I don’t know much about Islam, although I majored in religion and still keep up with contemporary scholarship. As one who studied the New Testament and in particular the Gospels and ethics, I don’t see many self proclaimed Christians have a clue

Well, I don’t think it’s atypical. You could spend a lifetime studying a facet of a religion. I mean this was undergraduate study. I probably still know more than the average non-Muslim but mot enough to confidently put forth an argument

I would think October the 7th has a lot to do with that, also they do have a way of putting women and children in the firing line, even thought Israel warned them of pending airstrikes.

My cousin in Ireland was in the Irish Army and did UN service out there, he said they would give the children sweets during the day, and that night those same kiddies would open fire on them. I think that's telling enough, don't you? I don't think the deaths of any child is acceptable, but then we don't brainwash our children and send them off to fight men.

That has seen thousands killed for decades and homes/businesses and places of worship dismantled for 3/4 of a century

And what you are basically saying is, October 7th justifies slaughtering them, nothing justifies October 7th

Even though “Israel” has been killing Palestinians for 75 years and more

Even though the death toll is is thousands of degrees higher Palestinians to Israelis

Even though the documented war crimes are by far in excess of October 7th

The dehumanisation of Palestinians in favour of supremacist Israeli propaganda has got to stop. People need to educate themselves.
