Why is Mike Pence running for President?

JEB!

All the money and the cool bumper sticker. HOW COULD HE POSSIBLY LOSE? :nana:
This round, can’t afford bumper stickers as millions going to legal defense fund of the front runner. Usually, for conservatives, that would be deal breaker. Not these brainwashed MAGA folks.

I'm sure there are plenty of bumper stickers and yard signs to go around.

Maybe even a few billboards...

Hopefully they bought orange ink… because that will be his new color.

But, the Cheeto does like any attention he can get. Keep breaking laws and claim a witch hunt, and the best part is the small minds believe he didn’t do it.

I wish I could bring myself to hate him like you do, but y'all are just turning him into a sympathetic character...

If we didn't have a two-tiered, politically-orientated justice system, you'd hate Biden with the same fervor.

Hate? Hmmm, Joe didn’t have a mob storm the capitol. No one has, aside from the Cheeto.

Thanks for playing.

Now, Biden's mobs prefer to riot, loot and burn.

He's bribable and has made that clear for years.

Did Trump not say to peacefully march on the Capitol in that famous speech?

Did the Capitol burn???

Those mobs burned the capitol? Trying to overthrow the country? I must have missed it.

Keep defending him, shows your true colors.

Law and Order…right….

His party is now the party of Trump.
Then violence is inevitable. There is only one solution that prevents this inevitability and Democrats here refuse to accept it. That makes them just as culpable as those that implement the violence.

The response of full-scale, January 6th-level violence to conviction/imprisonment of Trump is mostly Trump wishful thinking and propaganda. The responses to his indictments so far weren't anything like this. We'll see what it is to the most serious indictment to drop any day now. By the time of conviction/imprisonment, Trump is likely to be well into "who cares?" zone, with his following being miniscule.

The inevitable violence has nothing to do with Trump and his minions. This is exactly the problem i point out with members of my Party. They are fucking blind to what is really happening. Reactive...not proactive. Watch and learn. Don't bitch to me on a porn board when it escalates above the day to day already present. Americans are very dissatisfied with the direction both Parties are heading.

Has violence towards women increased or decreased?

Has violence towards gays, lesbians, trans...whatever label you want to pick...increased or decreased?

Has violence towards religious entities increased or decreased?

Has violence with guns in schools increased or decreased?

Has violence in parking lots increased or decreased?

Has violence with cops increased or decreased?

Why is this? Because people are angry. They need someone to blame other than themselves.

This is not because of Trump. This was already happening. All he did was make it acceptable. Even if Trump is not in the picture...violence will keep increasing in the US because we are broken morally.

Yes, yes, I've gotten that you are obsessed with a coming violent revolution in the United States. I'm not.

He has zero chance of winning the GOP nomination. And is having problems raising money. Did Mother insist he run?

Not sure why those other clowns are in the race either.

Rob DeSantis - should have stayed on the sideline. He was hoping something would happen to Trump. Now if something does happen to DJT, the MAGA crowd isn’t going to embrace Ron DeSantis

Chris Christie - he and Mike Pence are competing to see who can get the fewest votes

Asa Hutchinson - trying to find out if there any non-crazy Republicans left. Spoiler Alert: there aren’t

Nikki Haley - hoping to tap the undiscovered Desi vote

Vivek Ramaswamy - wants to be VP and thinks the undiscovered Desi vote will give him an edge

Tim Scott - looking to be the VP candidate

Francis Suarez -who?

Will Hurd - who?
The hope is to fracture the vote for Trump. The alarmingly rotund Chris Christie would need a friggin' crane to get into Air Force One.

So you're saying that candidates for President want to get the most votes?

Say it ain't so!

Trump has a good 60 pct locked up. The others are just fighting over what’s left. MP and CC are seeing who can get the fewest votes. Although CC is going to go down swinging. Pence just keeps confirming what Trump said about him: he is a pussy.

To say the very least.;)

He's raising his profile so that he can ask the person who eventually beats Trump for a role (such as VP).
I don't think anybody is beating Trump to the Republican nomination, even more so that his rivals have made so many false steps since. Pence is hated by most of the base since December 2020. DeSantis could have impersonated a Reagan or Bush type about conservative economics and welcoming some immigrants, allied himself to the anti-Trump Republicans of old, but he instead signed a 6-week abortion law in Florida that is a disaster in a national contest, while he also caters to the narrow minded petit-bourgeois instead of big business. Basically, DeSantis wants to fight Trump on Trump's territory of "America First" and going after the conservative evangelicals. That is surely doomed to fail, especially as Trump will have no qualms whatsoever in getting deep in the gutter when it comes to personal insults and attacks, and even humor.

Who was it that announced an investigation into Hillary Clinton (reopening an already concluded enquiry into an email server) just eleven days before the 2016 election? As I recall it was James Comey (R). And she still had 3 million more votes.

If we didn't have a two-tiered politically orientated justice system Hillary would easily have won the electoral college although Trump would have just claimed that it was rigged and organised an insurrection. He said out loud that is what he would have claimed if he had lost any of the Primaries.

I wonder if Trump would ever consider destroying data on a server?

Clinton had nearly 3 million more votes than Trump, with Clinton winning by over 4 million votes in California alone. Clinton won 20 states to Trump's 30 states. The most states won by an eventual loser in a presidential election was 27, i.e. Gerald Ford in 1976.

Do you mean deleting the hard drive on the video server at Mar-a-Lago that showed the shuffle of boxes from one room to another in order to hide them from Trump's lawyer and is now under investigation?

As we approach the 2024 election, our nation again immerses itself in a fight for democracy. Both major political parties are increasingly unpopular and need more compelling appeal to many citizens.

Forecasters have former President Trump unequivocally being nominated again by his party; it serves as an unfortunate testament to the lowest standard of candidacy in our democratic process. The diverse array of Republican candidates engaging in political theatrics fails to put forth coherent policy discussions, showcasing the lack of vitality in the Republican Party—clearly, the Trump platform will be the only one – the DOJ vs. Donald Trump presidency platform.

President Biden's dedication to his platform remains unwavering on the other side of the aisle. Although, his commitment to his vision for the nation has lost traction among supporters. As the incumbent, President Biden's re-nomination is also a foregone conclusion. No viable contenders stand head and shoulders above Biden in appeal to the Democratic party voters.

The campaigns we will witness between Biden and Trump will be the worst display of vindictiveness ever seen in an American election. Former President Trump will continue to rail against the legal system as it plods forward in a Quixotic attempt to serve equal justice for all. His platform has evolved solely to encapsulate the principle of self-preservation. Meanwhile, our democratic process will face further challenges in the judicial system. It will no longer reflect the values that drove our nation forward. Instead, it will reverse newly acquired freedom for the marginalized.

Yet, we can remain hopeful about the future generations of leaders who will come to the forefront. Our country's abundant talent and diverse perspectives ensure that, over time, younger and dynamic individuals will rise to run for office, contributing their unique visions and ideas. Hopefully, that process of healing will begin with the 2028 election candidates.

So, let us embrace the beauty of democracy and maintain a respectful and peaceful 2024 election year. Accept that we have fair and honest elections and electors, and regardless of our political affiliations, let’s celebrate the essence of democracy as we navigate the path toward a more United States of America.

US capitalism and its so-called "democracy" is a joke. Big business corporations and banks run this society, not the people, not "democracy". Trump railing against the swamp, therefore, attracts a lot of supporters and sympathizers. RFK Jr. condemning Biden's war in Ukraine attracts some support. The same old crap from the same old politicians has nothing to offer the American people.
