A - because she is the embodiment of the worst rightwinger stereotype. Homophobic, xenophobic, white-centric, chest-thumping, flag-waving, devoid of interest in actual problem-solving, and spectacularly ill-informed.

B - because no one would be able to fill Democratic coffers, or get lackadaisical Democratic asses to the polls, more effectively than presidential candidate Sarah Palin.


As for who'll win the Republican nomination, I'd say it will either be Palin or whoever has the stones, finesse, and conservative credentials to take her on without pissing off her yappy lapdogs (e.g., Limbaugh and Hannity) and the entire 'I can change a tire so I can run the country' crowd.

Good luck with that, to whoever wants to give it a go.

The flaw in Rubin's analysis is that she fails to address what Palin, herself, wants.

She'll be one of twelve or so running for president and with her name recognition and ever expanding money pockets, she's a lock to go all the way to the end and finish as high as third. But winning? There's nothing particularly homoerotic about either of these tales. The Alice books are full of political and social satire about the British culture at the time and Peter Pan --- the orginal play, not the Disney movie --- shows how frightfully sociopathic children are.
