Who Is Still Awake?

I had to google the term, otherwise I would have just thought it was a movie.

Guess it's not too bad if you're doing night shift.

Been working normal hours for a week. Tonight's the night to stay up to sleep all day tomorrow. Hopefully it'll be day shift for good soon.

It is 1:30am here, just finished my workout. Yes I can be a night owl. Just settled in a chair with a cup of tea, reading a good book.

What are you reading? Anything good?

I'm a rather hopeless night owl.

The Foundation trilogy

Also, I just noticed you added who is awake but does not want to be. I love this time at night!

Yeah, I do when I don't have to get up in the morning.

But it is nice to be alone in the quiet and the dark. Empty streets and sleeping cities.

It's morning here, a new week. Funny how it's always the wee small hours somewhere in Lit, though...

Mere minutes past midnight here in California's central Sierra Nevadas. That's early for me but I've got to get up early to take the trash out. I only do that a few minutes before the pick-up because wandering dogs or bears tend to forage. It'll be fun; torrential rain pours down in my forest and will continue awhile.

It's not exactly insomnia. Rather, my circa-dian biorhythm tops out around 10AM and 10PM, and bottoms-out around 4AM and 4PM. I have these windows of wakefulness and obliteration. I'll have to obliterate myself pretty soon to be up in time tomorrow.

I used to live up there.

Beautiful area.

I'm still awake.

I woke up twenty-four minutes ago, and I'm still awake!

Can you believe it?
