The acts of intimidation are intolerable and the students should be punished. But being anti-Israel is not the same as being anti-semetic. I have nothing against Jews at all, if anything I think they've had a very unfortunate history that balances between them being victimized and them being taken advantage of in no small part by cowardly Christians and Muslims. I have very little support for Israel however and think they cause us a lot more problems than they solve.

Antisemitism seems to be the reflexive accusation used whenever anyone dares criticize the Israeli government for it's actions.

Speaking out against the way the Israeli government conducts itself with regard to the Palestinians and the Gaza Strip is not Antisemitism any more than criticizing the US with regards to our actions abroad is Anti-Christian, Anti-American, or Un-Patriotic.

The intent of the accusation is not to point out actual Antisemitism, which does indeed happen, the intent is to shut down any and all criticism of Israeli foreign policy which is something else entirely.

How so? Vette made a sweeping claim about the left being anti-semitic and I don't buy it. I don't think people on the left think very often of Jews much at all to be honest. Just like I don't care enough about Hindus or Shintos or any religion other than Christianity and Islam enough to even have much of an opinion about them at all. I don't interact with them, governments that are controled by them or members of their religion often enough to give a second thought.

Israel=/=Jews. There are lots of good reasons not to be a huge fan of Israel.
