WOD: Through the Darkness of Forever

Sonja

She followed him nervously. She didn't know if it was ok to be heading deeper into the club, where it seemed no others were.
His words that he knew the bartender, seemed to help ease her nervousness.

He pulled her into a dark room, that had the musty smell of storage and dust. Then he pulled her close, she didn't care anymore where they were, she felt safe. She about melted when his lips met hers. His kisses sent shivers through her.

There was a sudden flash of pain as he sank his fangs into the tender flesh of her throat, but that too faded into waves of pure pleasure. She gasped only momentarily and let herself be lost in the pleasure of his touch as he held her close.

It was only as she began to weaken, that she tried to pull away. But he was too strong and held her tight against him. Her eyes widened as she felt her strength leaving her, she only whimpered softly as darkness closed in on her and she slipped from consciousness....

I withdrew my fangs reluctantly as I felt her form go limp. Her blood had been very sweet...I hadn't tasted anything like that for the longest time. I was disappointed to see her faint so soon.

But it was time to finish what I started. I went to my side and drew the small knife I had strapped to my belt. I brought it to my wrist and made a long cut across the veins. It was a sharp pain, but a welcome one. It hadn't taken long to find pleasure in almost all forms of pain. I let the blood dribble down my arm slightly until I held out my arm and let it drip into Sonja's mouth.

"Drink up." I said with a half-smile. "The night is young."

Sonja

There was nothing in the darkness, but pain... She felt the darkness enveloping her, and a peacefulness settling in then as quickly as the peacefulness was settling in it felt as if it was ripped away from her.

There was something warm on her lips, she licked her lips, the taste was coppery and warm. As soon as she had swallowed she was overwhelmed by the need for more.

She barely heard his words as she reached instinctively for his wrist, pulling it to her lips and drinking deeply. It seemed all to soon when he pulled his wrist away, she looked to him, her eyes were filled with a hunger, but there was also a hint of fear and confusion there as well.

The corners of my lips turned up in a smile as I saw the look of blood lust in her eyes. It was beautiful sight.

I leaned and licked her neck again, making sure that I was sealing the wounds. Then I licked my own wrist as well. I didn;t care much for my own blood, but the feeling was still delightful.

"Don't worry, Sonja. Everything is going to be different now...Everything's going to be better." I smiled and scooped her up in my arms. She was still weak; she would need time to rest. But that is what my home is for.

I led her out the back enterance and layed her inside the red Viper outside the building. The rain had slowed down dramatically and it was time to get her back to my house. The old victorian building on the wealthy side of the city.

I got into the car and put the keys in the ignition. The car started and we drove off into the night.

Sonja
She shuddered slightly as he leaned forward and licked at the tender spot on her throat, and watched as he licked his own wrist. She licked her lips as she noticed the small amount of blood on his skin. She felt so strange, kind of tingling all over almost as if electrically charged.

She looked to him as he spoke. Then he smiled and picked her up, she wrapped her arms about his neck, and laid her head against his chest, she was so so tired. She closed her eyes and listened to his hear….her eyes widened, she couldn’t hear his heartbeat.

She was vaguely aware of them leaving the club, until she sat her down in the seat of the car. She smiled as the car’s engine roared to life, the feel of the power of it coming to her through the seat.

She glanced over to him in the darkness as he drove away from the club. It seemed the tingling she had felt before was slowly dissipating, or maybe she was just getting used to it.

She looked out the window as he pulled the car into a driveway of a very nice home, all she wanted right now was to rest, to sleep… to find out what had happened to her in that storeroom.

I brought Sonja into the large Victorian home the stood in front of us. I smiled to myself. It's good to be home.

I brought her downstairs into the cold and dark basement. I set her down on a large plush bed. I didn't want to put her in a coffin yet...it would freak her out too soon. Besides, no light was getting down here.

"Just get some rest, luv. I'll explain everything tomorrow." I moved over to a cabinet on the wall and opened it. It was lined with blood packets that I had pilfered from the local hospital last week. I pulled one out and brought it to her side.

"In case you get thirsty." I said with a smile and walked off upstairs, leaving her side. I moved out onto a balcony of the back of the house and looked up into the moon, letting out a low sigh.

I heard a noise behind me and I could tell from the footsteps who it was. Nervous, with hesitence.

"Good evening, William."

"Malakai." He said simply. "I have some news for you."

"As to be expected." I nodded.

"The Sabbat are not very pleased with you, Malakai." The man's disapproving voice said. "They are quite concerned at your complete lack of regard for their power. They are almost ready to break your agreement."

"My debt to them is almost paid off." I waved my hand dismissively. "It won't be too much longer."

"You still owe them a sleeper mage, Malakai."

"Soon, Will, soon. I promise." I told him. "Look, just tell them to wait a little bit longer, and I will give them the mage they want. One who is immortal and already has great control of her powers."

William rose an eyebrow. "That's a hefty promise, especially from you. You do know the others call you "Malakai the Liar", don't you?"

"I am aware of it. Just tell the leader of their little Sabbat clubhouse that if she can hold on to her britches for a few more days, I will deliver one hell of a mage." I smiled to him. "C'mon. Have I ever steered you wrong?"

"Yes." Willaim said bluntly, then sighed. "Fine. I can get you three days at the most. You had best make good on your word or you will witness some of the Sabbat's very wicked torture routines."

"I've already listened to their long-winded speeches." I said. "I don't know how much worse it could get."

William rolled his eyes and left me alone. I turned back to the moon. Three days....I could do it.

Sonja

She was growing more nervous as he carried her down a hall then opened a door that led down into darkness. He flipped on a light and they descended.

As they reached the bottom of the stairs she looked about noting the room was set up much like an ornate bedroom. He walked over to the large bed and set her down gently upon it. She looked to him, and started to speak. Her words were stopped as he spoke, "Just get some rest, luv. I'll explain everything tomorrow."

She watched him as he walked to the cabinet and returned to the bedside with a pouch, he sat it on the bedside table. She didn’t have to pick it up to know what it contained, she had donated blood enough to know. "In case you get thirsty." He smiled and then walked away leaving here there alone, she heard the barley audible click of the door as it closed after him, then the clear sound of the lock being engaged.

It was then she panicked, why had he brought her here like this, what had he done to her to keep her from fighting. She stood, on unsteady legs and moved about the room. The fear grew as she found the room contained no windows and the door up the stairs was definitely locked.

What had he meant he would explain tomorrow? How long was he going to hold her here? What had she gotten herself into? She had no choice but to wait and find out when he returned, what his plans for her were.

She moved back to the bed and sat down, suddenly she was extremely tired, all she wanted to do was curl up under the heavy covers and sleep, hoping to wake in the morning to find this had been on hell of a bad dream.

I returned to the basement after a while and saw that Sonja had fallen asleep. That's good...she would need rest and morning was coming soon.

I walked over to the side and opened up a lavish coffin that rested on a slab of marble. There were ornate decorations all around the family crest on the center.

Not my family crest, of course. I stole it from another vampire that I had encountered a few hundred years back. I like it; it's quite comfy, in fact. I stepped inside and closed it around me. Now, to get some rest.

Tomorrow would be a full day.

Lucian.....Lucian....she could hear him, feel his presence near. He had found her so quickly...their bond was ever so much stronger than she had known.

The stench of her captor's breath near her face, the touch of his yellowed fingernail on her cheek, the sound of his voice, oozing from between cracked lips, all brought her head lolling about. She ached to escape his smothering presence, to be free of his steely grasp over her.

Lucian's voice echoed softly in her mind, and she felt the gentle tendrils of his essence weaving about her, inside of her, slowly tearing apart the invisible bonds that held her there.

Simon had not yet been notified...if only Lucian could take her from this place before the thing contacted her mentor...

She clung to each thread of Lucian that made it inside of her, slowly awakening, slowly becoming stronger....becoming whole with him.

Lucian

The creature grinned at Lucian as he pulled his hand away from the groaning Victoria. He stepped in front of her, blocking her with his body.

"Come, little boy," the creature growled at Lucian. "See if you can take her from me."

Lucian pulled the Infinity Rod in front of him, and dashed forward, bringing the staff around for a strike at the creature's head. Much to his suprise, the nightwalker calmly raised his hand, and blocked his strike, without even any effort.

Mouth agape, Lucian took a step back from the creature, amazed at its display of strength.

"What's wrong, little man? Did you overstep yourself? Do you now understand what you face? I am a Vampire, a hunter, and you are mere food to me."

Lucian shared a long look with his repulsive opponent. Lucian had studies vampires with his old Masters. They possesed a wealth of different powers, but no two had the same ones. This one obviously had primarily physical powers. Increased speed, strength, and stamina, coupled with all vampires natural weapons and abilities to regenerate, could make him a dangerous opponent. Lucian needed to change his tactics.

"It is time... here i come!"

Smiling, the vampire seemed to waver, and dissapeared from Lucians view.

Celerity! He has increased his speed!

Lucian dove to the side, bringing his staff up to deflect the blow coming from his side at the last second. Lucian could hear the laugh of the nightwalker echo through the warehouse, as he spun around, trying to determine where it was coming from. Another strike came, from his back side, and again, Lucian managed to barely deflect it, though the sheer force of the strike knocked him back, and five red lines appeared on his side, evidence of how close the nightwalkers claws had come.

Lucian stepped back again, and, twirling his staff in an arc in front of him, attempted to keep the creature at bay as he chanted quickly. Finishing the spell, Lucian felt his time frame speed up, allowing his body to keep up with the nightwalker. Smiling, Lucian turned to meet his opponent, who still thought he had the upper hand. Focusing his will through the Infinity Rod, Lucian tapped into the artifacts power, and willed it to change shape. The Rod, glowing with the sphere of Matter, changed, becoming a finely honed katana. Lucian brought it up, blocking the nightwalkers claws, and taking two digits clean off its hand before it recoiled in pain.

Black blood dripping from his blade, Lucian smiled at his opponent.

"You are not the only one with a few suprises."

Sometimes....I want to let go of everything....when despair overwhelms my senses, it's as if time stands still...and all I can do is wait patiently....eternally....for the light to find my soul....

Lucian's years of diligent training rewarded him now as he skillfully evaded the vampire's quick attacks, and Victoria stirred, drawn forth by his light. Through slitted eyes she could almost see the thread-like filament's as they spanned the room from Lucian's heart, continuing to make their way into herself. A warmth so familiar, swelled within her...delving into her core, calling out to her for strength.

She felt a burning upon her chest, searing her pale flesh, and listlessly she looked down to see her amulet glowing a luminous hue. Her mind still hazy, was only just beginning to grasp the reality of the situation, as her body suddenly rose from the chair, her head still lolling slightly.

We are meant to be one...always together...held fast within the boundaries of our souls...

She understood....as one, they could overcome any adversary....as one, they would be unsurmountable. It was then that she let herself be completely infused with his light...the amulet branding her permanently. The creature was quite surprised at her rising, and hissed through gritted teeth as she settled, still aglow, on her feet before Lucian. It was but a moment, but seemed to take an eternity, and she smiled serenely...holding out her arms to her twin soul. He smiled softly, and accepted her into his embrace, the light surging about them both, blinding the beast....damning it eternally. Was it Lucian who was able to focus their energies in such a way? Victoria did not care, and simply basked in the glow, lending her strength, soul, and love to him.

Lucian

Lucian dodged and weaved, using the Infinity Rod, in the form of a katana, to hold the nightwalkers strikes at bay. Lucian felt the power ring though every blocked blow, each strike leaving his arms tingling. The creature showed no sign of slowing, constantly raining blows down on Lucian from every direction. The advantage Lucian had gained was being slowly chiseled away by the nightwalker, and Lucian knew he was tiring.

As Lucian turned to deflect yet another blow from the creature, something sparkled in the corner of his eye. Turning, Lucian saw the bound figure of Victoria, saw a blue flash on her breast, where her amulet lay. Her bonds dissolved, and she rose from her chair, almost floating... and came towards him. He could see her power, her desire, her love for him, reaching out from her heart towards his, and he could feel his own heart open up, and meet her. His hand reached for her, and finally, took her in his arms. As they touched, their light joined, and grew, filling the entire room with blinding silver light.

The creature hissed and recoiled from the light, shielding his eyes from their power. Lucian smiled at her, his love, his twin, and, still holding her hand, turned to face the cowering creature. Lucian gathered the power, their power, and formed a lance of the silvery light.

"What are you doing? Please, spare me!" the creatures voice had lost all of its earlier arrogance, and it cowered before them.

"I am going to show you mercy. The mercy you did not show Victoria."

With that, Lucian cast the lance at the nightwalker, impaling his black heart, sending the creature into torpor. With the threat ended, the silvery light withdrew back towards the pair, until it had come back fully within them, leaving the room once again lit only by the hanging light.
