Why you wear bra?

Cultural tradition and gravitational pull seem to dictate that I wear a bra. It's necessary but not fun. They can't really be called "pretty" for my size. More like industrial.

It's pretty much impossible to find attractive bras over a C cup these days, unless you're willing to shell out 50 bucks or more per bra. And with a three month old, I don't have a couple hundred to spare for lacy underthings to hold up my knockers. :(

I wear a bra because its more comfortable and it helps contain the sagging. Plus I really hate having headlights for all to see.

Ladies, try La Senza. They have cute and sexy bras that go up to 40E, and they frequently have sales (right now, for example). Also, wonderbra's minimisers really do give the appearance of smaller jumblies and are the Gods gift to larger-breasted women. They aren't too expensive and are pretty and lacy.

Good luck! :rose:

Mini-hijack is good. Pardon me if I continue it. Can't find anything my size at La Senza, but here's a great company I've ordered from that offers many bras at sizes way past E: Lady Grace.

32C - the next three bras I want to buy are $135, $249 and $205. I don't even want to discuss the price of the matching bottoms. LOL

Bras are your foundation. If you're in an ill-fitting bra the odds are good you'll look heavier, larger busted, your clothes won't fit as well and if you're fuller busted you'll have shoulder neck and back pain. Budget for it.

Minimizers actually damage breast tissue - it's much better to be properly fitted for a good bra. Breast tissue is fat and milk duct, and the only thing holding them "up" are the ligaments connecting the breast tissue to the chest wall [muscle]. Wearing a minimizer smashes the breast tissue against the ligaments, and binds everything so tightly the ligaments are weakened because they aren't allowed to naturally shift and move as your body moves. Minimizers also flatten in terms of profile, but the tissue tends to spread - making a woman look wider/fatter than she is.

As to the original question - I wear them because I love lingerie, the bras I own are incredibly comfortable so it doesn't bother me to wear them, and I'm worth the investment in my figure and physical health.

Aw, are you serious? I had no idea I was hurting my boobs!!!

What else can I do to make them look smaller? I show cleavage unless I'm wearing a turtleneck and people stare at my boobs all the time. I layer, always wear tank tops underneath all my shirts, never wear anything tight up top unless I'm going out for special occasions. I thought a minimizer bra was the only thing I could do to look...more...you know, under the radar. :(

A bra that actually *fits* will help you look smaller.

I'm just curious to know that, why ladies wear bra, what does it feet to have or not to have a bra. etc etc

I wear a bra when I go out for three reasons:

1. I feel too self conscious if I bounce or my nipples stand out. On occasions when I have gone out braless, I've spent most of my time with my arms crossed.

2. If I have to walk fast, exercise or run for a bus, it hurts enough even with some styles of bras on. Even at home, if I step off my front doorstep too fast without a bra on, my boobs slap against my tummy.

3. Many of my clothes fit better with a bra as they are designed with the fullest point of the bust at a set position.

At home, I rarely wear a bra unless I'm exercising or pre-menstrual.

I heva been sized at Victoria Secret and I like to beleive they know what they are doing. Is there a better place to go?

Rigby and peller in London is the best I have come accross, they really do take time to make sure the bra fits you and that you walk away with the right one.

I've noticed that VS's guide for measuring on their website is different than how i was actually measured in store....something to think about.

Back pain without. I don't want breasts that droop to my belly button in middle and old age. I like to look nice in my clothes.

At home, I tend to wear a sports bra because its more comfortable and again... back pain. Don't wear one to bed because I'm not sitting up, clearly. :p

And I will wear very pretty ones when I want to be sexy for my husband. :)

I jog and workout to keep them in place. 36c so do have to wear them on ocassion. Support is the main reason. Sports bras are nice to wear. Don't wear them sleeping. I sleep nude and love the feel of satin sheets. I like bras that are silk or lacy. On party nights, I wear a top that includes the bra part. I try to avoid them unless working.

I had absolutely no idea... thank you :rose:

I jumped from a size D to a double D after having my last baby. My husband hates that I wear a bra, he thinks I'm torturing myself with this self-inflected form of bondage lol. Anyway, I have never really felt uncomfortable not wearing a bra, even if my breasts are a little larger. Unless I plan on running or something, I usually don't mind going without. Some items of clothing look better and more professional if you wear a bra because of the lift they provide. When it's real cold out, a bra also helps insulate them. Plus, I'm self-conscious of the lopsidedness of my breasts, so I prefer to wear a bra to help hide that. The nipple-age thing never did bother me, though. If they are hard, their hard. Ain't nothing I can do about it and I'm not about to be embarrassed over the fact that my nipples are hard due to the cold or whatever reason that's beyond my control.

The only time I sleep with a bra on is when I'm trying to keep my husbands hand's off me.
