When RP takes control IC thread

At first Athyna only laughed at the site of four kobolds, then her eye grew wide and with sheer excitment as she seen the other appear. This only got her upset that they put Thalryn in a net, the other she could careless about. None the less, if she was to save Thalryn, might as well save the other.

Athyna was judging the net, to get a rough idea of what it was made of, it was spider silk alright. But not just any spider, the silk was from the ice caves, one of the most strongest silk out there. Thalrynn, Jas and the four kobolds were tangled in the web/net.
Took out her bow slowly, enough to not startle the wall of pups in front of them. Her eyes were fixed on the hands that held and dragged the net. Whispering words that were barely understood, drawing back the string slowly and with extreme ease, she releases. Black arrow shoots straight for one of the hands, just barely scratching the hand as the arrown pierces through the net. Within moments, the net begins to rott away from around the hands that held it, and soon around the ones inside.

Though she didn't stop there, shooting at the ones around and that were holding the net, knocking them out one by one.

Kryss wouldn't have enough time, nor power to control this crowd. She may have been able to mez a handful, but that would just be waste of time and energy. Instead, she aimed at the cats, not the riders. Useing one hand at a time, like she was punching the air, each hand that pushed forward was followed by a ball of flame. Sending as many as she could on fire.

Thalryn

Thalryn’s blade caught the throat of one of the kobolds just as Dominic and Elistraees’ voices sounded, simultaneously crying out a warning. The gold elf looked up just in time to see the net come crashing down on top of him. As quickly as the net had fallen, it had taken his legs out from under him, and he, Jasleth, and the four kobolds lay tangled in a heap of bodies inside the unusually strong net. He thrashed out with his glowing blades, but the net held firm against the razor sharp swords.

Thal, teleport out! Elistraee cried in his mind.

He struggled to keep his swords away from himself as the three living kobolds thrashed inside the net. “Jas! If you grab ahold of me I can teleport out to Straee!” he yelled as a kobold pushed up against his blades, squealing in protest as it unwittingly sliced itself from neck to navel. Warm blood spilled over the gold elf as he concentrated on locating Jasleth amid the red blood and flailing limbs. Whatever was holding the net began to drag them away from the fight, and Thalryn winced as he slid over a rock.

Not without Jas! He replied to his familiar.

He heard a high pitched yelp of protest and the net stopped moving. He noticed the momentary slack in the net and thrust out with his blades again and the net severed, spilling him and the dying kobold onto the ground at the feet of another kobold, whose blade began its decent for the gold elf’s chest. He kicked up and threw up his blades to block the falling sword, but he met with very little resistance. He glanced from the sword to the face of the offending monster, and grinned slightly at the arrow that protruded from the beast’s forehead. He leaned back and curled up, then thrust out his legs, sending himself into the air and allowing his legs to get under him. He glanced over his shoulder to see Jasleth send a Kobold soaring through the air with a flying side kick.

“I’d like this situation a lot better if we weren’t cut off from the others!” Thalryn yelled as he parried a pike thrust from one of the multitude of kobolds. He knocked the weapon left, then thrust out with his other blade and pierced the monster in the chest as an arrow exploded into its skull. He shot Athyna a look over the mass of kobolds that conveyed his disdain at her persistence in shooting enemies he could handle. He knocked the sword of another kobold wide, then twirled his other blade high and slashed down into the monster’s back.

“Time to die!” He announced as he slashed a neat X across the stomach of another of the monsters.

Dominic

I dodged a sword swipe and parried another. I was not made for combat, so I was glad I was at least fast enough to dodge the attacks. I parried another attack and ran one kobold through.

I turned and saw the other lizard run away. "Huh. He must be scared of me."

NOT QUITE! Slip shouted. I swung around and met a giant cat paw. A stumbled back and fell to the ground. The cat-riding kobold cackled and cracked the reins on the beats. It raised it's front paws and prepared to crush me. I rolled to one side and avoided the claws. I swung my sword around and cut the cat's paw off. It screeched and toppled over. Onto me.

I coughed as the heavy animal landed on me. I held my sword out, so it impaled and killed the beast. The kobold fell off his perch and landed on the ground next to me, out cold. I struggled to get the creature off of me, but it wouldn't budge.

Skyler

She had managed to take out three or so kobolds. The ones on the large cats seemed to be avoiding her, or maybe they were trying to get their mounts to come at her and the cats themselves were avoiding her.

She turned just in time to see Dominic knocked down by one of the cats. She turned to only have her way blocked by two more of the beasts that had finally found the courage to face her, or finally got tired of their riders beating them into action.

She hissed, baring her fangs and raising her swords, she lunged for one of the beasts. She was nearing it when the second knocked her back out of the way, causing her to drop one of the swords. She grabbed at the beast's riding gear trying to pull herself to her feet, slashing at it's rider with the other sword.

The kobold rider screamed as she slashed at him with the katana blade. The wound was deep but not enough to incapacitate him. He brought the big cat around on her and it slashed at her with a huge paw, causing her to leap back to avoid a terrible wound. The cat's claws, tore through her shirt and managed to draw blood across their path.

Skyler, fought all the harder with the smeel of fresh blood in the air, even though it was her own blood she was smelling, it didn't matter as the scent pushed her on into the thicker battle as she tried to make her way to Dominic, for being trapped he was in danger.

She turned in time to face another of the cats as the rider pushed it forward and it leapt on her, knocking her backwards to the ground, with another weapon lost. As she hit the ground she caught her opportunity and grabbed the big cat by the sides of it's head, she was losing strength fast and knew how to get it back and since the was a better option than kobold blood, she took it.

The cat howled as Skyler latched onto it's throat. As she drank from it she felt her strength returning. It's rider leapt from the cat's back as Skyler twisted under it and pushed the dieing beast aside. She managed to keep it's rider away from her and move closer to Dominic. With her blades gone she was unable to stay on the offensive, she could only hope to defend and free Dominic from under the dead cat pinning him down.

Dominic

With Skyler's help, I managed to pull myself out from under the fallen beast. I stood up and pulled the sword from the cat's side.

"Thanks." I said to her quickly and went back to attacking the kobolds. It didn't even seem like we were making a dent in the kobold army yet. I cut another one across the neck and pressed my back against Skyler's.

"Just stay back to back." I said. "Maybe we can take control of one of the cats."

Skyler

"That would be good.. but I need to get my swords back.. all I have now are daggers and they are not much against these things." She could see her swords, the closest being about 10 feet away.

"If we move slowly and together we can get to them fairly easy." She slashed at one of the kobolds as it came within reach of her dagger. It squealed as the smaller blade cut into it's hide and as it turned to face Skyler, she stabbed with the second dagger driving it deep in the kobold's chest. It gurgled blood from it's mouth as it collapsed and slid from the blade.

Dominic

We moved closely toward Skyler's swords, slashing maniacally at the lizard men. We eventually got to her weapons and I let her retrieve them.

I turned around and saw another cat rider. I grabbed into my pack and drew a throwing dagger in my fingertips. With a quick motion, I tossed it up and got the kobold between the eyes.

The cat went into a rage, but I was ready. I held my hands out and a soft purple glow radiated from my palms. The cat began to slow down and get lethargic. My empathy skill was finally coming into good use. I continued to hold my palm out, then climbed up it's back and took the seat the kobold used to have.

"Skyler!" I called to her. "I got us a ride!"

Kyle

His blood sang as it surged through his veins, and he exulted in the thrill of battle. He laughed at Thalryn's words, "Really, Thalryn!" "Tell me there isn't part of you that prefers it this way...and I will call you a liar." A lightning fast backfist crushed a kobold skull under his knuckles, the agile monk then darting forward to shoulder check one of the massive cats, sending it slamming into a boulder. The thing barely had time to yowl before he steped in with a vicious smile on his face, delivering a powerful sidekick that broke and splintered the great beast's ribs, shards peircing lungs and heart. A. open palm strike broke the neck of its rider before Kyle turned toward the spellsword again.

"The harder the fight, the better!" Kyle leaped from his place, landing solidly in front of the next group of kobold cavalry that was preparing to rusht he rest of the party. "You live for the peace you only truly find in the heat of combat!' One of the great cats gathered itself and sprang, claws splayed. Kyle ducked under the tawny bulk of the cat, grabbing hold of it at the joint of the forward shoulder and a hind leg. He pivoted, swinging the huge feline in a circle before letting it go to smash into one of its fellows. "I can see it on your face, in your every move."

Another cat charged him, saber-toothed mouth agape. Kyle waited until the last moment, then struck out with both hands, one coming up and one down. The jaws of the unfortunate creature broke with a sickening snap, forming a parallel line as Kyle then grasped then and twisted, snapping the neck cleanly. "...And I seem to be the same."

He'd only been in control once before, in the fight with Avrice. Now...it felt so different. There was no fear, only a need to protect his friends, a fierce joy, rage, power, and freedom. He laughed, a ferocious and bloody laugh, before he jumped into another flying kick to meet the next group.

Thalryn

Legend had it that kobolds sprang from the blood of dragons. As the gold elf slashed his way through the cavalry‘s rear guard, he sprang from the blood of kobolds. With emerald eyes blazing in the moonlight, the bladesinger danced around the line of the reptilian swordsman. Wherever he trod, a kobold soon found a blade buried in his chest.

He listened to Jasleth, letting the monk’s words drive him ever farther into battle frenzy. To a barbarian, frenzy was the state in which they attained supernatural strength and lost the ability to be limited by pain, at the cost of their sensibilities. An elf in frenzy was the epitome of the swordsman, moving at speeds untraceable to the eye, executing his enemies in seconds with his superior agility. There was a special kind of magic in the frenzy, one that couldn’t be conjured or evoked by the High Magister himself, but that seemed to carry all elves past their limitations when it was needed.

Thalryn whooped as the last two kobolds of the rear guard charged him from each side. He leapt forward, parrying each of their blades simultaneously and independently. He knocked the blades down and pushed out, using his speed to send the two sprawling. He cackled, overcome with bloodlust as he flipped into the air, reversed his grip on his blades and landed lightly just between the two, plunging his swords into their respective chests as he touched down.

He rose from a crouch, a grin on his face as he surveyed the decimated rear guard. Time to help with the cavalry.

He took two steps toward the cat riders when his heightened instincts made his stomach drop. Without thinking he dropped to the ground in a spin, turning his blades upward as a cat pounced overhead. He slid his swords down the length of the beast’s hide as it flew by, showering himself in warm blood. The cat landed lightly with a growl and stood, its kobold rider barking obscenities at the elf whose twin long swords had cut a swath of death through the back line. His mind reached out to his axe as the kobold whipped the reigns on the giant feline, trying to whip the beast into a charge. The gold elf hurled Seldarine at the unsuspecting kobold, the softly glowing blue blade spun end over end before catching deep in the monster’s skull. As quickly as Seldarine had left his hand, it was replaced by Firefly, his throwing axe. Thalryn leapt again as the cat, now riderless, closed the distance. In midair over the beast he came out of the flip and chucked the blade downward. The axe connected with a resounding thwack as it cleaved through the cat’s skull.

The gold elf panted hard, exhausted from the amount of energy he’d lost to the frenzy. He shrugged off the fatigue and strode back into battle, Seldarine in hand once again.

Kryss was losing energy as flame after flame was thrown onto the cats sending them off screaming. The more we killed, the more they came so it seemed.

"This isn't working....."

Stopping the flame punches, she began her stamina/strength spell. For some reason she didn't need to dance as much as she used, though she didn't think about this she just started casting the spell. Focusing on Jas and Thalryn the most, still it reached the other as well.

Athyna, was slicing, rolling, dodging. Everything possible, shooting through two creatures with one arrow. The ones that came close, she would quickly switch to sword as if it was an arrow off a quiver. Then after killing the one within striking distant, she returned to her bow. Flaming arrows, poison, everything she could come up with, she casted into arrows.

Everyone was so busy, that it didn't seem like there was a dent in the mobs, but she saw it. Athyna was also pretty much protecting Kryss. Unwillingly, but she didn't want her death like this. As the dancer did her spell, Athyna was killing around her. She was relishing in the fight, feeding off the screeching of the creatures running away in pain. Her eyes were lit with pleasure.

Kyle

His leap took him over a cat rider, Kyle kicking out as he soared over head and curshing the skull on the kobold even as it stabbed at him. He landed in a crouch, feeling the ruch of air as the great cat turned and lunged at his unprotected back. He rolled forward, one hand reaching up and wrapping around the startled cat's neck as it brushed past, jaws closing where his head had been a moment ago. He pushed off the ground with his feet, flipping both himself and the huge sabertooth so that he came down on top of the yowling beast. Twin strikes to the throat changed the yowl to a strangled gurgle as the thing vainly tried to breathe.

Kyle glanced up to see a cat preparing to leap upon Athyna from a higher ledge. The elven archer didn't seem to notice it...so intent was she on checking the flood of kobolds that menaced her and Kryss. Kyle took a moment to gather his ki, pulling his fist back. "Haaaahh..."

The kobold spurred its mount on and the massive beast pounced. Athyna, perhaps noting the shadow that fell over her, looked up...the world seemed to slow down as she tried to swing her bow round to bear. Then normal speed returned as an unseen force blasted the cat away like a leaf in a gale, the thing slamming hard into a rock face, leaving a bloody trail as it slid down. The archer's eyes flicked to Kyle, who gave her a nod as he finished the follow-through of his Wave Fist.

Then he felt a new rush of strength and vigor, he raised a hand to salute the two women, "Thanks for the spell, Kryss...I feel unstoppable now." "Nice shooting Athyna, keep it up!."

He felt the disturbance that meant he was being rushed from behind. He leaped up and back, flipping over the heads of the group of kobolds that had come upon him. He kicked off as his feet hit the ground, lashing out with a hard kick that send one little monster screaming over the mountain side. An incoming spear was deflected by the bracer on his right arm, the moonlight glinting off the "Justice" rune engravved there. He wrapped his hand around the spear, yanking it past him and lifting the struggling kobold to him. Just before it would have hit him, he smashed his left knee into its chest, a spurt of blood coming from the thing's mouth as it's organs jellied. As the corpse dropped, his right hand lashed out, grabbing a kobold by it's snout. As easily as one might lift a bag of flour, he raised the frantically swinging humanoid up off the ground as high as his arm would reach, pausing a moment before slamming his captive down, dashing its brains out on a pointed stone.

The sheer brutality of the attack gave the other kobolds pause, giving Kyle a moment to survey the battlefield. There were just too many...eventually they'd be overrun. They needed to thin the kobolds ranks immediately, not one of two at a time. He jumped back again, tumbling through the air to come down atop a spire of basalt. He took a breath, holding his left hand in front of him, index and middle finger pointing skyward as he gathered his power, readying himself for his most draining physical attack. In his mind's eye, time froze and he sw the position of every one of the enemies. He released the flow of energy as he leaped clear of the rock, flying far further than his jump should have carried him. He landed with both feet slamming into the chest of one of the kobolds menacing Dominic and Skyler, vaulting to another in a split second, never touching the ground. "Torrent of Fury!" In a blur of motion, he ricocheted across the body strewn landscape, striking enemy after enemy, using the force of his blows to propel him into another foe. Almost faster than the eye could see, fists and feet delivered bone crushing blows to one monster after another.

Finally he touched down, his breathing a bit labored, though Kyrss's spell had allowed him to sustain the attack for much longer than he could normally. Around the battleground, 18 of their foes crumpled to the ground...5 got back up, though they moved with shattered limbs and jerky movements. Kyle smiled as he attempted to regain his wind...that should even it up a bit.

Thalryn

Emerald eyes gleamed brighter as Kryss poured forth her spell energy. He noticed that his blades seemed a little lighter and his feet moved a little faster. He parried a short sword thrust with one sword, then stabbed the offending kobold through the chest.

Out of the corner of his eye he saw Jasleth launch his attack, and grinned heartily at the number of screams that followed. The gold elf quickly surveyed the scene in the pause it took for the kobolds to absorb the monk’s ferocity. The grin that had been on the elf’s face fled, leaving a somber look of grim recognition. He realized, much as Jasleth had just seconds before, that they need to drop the kobolds faster, or they would be overrun.

The problem was the time it would take for the elf to launch an attack of that magnitude. He had the techniques to do it, but he had to get out of the heat of battle. Thalryn went on the defensive, backing against the wall of the mountain as he fended off four kobolds at a time, one sword dancing simultaneously and independently of the other as each sword worked a pair of the monsters. They leapt in simultaneously, swinging high and low with their swords at the dual sword wielding elf. The elf snapped a sword across high as his other swung low, knocking the kobold’s attack back. All four of the monsters stepped back in a line, preparing to charge in again on the elf, but never got the chance as an arrow exploded down the line, impaling all four kobold skulls in one shot before glancing off the stone of the mountain.

Thalryn looked to Athyna again, a smile of appreciation on his lips and a quick nod of respect as he chanted a few words and faded from view. Now invisible, the elf flanked the monk, whose previous devastating attack had drained him considerably. The kobolds sensed his weaker state and charged him hard. Still, Jasleth was putting up a hell of a fight, dropping at least one of every three that charged him.

The gold elf closed his eyes, reaching out with his elven spirit to the common inherent magic that ran through Kryss and Athyna. In his mind’s eye, he saw his vibrant green energy connect with Kryss’s deep blue and Athyna’s silver. The two females briefly felt his mind touch theirs and the three were then connected as the gold elf acted as focus.

Elven circle magic drew upon the energy of the People, uniting their common spirit and forging it into immense spell power. Thalryn began to glow with silver and blue light as he emerged from invisibility. He danced, blades swirling around his head and body as the light rushed into his blades. A brilliant white light flashed and Thalryn was surrounded by six exact copies of himself, dancing and twirling twin blades just as he was.

He stopped his dance, spell finally complete, and strode in to battle again. He became a wall of blades, seven gold elves with swords flashing in the moonlight. He cut down kobold after kobold, watching as his replicas engaged the mass of kobolds that turned to face the new threat. He leapt, landing in the middle of the tide of monsters with fourteen blades swirling about, cutting a swath of gore through the ranks of the monsters. He felt a sharp pain in his side as one of his images faded out, but another of his replicas stepped in and cut the monster from neck to navel and kicked it back into the horde. He and the replicas cut down several more of the yipping kobolds before he felt another sharp pain, this time in his back and another of the images faded.

Thalryn glanced back at the wake he and his images had created, knowing that the duration of the spell was almost over. The five remaining gold elves dove headlong for Jasleth, who was fighting just ten feet away. Ten blades flashed up, cutting down the kobolds in the way as the elf and his replicas rolled to their feet.

Thalryn turned his back to Jasleth just as another blinding flash of white light signaled the end of the spell and removed the elven reinforcements, but the damage had been done. Between him and Jasleth, the pair had halved the number of kobolds. The gold elf exchanged glances with the monk over his shoulder as he fought off the fatigue. Sweat poured from Thalryn’s brow, and he was greatly drained from such a high level casting, but the few tiger riders left were beginning to question their chances with the fall of the majority of the ground forces.

Dominic

I jerked on the reins, causing the cat to swipe around at the opposing Cat-riders. Skyler sat behind me, using my sword and hers to cut a swathe at the ground troops around us. We had quickly turned the tide of war.

I reached over and helped Jasleth on to the cat with us while he got his wind back. "Hey Jas. Thank you for riding the Dominic express. Next stop: more carnage."

I moved my cat over to Kryss and Athena. "Hello ladies!" I shouted. "You girls need a lift? I got the best ride around!"

Kyle

The ride onthe great cat helped to give Kyle time to gather his breath. It was amazing how easily the thing carried all of them..even more so when he pulled Kryss into his lap and Athyna lightly leaped up behind him.

The kobolds were shrieking in their mad language, the little creatures panicked by the sudden decimation of thier ranks. The were vicous and aggressive, but not terribly brave. The few mountain dwellers that survived were already attempting a frenzied and choatic retreat. Many kobolds ended up acciently pushed over the side by their frantic brethern, a few only saved by the agility and wisdom of thier feline mounts.

THe burdened cat leaped from rock to rock to finally thud down next to the weary gold elf. Kyle slid from it's back, still holding Kryss in his arms. He let out a loud whoop as the retreat continued, twirling Kryss around in a circle before kissing her soundly. "You were magnificent, love," he whispered. "I saw you from the heights...and you were so powerful, so deadly..and incredibly sexy."

"Excellent!" He raised his voice as Athyna hopped down next to Thalryn. "A lovely little fight." He held the slender dancer close, turning a beaming face on his other companions. "Well down, guys." "Well done, indeed."

Thalryn

The gold elf panted hard, trying not to stumble as he walked toward the cat and his friends. They had routed the kobolds, but the fight had taken a definite toll on him. He was bleeding from various wounds he hadn’t even felt in battle frenzy, and the crescent moon scar on his palm burned, which he thought was a bit strange. He blinked as Elistraee appeared on his shoulder. He grinned slightly at the ferret. “Fight’s over…Now you decide…to show up.”

Thalryn shook his head, trying to clear the fog in front of his mind. He felt like he was drunk. Absently, he rubbed his scar, trying to sooth the burning. He turned his smile up to Athyna as the feline mount strode up to him and she dismounted just after Jas and Kryss. “I…shouldn’t have cast…a spell that powerful…” Thalryn spoke softly as he wiped the sweat from his brow. “Too damn…draining.”

He looked up to Jasleth and met the human’s smile with a grin of his own. “It was….one hell of a fight…though.”

Dominic

I looked down at the Elf and laughed. "Yeah...it was quite a fight." I patted the cat's neck and it sat down obidiently. I smiled and turned to Skyler.

"That was crazy. I've never experienced anything like that battle. There were more kobolds there than anything I ever..." I saw her shirt was riped and stained with blood. "Skyler? Are you okay?" I asked pointing to her torso.

Athyna watched Thalrynn with amazment, almost missing a kill that would have attacked Kryss. She was also shocked that Kyle had killed that one cat from earlier, never really had anyone watch over her like that, let alone kill something that would have, could have easily killed her.

Once the fights were over, Athyna noticed Kryss slowing down, though she didn't open her eyes just yet. Hesitated a moment before reaching a hand out to wake her from the trance, Kryss was shocked for a moment then realized that it was over with. They both smiled brightly at Dominic as his ride, they both got on.
Kryss held onto Kyle, hugging him tightly like she almost lost him.

Once they were down with Thalrynn, Athyna wanted to hug him dearly till she saw the wounds, she was concerned and it showed within her returned smile to him. Standing next to his side to help him if he needed it.

"Aye it was a wonderful fight......... Now for something with a challenge, these things were just a warm up."

Athyna said teasingly, she too was worn out just wasn't as bad. Being used to contiuous fighting she learned how to control how much energy she put into the fights.

"And.. by the way.. Thank you for killing that cat earlier Kyle."

Faltered the words a little, wasn't used to such kindness even in battle. Specially in battle. Cleaned off her blades with fur of a kobolt corpse and sheathed them on her back again.

Kryss was just happy to be in Kyles arms again, blushed at his comment, though with her dark skin it wasn't to noticable. She did feel Thalrynns' energy run into her earlier, slightly wondered what he did, yet didn't question it.

"Thalrynn, you going to be ok? Those wounds look pretty bad."

She knew he had a ring, but he seemed to have this look as if something wasn't right and if Kryss can heal it, or at least bring comfort, she would.

Skyler

She looked to where Dominic was pointing, and the blood there, She reached for the torn material of her shirt to check the wounds. She was relieved to find only deep scratches, in fact the bleeding had pretty much stopped.

She looked back up to Dominic after checking the wounds. “I should be fine, a little bandaging and it’ll be fine, they’re just scratches, nothing to waste spells on.” She looked to the others seeing that the kobolds, the ones still able to at least, were on the retreat.

Kyle

The rush of the battle was fading. He looked over the bloody and body ridden landscape. The coppery scent of blood was thick in the air, and the stone slope was stained a dark maroon. "You're welcome, Athyna, but it's part of what we do for each other." "you're one of us now, if I couldn't have killed it, I'd have taken the blow FOR you." He grinned at her, "The Prodigious Youth is pretty tough, you know."

Kyle made a disgruntled rumble. "If anyone needs healing, speak up." "We need to leave here soon...scavengers and far stronger monsters will be brought here by this." He looked at Thalryn, then to Skyler and Dom, finally to Kryss. "I think I could be fine in another fight, even right now, but it looks like most of us need a breather."

He looked up the slope. "If Dominic can keep control of this cat, the ascent won't be as hard or as long as I thought." "We can make it to the cave in just an hour or two...and rest before going inside." The thought of the cave brought that uneasy feeling back. The last time it had been just a game...now, would he be able to pass the test?

Thalryn

Thalryn blinked as strands of golden hair whipped around his face in the cool mountain wind. Emerald eyes stared off into space as Jasleth asked if anyone needed healing. He caught the words slowly, only really hearing them and understanding seconds after the words were spoken.

Weary eyes met the monk‘s iron gaze. “Ahh…you wouldn’t mind doing that…ah…chakra ability of yours?” He put a hand on Athyna’s shoulder to balance himself, feeling the subtle connection with the silver energy he’d unleashed in the spell. The gold elf winced as he felt the stab wound he’d taken in the back from the spell close up. “I shouldn’t have attempted a spell of that magnitude.” He peered down to the burn scar on his palm. “I’m not used to being without my amulet.”

Thalryn then clasped his hands together and bowed to Kryss and Athyna in the traditional elven sign of respect and thanks. “Thank you for allowing me the use of your essence. I could not have cast such a spell without the help of the two of you.”

Dominic

I placed my hand on the cat's head, mentally connecting with it. Once I had created a link, I contacted Slip.

It's all yours.

Why, thank you. Slip muttered and, using my mind as a link, spoke to the cat. After a few moments, Slip said we were good and left the beast's mind. I dropped the link.

"There. The cat should be docile enough for us to control for a while, anyway." I pulled some food from my backpack and placed it in front of the cat.

Skyler

She watched as everyone gathered themselves after the fight, she kind of felt like Jasleth and had energy to spare right now. She had to agree that having the cat would make the climb easier.

Her slight wounds healed themselves quickly with the fresh infusion of blood from the battle. The blood she had drained from the big cat had boosted her energy to a level a little powerful for her and she swayed some as she watched the others.

“We need to get moving again as soon as possible.” She moved towards the cat and lost her balance slightly, but regained quickly reaching out to touch the cat to steady herself. She shook her head slightly, she felt as if she was coming down from a rush of energy all together too fast.

“We should decide who is going to ride our new friend here, shouldn’t be all of us as he wouldn’t be able to carry us for long.”

"Or heal that cat over there."

Athyna spoke more out of thought as she noticed a cat laying down, licking at the wounds. Had a few cuts along it's side, a gash running down it's front leg.

"Doesn't seem much to heal the cuts, doubt he can go back wounded like that, those kobolds will see him as a meal now, speically with scent of blood."

Athyna stood for a few moments making sure that Thalrynn would be alright. He actually leaned on her for a moment of support, which surprised her. Though, it did make her feel good.
She walked up to the cat, at first it was growling and snarling at her, ready to attack. But Athyna got down low onto one knee, holding her hands to show she was no threat. Inching her way towards the beast slowly. Whispering words of a spell, befriending the animal.

The cat stood up scared, but still ready to defend itself if it had to as Athyna got closer. Athyna stayed in one spot for sometime coaxing the cat, it took a few moments, mainly because the beast was scared. Though, the words that came out of the silver elf was soothing the cat, soon the cat came limping towards her and stood by Athynas' side purring deeply while Athyna stroked through it's fur.

Looking over the wounds, the one on the leg seemed to be the worse, almost down to the bone. They both walked back to the group, unwillingly she asked Kryss if she would be willing to heal him. Athyna would if she could, instead, Kryss broke free the the hold Jas had on her and went to cat. After looking over the wounds herself, she started with the one on the leg.

Both hands hovered over it lightly, her healing used to have a blue mist, now it was red. The power and the heat of the flames within her did the healing now. A wound that deep took sometime, the cat screamed in pain for a few moments as the heat burned the wound closed. Kryss did the same to the other wounds, the screams of cat brought slight guilt to kryss, yet, it needed to be done.

"The one on the leg we may need to keep an eye on. I healed it yes, but it was down to the bone the scar will remain and may have a chance of splitting open if not careful at first anyway."

She pet the cat apologizing for the pain, the cat purred at her soft touch.

Kyle

Just as well Kryss went to the aid of that huge cat, Kyle needed his hands free for the Chakra. His hands made a quick flurry of hand signs as he centered himself. Orienting on Thalryn, he tooka moment to study the elf's scattered chi. He saw and felt the ebb and flow...sensing where damage had been done and flow had been dammed.

He closed his eyes, seeing in his mind's eye how the elven swordsman's should appear. Then his eyes snapped open and his hands lashed out as quick as lightning. Feather-soft jabs of his finger-tips, charged with his own life force, prodded the shattred chi into shape and revieved what was lost. The bleeding of his injuries stopped, the smallest healing completely, but more importantly, it brought the slender elf a rush of vigor and clarity of focus. He stepped back, letting Thalryn adjust to the sudden burst of health that the Chakra had fostered. "That's allI can do for now, Thalryn." "I think you have your own magics for the rest though."

He cast an eye at where Kryss and Athyna were petting the now healed saber tooth. "I am...unsure of whether we should leave that thing be...let alone take it with us." "It and it's pride were just trying to tear us all to shreds." "It seems...unwise to leave it at our backs."

Athyna glared a second at Kyles words, looking at the other cat that Dom had under control.

"And that other one did not as well? Look at Dom, he's already feeding the thing. This ones pride is now thankful for the healing we gave it. It has been bred and trained to obey the ones that take care of it. If it was to go back, those things would most likely kill it because of the wound. It can not stay out here in the wild, it does not know how to hunt for itself. Granted, it could learn, but it was raised under the hands that fed and hunted for it."

Her animal insticts were taking over, she's a ranger and all animals she felt she has to protect. She didn't want to kill those other cats, but some things can not be helped.

"How you would feel if you were wounded, your ... in this case.. caretakers left you to die. Someone like .. well.. us.. comes along and takes you under their wing, then they to left you? Besides, that one cat can not handle six people. What would you suggest we do? This cat will follow us now like a lost puppy would."
