Why is rape frowned upon?

OK, let's not all go and kill SK, because he invents and write about serial killers. Worst than rapist? Yes. Rape is an act of violence.

So what if a writer wants to write about rape. Do you think that it will prevent one woman from being raped by not writting it? Nope.

Wake the fuck up! Nothing here is that fucking good. A rapist is a rapist is a rapist. They won't be created nor destoryed here.

What I'm hearing is sensorship.

Bravo!

Horrible things happen in this world, but writing is not one of them.

Thankyou, Blacksnake, for saying it better than I could have.

I think its all been said ... but I would so like to see the original thread starter's take on everything that has been said. If he's talking about rape or non consent as a category, I'd say, if you don't like it, steer clear ... but if he's talking about real life rape ... are there any more slots left in the bondagedildofuckhim club?

I'm afraid that the original poster has never been back - he's only got one post, this one, so we can rather forget about it. I'm very, very surprised to see this thread still alive.

I'm male, so I admit this opionion might be a little skewed.

When I first started writing fanfiction, it was all lovey-dovey. "do take couple from story, mate couple, lather, rinse, repeat"

Then a fan of my work asked me to do a blatantly non-consentual piece. I'd done relucatant before, but this would be the first rape work I'd done. Figured it would be something different, so I did it, although I had to add a reluctance twist at the end.

So, I ask. Why is rape seen in such a harsh light? It's sex between two people, which both parties *should* orgasm from. I mean, everyone has dreams of sex with strangers that they enjoy. Why does spontaneous sex have to be such a bad thing? Why is this any different?

Having consentual sex with a stranger is very different from being forced into sex even reluctant sex is different from rape. The reason it's looked down upon is because it involes violating anoter person in a way that is neither enjoyable nor consentual. It's like the difference between a friend having the keys to your place and coming over and having a complete and total stranger break in and steal from you.

Well, first lets draw a line between a rape story, and a rape.

There are people who like rape stories; I have no problem with that, provided that they do NOT envision themselves, in their visualizations or fantasies about the story, as the rapist. I understand that, just like there are people who like to be submissive in BDSM, there are people who have a fantasy about being raped. Quite frankly it unnerves and disturbs me, but part and parcel of living in a free society and operating in an open forum is accepting divergent thought.

Rape, however, is not a *%@(ing laughing matter.

One of the great things we've accomplished in the last century is giving women back their sexuality, which we males have stolen for centuries, millennia in some instances. When a woman puts on a strip show, she isn't selling sex; she's selling sexuality, which is hers by right, a right which finally is acknowledged. When a man rapes a woman [and in this particular rant, I am dealing with a man of age raping a woman of age; pedophilia and a woman raping a man are two rants separate from this one] he is not only stealing sex--which itself would be a felony--but he is stealing her sexuality. He is turning back the clock five hundred years, for a brief stretch of time. It is as though, for five minutes, one put an african american in the abject slavery of 1850 Mississippi. It is as though for five minutes, you put me in Auschwitz.

Women often--almost always--have psychological damage as a result of rape. That isn't because of the sex, it is because of the sexuality. Neither you nor I can begin to understand it, because we are males, and, unless I am mistaken, have never been raped.

This post of yours is simply disrespectful to those who have been raped.

If you have to ask you'll never know
