I shaved around my man-area once and had an ingrown hair that turned into an infected boil. That sucked...a lot. I still have a little bump there, I don't know if I'll do it again. I thought about using nair or something, but I'm kind of scared to put anything chemical or sharp near my balls these days.

As for why anyone would shave there are aesthetic reasons as well as sensation reasons. Sensitivity is increased, smoothness is a nice feeling, and it reduces the amount of vaguely awkward pubes-in-teeth syndrome. Good old PIT.

I like being shaved because I can feel everything more. However, I generally don't do it myself as who really has the time? My showers usually have to be done in 8 minutes or less and that's just enough time to shave my legs and underarms and wash my hair (which is bum length) and body, let alone get my nether regions. (That and I have a stall shower, so there is no way I can angle myself properly to get everything.)

My husband does it for me when we have the extra time. It's kind of fun and intimate that way as well. Otherwise, I just keep it trimmed down with the clippers as much as possible. I do like to leave a little bit of hair, but that's because I'm a red head and guys seem to like that.

My husband has shaved several times for me before but honestly, I don't really like it like that. For one thing, the regrowth is a bitch. There's nothing worse than climbing on top, lowering yourself down only to have your most delicate areas assaulted by the prickles of regrowth.

I may look into waxing in the future, but that's an issue of cost.

I hope my hubby agrees. I was a bit curious about the whole shaving thing, and after reading this thread, I went ahead and shaved. Not completely bald though, seems too wierd for me. But, due to life, kids and work schedules, I haven't had five minutes with the man so he hasn't seen me yet. *I* like it. Never been particularly impressed with that area before, but, I don't know, it looks 'prettier'. Felt a bit odd the first day, nice odd, but thankfully not supersensitive orgamsic odd. That would have been hard to explain at work...Real Estate law is *not* that exciting. Thinking about DH's reaction, now that is exciting.

I can't speak for her, but I know I love when the gf shaves. I actually prefer a lightly trimmed but otherwise natural bush.
