Well, the main problem is that no amount of compromising is good enough for the "Liberals." Generally speaking, I have always been pretty liberal despite growing up in a Southern Baptist home in Georgia. I was cool with gay people and abortions before it was a fad. Anyway, when you give them gay marriage, then they want a gender spectrum or gender "fluidity." Then SJWs argue that people are racist for asking where people are from. Yes, it's a new word in the dictionary - microagressions. Women still don't have equal rights even though I don't see any women signing up for plumber or waste disposal managers.

And what's wrong with any of that? The long arc of history bends towards justice, and there is always more justice unseen beyond the horizon. E.g., transgenders have always existed, and society has always made them unhappy in various needless ways, and until very recently nobody recognized that as a problem; but a problem it is and always was.

There are no rational arguments for the anti-refugee position, and several against it, not to mention basic human decency.

I think the US is partly responsible for the refugee crisis because it de-stabilized the middle east. As ugly as that part of the world is, we need to accept the way they function. It's a system that we will never fully understand, but it works for them and we should leave them the fuck alone. They are a tribal society. There isn't a strong sense of national identitiy.

It's really frustrating to have people say "you're just mad because Hilary didn't win" When I didn't want her to win either, I would have preferred Bernie, and even he had things that I disagreed with. However, just know that the populations resistance to the behavior of Trump, has absolutely nothing to do with being upset that someone else didn't win.

And as the source you cited notes, neither Hillary or her campaign had anything to do with this volunteer starting the rumor, or spreading it. She nipped it in the bud and the whole birther lie didn't become "a thing" until Trump & Co. took it up just before the 2012 campaign.
