if they were waiting for us only. Blushing slightly, till I saw the new elf.. Looking at her slightly confused as to where she came from.

"Dom, where's your glasses?"

Being the next thing I noticed, at first not seeing Skyler shortly felt her fur across my feet very excited for some reason, then ran back to Dom.

"Umm well I guess come in, no point in standing out there...."

Stepped to the side allowing them to come in, we were dressed and not much reason to not let them in as we finished getting ready.

Thalryn smiled warmly as the she-elf entered the hall. He motioned her over to the group as they all entered Kryss and Jasleth’s room.

“Well, since everyone’s together, I may as well make introductions. Everyone, this is Athyna, a…ah…drinking buddy and archer.”

He gestured to Dom. “This is Dominic, our resident oracle. Has a knack for getting us out of trouble before it happens.” He grinned a bit as he looked down to Skyler. “The little hyper active one is Skyler. I’m afraid the ferret form seems to be having some affect on her personality.” He joked, with a smirk.

Thalryn then turned to Kryss. “The elven maiden is known as Kryss. Her beauty is surpassed only by her prowess in spell dancing.” The gold elf grinned slightly as he gestured grandiosely to the monk. “This is Jasleth, the Prodigious Youth!” Thalryn smirked as he bowed graciously to the monk. The elf winked as he continued. “Now, I‘m not sure where that comes from, but I wouldn‘t want anyone else next to me in a fight.”

The gold elf turned back to the wood elven maiden. “Athyna would like to join up with our little band, but she owes me a duel first. We were far too drunk last night for fighting, yet not quite drunk enough to do it anyway.” He cocked his head to the side as he appraised her. “And do remind me to purchase a skin or two of that gypsy wine before we set out, hmmm?”

He turned back to the group. “I hate to invite someone into the group like this, especially with my being added not so long ago myself. I propose everyone test our prospective archer as they see fit. My part will be our little sparring match.” His eyes met Athyna’s, who seemed to enjoy the thought of being tested.

“Are we all agreed?”

"My glasses? I guess...I guess I don't need them anymore." I shrugged. "I'm seeing fine."

I turned at the introduction of the archer. Athyna, huh....

"Very well...a test." I said. I walked up. I guess I'll go first." I walked up to her and grabbed her hands. "As an oracle, I have an innate ability to sense the truth." I closed my eyes. An image of a tear-shaped crystal appeared in my mind. "Remember, be truthful. First, what is your name?"

"Athyna." She answered. I could see the mental crystal go blue. Truth.

"Second, are you a wood elf?"

"Yes." Blue again.

"Okay. Finally, What is your main motivation for coming with us?"

Athyna ~

So far things were working out, had expected this test thing more than prepared for it. Her real reasons would remain unseen for now.

"Athyna"

Spoke calmly

"Yes" To his second question, now for his third, answered without hesitation, though the crystal would show him it was an iffy answer, for it was partly true.

"I heard that you ran into an old.. aquantance of mine... I wish to be there for his death.. perferably be the one to actually send him to his grave."

Smiled sweetly and so very innocent, for the one I truly wanted was that Dark Elf. For now, would tell enough truth to get me past this oracle... For I also did want to see Avrice to his grave as well... Reasons for both are different from what I told Thalrynn, unfortunatly I think Thalrynn is going to hender my feelings. Last night with him was the most wonderful thing I have had in so long. Still couldn't let myself get close, that look he gives me though, just know its going to break me.

"Does this pass your little test Oracle? I have nothing to hide.."

Brought a smile to Thalrynn,

"Of course we will get more Gypsy wine, I don't leave with out it."
"And most certainly we will duel."

Glint ran through my eyes, I love being tested in every way possible, seemed to make stronger as I found loops through some, such as this first one the Oracle put forth. Truth tests took sometime to master, mostly if you believe in what you say to be true and be totally calm about without hesitation... Truth be told to the asker..

When she stated her last answer, I kept my eyes closed for a few moments longer. The I opened me eyes again. I gave her a long look before speaking. "That's good enough for me." I said aloud and turned around.

Hey, Boss. Slip said in my mind. What was up with that?

I don't know, Slip. I responded. I don't know.

He wanted to answer Kryss's question about his appearance, but before he could get his mind away from the horrible teasing they were doing to one another in the bath, the others had arrived.

He was unusually quiet as Thalryn made the introductions, though his mouth quirked into a smile when the spellsword used his sobriquet. The woman was a fighter, no doubt about it. Every movement practically screamed it...she was lovely, though he thought she was certainly no Kryss. Maybe he could see about that orgy idea after all...

"All right, Athyna." Kyle stepped away from where he had been leaning against the wall. "I can understand the idea of an ordeal well enough...and I approve." "To be honest, I'd like to go up against you myself, but since Thalryn has already called that test, I will test your wits." He could see a curious look from Dominic, and likely from the ferret that was Skyler. They probably didn't expect something like this from Jasleth.

He held up three fingers. "Three riddles, to go with Dominic's three questions." "I'll give you as much time as you need to think of the answers, but we're leaving in a few hours so I suppose there is a time limit after all." "I'll give them to you all at once, though i'll be glad to repeat them for you."

Now...what to use? There were so many...well, best start off with something relatively easy. A classic. "First riddle." He took a breath, if he was going to do this, he would do it with style, now how did those verses go again?

"What creature is it, that at dawn walks on four legs,
walks on two legs when the sun is highest,
and walks on three legs at twilight?"

That shouldn't be too tough. If she knew Greek mythology at all, she should get that one no problem. Best make the next one a little tougher..and a little more poetic, if not in high style. "Next riddle."

Each King there had servants ten,
Though none of them were also men.
The lowest servant sometimes might,
Defeat the King in a fair fight.
A weapon stout, a priceless jewel,
The beat of Life, a farmer's tool."

He smiled, idle wondering if any of his companions would get them either. "Last riddle." A nice, high style riddle this time. Though a classic in a sense also.

"This thing, all things devours;
Birds, beasts, trees and flowers.
It bites iron, gnaws steel,
Grinds the hardest stones to meal.
Slays kings, ruins towns,
And beats the highest mountains down."
"What is it?"

Kyle leaned back, a faint smile on his lips. "If you need them repeated, ask." "Take your time to answer."

The elf raised an eyebrow at Jasleth’s uncommon use of the mind. Maybe they made monks do something other than break things all day.

Still, this test was unusually tough. Even with all his studies of elven lore, he could only come up with the answer for one of the riddles.

Of course the gold elf was always more skilled with the blade than with the spell, so that wasn’t too unusual.

Just smiled back just as calmly as I did for Dominic. The gleam of the tests sparkled in my eyes.

"I would just rather fight you both. Two against one is always a nice warm up. But very well."

Took some thought, the first one was way to easy, pretended to think about it for a few moments before I answered.

*What creature is it, that at dawn walks on four legs,
walks on two legs when the sun is highest,
and walks on three legs at twilight?*

"Oh come now, every one know that is mankind.
They crawl in the dawns of life
Walk upright during the midday sun
And in the twilight years use a walking stick as a third leg."


Now for his second Question, this one took more thought for it could have been a few answers, yet only one kept coming to thoughts.

"Will admitt this one is a bit iffy, but I would have to say Chess..
The two who were entertained, who clowned are the players. The servants ten are the pawns. Still unsure about the weapon stout, but I'm guessing it is the bishop. And the priceless jewel is the queen."

Smiled brightly now, two down and one to go. This last one was an easy one as well.

"My first thought to this would be humans for they destroy everything they see. But I would be mistaken of the answer.
"The answer to this one is time. For time will eventually devour the life of which it also created."

Had a sly grin on my lips, proud of the answers I provided. Considering I wasn't into riddles this made me proud. Looked around the group to see their responses. Waiting for the next the test. More so couldn't wait to get out there with Thalrynn, perhaps the monk in due time.

"Does this please you m'lord?"

Everything about me was calm and smooth, so far, nothing seemed to phase me. So far...

Kyle inclined his head to the elven archer. "It does indeed please me." A smirk played at the corners of his mouth. "Your answers for the first and third riddles are correct, though missed the second." "Your reasoning for your answer is sound though, you just missed a few points." "The correct answer is a deck of cards." The twelve Royals are the King, Queen, and Jack of each suit, the two clowns are the Jokers, the servants who are not men are the number cards." "The weapon stout is the suit of Clubs, The priceless jewel is Diamonds, the beat of Life is Hearts, and the farmer's tool is the Spades."

He extended a hand to grip her forearm, the archer doing the same. It was the greeting of one adventurer to another, a sign of respect. "I approve of your joining us, and will gladly spar you if you wish it." "I have a tenddancy for seriously frustrating archers though, just fair warning."

He held her arm for longer than necessary, his emerald eyes hardening as he looked into hers. "I will also warn you that I respect your ability, but I do not trust you yet." "I am sorry if this insults you, but until I have reason to do otherwise, I will be watching you." "I hope that it will be unnecessary, but I will risk no harm to my friends."

Kyle then stepped back, setting a fist to an open palm and bowing. He backed up as he straightened, coming to stand next to Kryss. "Who shall test Athyna next?"

Athyna ~

"Hmm a deck of cards, I can see that. I am glad the other answers were approving."

He gave his little warning, fire burned in both our eyes as we locked stares. Only nodded in agreement,

"The same, for we do not know eachother, therefore trust is at stake regardless."

Noticed how the dark elf was looking at me, her stare was hard and cold. As if she knew me as well as I knew her. Though how could that be I wondered? Also wondered what kind of test she would have for. Or for that matter, what kind of test would the vampire have? None of this really bothered me, what did was the way Kryss stared me down.

"I would love to go a few rounds with you sometime. For now, my first rounds are promised to Thalrynn."

Turned and smiled at Thal, stepping back to stand next him, waiting for the next one.

Wasn't sure what to make of Athyna, she felt familiar somehow but couldn't place it. Just something about her I didn't like, the test I would have for her would be far more challenging than what these guys have put her through. Assuming a chance like will happen. If not to me, then it would be someone else, still my test when it happens.

"My test will be of trust, though, I can no put it in action. You will know when the time comes and depending on the situation at hand, your decision will be the test I wish to provide."

Stare never left her, didn't want to wait to put my test in action, but there was no way of doing so now. It had to be a last minute ordeal, if one of us is in some kind of harm, she is able to help. Athyna's action as to whether the person dies or lives is the test. Though I will not allow anyone to die, that's just the test I have in store for her.

"In time you'll meet with the test."

Took hold of Kyles hand as he stepped beside me, just having him near took some of the coldness away from my stare.

Skyler

She sat as still as she could and listened to the riddles, she was fairly impressed with the archer. She would be a good addition, she knew they were going to need help in the coming days. Things seemed to be getting worse.

"Athyna, I welcome you to the party. I have no test for you. I think the others handled that. I think once I take my true form your reaction and following actions shall be test enough." She had tried to send her thoughts to both Athyna and Dominic, she had a link with him so figured it might be easy enough to get him to hear her as she spoke with Athyna.

She scurried over to Dominic, and sat up on her hind legs, tugging at his pant leg. "Are we ready to go? I need to get some bloodwyne for the trip. Please get some for me with the money from my pack." She spoke fairly quickly, it was starting to bother her that it seemed she was taking on some of the ferret attributes, she wondered how things would be when darkness came and she turned back to her vampiric form.

Thalryn observed Skyler’s actions and presumed that she offered no test. He thought it strange the way the usually mild mannered Vampire was acting, even in ferret form. Maybe she was releasing her hold on her self and letting the animalistic nature show through. That was all he could come up with.

The gold elf turned now to the wood elf, the gleam of battle with a worthy opponent in his emerald eyes. “I believe it is time for the last test. We will commence once outside the town. I would prefer not to stir the populace, and it is likely to be quite the show.” He grinned fiercely as he spoke.

Thalryn turned back to everyone. “Let us make haste. The sooner we are out on the road the better.”

Smiles britely at Thalrynn's words, taking his hand lightly motioning towards the door.

"First Gypsy wine.. then we'll just meet everyone outside the city while we *play*... Cept for the wine I'm all set."

Suddenly having as much energy as the little vampire ferret, aching for the duel. I knew he had a few things to grab first, but that would give me time to buy more wine.

"Meet you downstairs then?"

Kyle nodded. "No time like the present, let's go." The party made its' way downstairs, Dominic, Thalryn, and Athyna lingering behind to deluge the barkeep with their requests for spirits. Kyle gave Kryss's hand a squeeze, his eyes flickering out of the door. At her slight nod of agreement, the two lovers went out into the bright light of the afternoon.

They walked for a time before coming to rest near the small roadside shrine to the God of Travel. Kyle took a moment to toss a few gold in the collection box. Superstitious maybe...but it couldn't hurt. "What so you think of Athyna, Kryss?" "There was something odd in your body language when you looked at her." "Do you know her?"

Thalryn & Elistraee

The gold elf left for his room quickly, leaving Athyna behind to order the wine. He walked into his room chanting a Telekinesis cantrip. He pointed to the pack and it lifted off the floor and floated to his back, followed by his cloak and then the lightly sleeping Elistraee.

WHAT in the NINE HELLS!!! The startled ferret offered as she opened her eyes, curious why the warmness from the blanket had suddenly disappeared. She looked up in time to land on the gold elf’s shoulder.

Dammit Thal! Why can’t you just wake me normally? She berated as she found a comfortable spot on his shoulder.

Why, that wouldn’t be any fun, Straee He replied innocently in thought speech.

Ugh. You are insufferable, elf.

Yeah, but you like it.

The black ferret crawled under his cloak and into his pack. You know what Thal, I’m going back to sleep. Do NOT wake me again.

Yes Ma’am He replied with a smirk on his face as he set out for the tap room.

"As much as I'd like to see this encounter, Thalryn, I think I should help Skyler get her wine. I don't think the bartender would like a ferret buying a drink." I said. I picked Skyler up and put her on my shoulder. Together, we walked down the hallway to the tavern.

That elf is very good at lying. I thought to myself. That was definitly something different. Blue for truth, Red for lie. But I've never encountered violet before...
