Yep, itā€™s true that mass-produced symbols can lose meaning without the right context or intention.

But then I could argue the power of a symbol isnā€™t in how ā€˜authenticā€™ it appears, but in the relationship the person has with it.

My tattoo isnā€™t trying to replicate the original, itā€™s a personal emblem, not a replica. But yes, not an ideal late-night debate by any means!

You did sorta mention her earlier with no actual prompt. (Having read the threads I gather there was just a little miscom.) Happens to the best of us. Bean didnā€™t use your name in her earlier comment, it was a string of nice messages we were leaving to bring her confidence up, I doubt it was to stir any dramas with you. I have commented on your threads a few times and I think your amazing but thereā€™s no need to bring Bean into a page long apology/another reason to rant. I think your friend needs not act like a pigeon carrier and read things here to bring to you. Itā€™s only going to disrupt the waters and this is a lovely thread so letā€™s all keep it that way.

Nothing special hahah, I wear a bit of makeup when I go out because I like to feel put together and I do often feel likeā€¦ because I donā€™t go out with 0 makeup on a lot (unless itā€™s day to day activities) men may not like it as much? No passive aggressiveness at all. I donā€™t wish her ill will and it was a brain fart moment of mine but also donā€™t understand why she takes offense to a compliment directed to me when it had nothing to do with her originally. Hence I edited my dumb comment, simply addressed it in one post with my apology and then moved on.
I then posted for bean to look at it in her thread in case she blocked me as I do her so someone would tell her to read it.

If Iā€™m intuiting right then probably best not to retangle the threads, so to speak. In that spirit I hope you slept well eventually and have wildly exciting plans afoot today...

..and also that you survived what was touted as the ā€˜rare August amber warning/must stay indoors/terrifying wind ordealā€™ in central Scotland yesterday. Which, from my experience of it, translated into ā€˜a slightly windy day, but where everybody had an excuse to say they couldnā€™t make it to workā€™ :D
