What he did was put the US dog back on the European leash. That is where the leaders of Europe, at least those at the time, 'like' us, and where the American left is comfortable as well. One of the reasons they're starting to sound like the reactionaries of old. They were, and still are, wholly unprepared to deal with a post cold war world. I think, at this point, we're pretty much stuck with Hilary. What sucks is that one of the first things she's going to do is take away our right to bear arms. Now, we have that right for a reason; to overthrow our government should things get out of hand. That's exactly what it says in the Constitution! So, if someone in power wants to take away our right to overthrow the government, I'm worried what in the world her plans might include. Hopefully, she will never become President, and if she does, she'll be either impeached or assassinated right away! (hopefully)
