Which crowd are you in?

Hmmm. I guess you could call me a jock.

When my buddies and I get together, we are usually doing something athletic. Racquetball, biking, heading out for a run, etc.

We also go to dinner at each other's homes, or out to interesting restaurants. Sometimes we just sit around talking about politics over a single malt or a beer.

Come to think of it.... Just to be perfectly clear, better put me down as a middle-aged jock. lol....

In my teens i was a HUGE fan of Ska, Adam Ant (had over 100 pics of him on my bedroom wall) ) madness and heavy rock/mental.

I guess that makes it a fairly broad group lol

For the past 20 years I have been a big fan of old men:
Meat Loaf
Rod Stewart, I really love his early stuff
Tom Jones, his version of 'Kiss' is very sexy

The exception being Robbie Williams, he is young but I would break my own rule and fuck him; all he has to do is ask ;)

When I am with friends we mainly talk about work and sex
I guess all that means I either fit into several groups, or none of them.

Thanks to a wonderful credit card I am going to see meatloaf and Rod Stewart in concert next year :nana: :nana:

Never heard of "New Romantic" music before. You must be real old guard.

New Romantic = Spandau Ballet, Ultravox, Visage, Duran Duran :) Very big in the years 1980-82.

I was never in the crowd. I was a David Bowie fan, I liked punk and metal not disco, and in my small rural area in NZ I didn't fit in at all

I tend to go for metal, industrial, and punk music, as well as old school rap, Eminem, Rammstein and Insane Clown Posse  :D

I never fit in with one group either. Guess I'm more of a hippie chick (Janis, Jimmi, the Dead, CSNY) with some 80s dance (Morris Day, Prince) thrown in, but loved the whole Ramones, Violent Femmes thing, too - at least in the 70s/80s. Now it's either adult alternative or country. Never did the goth thing and never truly did the punk thing, either. As for sci-fi/fantasy - nope, not my thing either. Guess I just don't really fit in anywhere. *sigh*

Color me Leather/Sadist/Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Horror/Gamer/Techno-Geek.
Been playing RPG's since 1977 (when D&D was a 3 digest sized book boxed set), LARP's since '88, and real BDSM/Leather/kinky stuff full time since 1998... You can find me playing Half-Life, HL2, Counter-Strike, and variants etc with my kids. I can't rack up the kills like they do, but I can toast most of their buds... *weg*

Musically I'm down with pretty much everything from Adam Ant to ZZ Top, from Bach & Beethoven to Chopin & Mozart. Country/Western and Gangsta rap are hard limits.

My beta is usually killing God's critters with a permit or getting sweaty with other men on weekends in esoteric and they insist non-sexual ways. And he always winds up with better wine than I do when we go out.

Much to his credit he's got Miles Davis in the changer. Much to my consternation he's also got Jimmy Buffet. What is with Jimmy Buffet, someone explain this to me, intergenerational translation needed.

M is a fussy metro geek with a counterstrike addiction and is completely stubbornly rooted in the 90's for the most part. If I go in the car it's got to be Blur, The La's, Lush, Spacehog (ew), U2. It ranges from things I love (Beautiful South) to things I grit my teeth during. He also has much more goth-industrial pop tolerance than I do. Mine is nearly nonexistent. (Yeah they threaten to pull my BDSM card over this every year.)

We can usually compromise over The Shins or Ride. I still love Ride.

WHAT!?! How can you not get Jimmy Buffet?

Okay, all kidding aside. It's a parrothead thing. I grew up in Jimmy Buffet territory - we had the very first Margaritaville at Gulf Shores. And when I was in high school and college, I hung out at a local bar that he would drop in on when he came to town, so actually got to sit around and drink beer with him while we all sang his songs. So I'm biased a bit. But it's a lyin-in-a-hammock-on-the-beach-drinking-frozen-drinks kinda thing. ;)

My daughters just roll their eyes when I get in my 80s mood. Especially after a good Kevin Smith movie marathon. :D

They fail to understand.

OK, if it has to do with sand and umbrella drinks this explains it well, actually. My travel never involves sand and umbrella drinks, it involves taxis, stress, and chinese food.

Sounds like maybe he should educate you by taking you South for a bit. A beach, a blender, a hammock, and a CD player full of Jimmy Buffet could relieve all your stress. Especially if you throw in a couple of cabana boys. :D

Sci Fi and Fantasy.

I used to be a big fan of Halo...if any of you Halo cats out there play it enough, you might run into a game called "Freeze Tag"...you can thank me and my friends for that fun! :nana:

I <3 Starcraft.

I want a Zergling for Christmas

Have my babies! <3! :nana:

(Although I'm not a big fan of FPS... and although I got a xbox, never got into Halo. Too much hype w/e. Then again I contradict myself with WoW and the zelda series.... I'm an oxymoron. Sue me. :rose: )

So put me down for Sci-fi/ Fantasy

You are american, Xelebes? -- Ah, I thought so... ;)

Ultravox, guilty pleasure indeed, Netzach... :D

I have a thang for gothic lolitas, surprisingly, or cosplay in general.

Also, SCIFI/fantasy-- TNG, DS9, Xena, Buffy

Who the heck is Jimmy Buffet???

Me too... I do go to some of the goth-indopop clubs every now and again, but only on the fetish nights and only if the scenery's worthwhile. If there's no pretty ladies in vinyl bits I'm outta there.

As for my crowd....

I'm a barefootin', gun-totin', mostly vegetarian but sometimes meat eatin', masochistic sadistic trangendered sexual outlaw Domme.

And I vote. ;)

Raver

...Yes, I was the idiot dancing on one of the speakers with hardly any clothes on & not making it home for a couple of days.

Look at my location. CA does not stand for California. I'm also 21.

I'm the one popping the robot while the MC is shouting "Boh!"

All girls private high school. Lettered in basketball and feild hockey. Had artwork and poetry featured in the school magazine, and won a state arts award. Went to tennis camp every year. Prom Queen. Won a couple of theatre awards. Stopped watching tv after grammar school except i liked to watch Xena and thought it was really hot when Aries (RIP) fucked with her and made her weak in the knees/powerless (yumyumyum), same with aeon flux and trevor. Buffy fan. I was sort of the quintasential daughter (except for that whole nearly failing out of school thing). i liked ska, alternative, pop, and a little bit o' metal.
then i got to college and everything changed. Now i'm a dirty hippie feminist gender advocate fire spinning hula hooping camping body modified community service crazy person. I like folk and world music. I work in student development and run a campus wide game of Assassins. I no longer toucher the techie side of computers. It's all about the CS.
