Ladies, if you wear thong or g-string panties (or any other kind out of the ordinary), please answer this for me.

Why?

It seems to me I notice more women wearing thongs and such today. (This is sometimes obvious because they wear low-cut jeans or clothing so tight that you can see what style underwear they have on.)

Do you do it because you want men to lok at you? Or is there some other reason?

Thongs have become more popular in the last few years, definitely...not sure if it was the "thong song" or the media mainstreaming of more risque' clothing that we used to see mostly on strippers and porn stars, or a combination of different things.

There are some women who will tell you they wear thongs exclusively b/c they're more comfortable, or b/c of panty lines, etc. I wear all different styles of underwear, including thongs, but if it's panty lines i'm worried about (as opposed to looking fashionable in my underwear) i choose to go without any panties at all. I personally don't find thongs that much more comfortable.

I think wearing a thong so that it will be seen by everyone on the street (e.g., sticking out of your low-rise jeans) is pretty tacky. I remember going out to breakfast with my entire family once and seeing a woman with a big thong sticking out of her pants and we were ALL snickering at her...me, my parents, my siblings, the waitstaff, the kitchen staff (yes, cooks were coming out of the kitchen to peek), and the other guests at the restaurant. Believe me, you do NOT want your thong hanging out when my dear old dad has his camera on hand ;)

I'd have to say for most women it's probably because the panty lines. That's why I always wear thongs and g-strings, and I also think they're just more comfortable.

I wear them to feel sexy, and frankly I dont care about panty lines. I have every kind imaginable, full briefs, hip huggers , bikini, thongs, string thongs. I have most of them matching a bra or two so I have more then one set for casual days or sexy days.
To each their own I guess. Doesnt hurt having a guy look either! lol

First one I wore was for my DH- can't turn down a Christmas gift that follows an engagement ring.

Now- I'm hard pressed to find a "normal" pair of panties in my drawer. The ruling majority are thongs and "V-strings" because I find them more comfortable.
And the no-panty-line part is a nice perk.
Cotton is best too- comfyer and breathable and in all sorts of colors.
Though most of mine are black or dark blue. *shrugs*

I agree! (About the thong, not your dad.) :D I am offended aesthetically by chunks of butt floss riding up people's ass cracks waving at anyone with the misfortune to look.

My preference is low rise bikini briefs. Not that you cared. ;)

my ex just like them she had over 70 differents one!!! everytime we went some where we would be buying them. She also has these one that are kinda like little shorts and those are damn sexy because she had a great ass and i loved the ass in them!

But now all i can do is think about it lol!!! this sucks

hhmm...... hhhmmmmmm.....

my theory on 'thongs'.....

'if you HAVE to have material creeping up into your butt-crack, make it the least amount possible!'

:D

that's my preference too. I find it comfy and yet I dont have panty lines from them for that matter.

boy shorts. most comfortable thing on the planet & no panty lines. and they never ride up into the crack of your butt.

Thongs are comfortable for me. Also, if they fit just right, and I hit a rough road, they rub in all the right places while I'm driving during the day.

Its like a constant massage with no hands. ;P

I only wear them when I don't want a panty line. Otherwise, I like boy shorts or boy's underwear.

Many of the ladies who responded to this thread referred to comfort as a reason for wearing thongs.

I can understand wanting no panty lines or wanting to feel sexy, but COMFORT???

What's comfortable about having a thong riding up between your cheeks? Yes, I know it may feel sexy, but how can it be comfortable??

As a world-champion Visible Panty Line spotter, I can tell you that under tight jeans and pants thongs leave lines too. The lines are just in a different place.

Maybe you should try it. I bet you'll be surprised.

Why? Mostly cause wearing them makes me feel sexy and I enjoy that. I only buy 'sets'...bras and panties that match and sometimes a thong is all that is available. It's not my only choice...but if they fit just right they are very comfortable...you hardly know they are there...why bother?...cause a 'lady' wears panties with a skirt to work..or this lady does.

But is it for men to look...God no! They don't show ...showing is just tacky....but I will admit it's thrilling sometimes for a certain man to know that's what I'm wearing under my conservative clothes... for a man to see me all dressed up and know that's what he's going to see later ;)

I always thought the thong thing would be terribly uncomfortable - but my daughters talked me into buying a pair and they are actually quite comfortable. I like to wear a thong under a long flowing skirt. You ass just feels so good and 'free'!

Specially if its a pettable material or a silky one.

i just think they are comfy, but that's just me. It's either that or none at all.

Personally, I prefer g-strings, and it's NOT to impress/attract any man. It's to avoid panty lines and because - believe it or not - they are actually pretty comfortable. And why is it that guys always think that we do everything to impress for them? For most of us, our world does not revolve around attracting you.

i've begun wearing both in the last few weeks. They don't show. i wear them because he knows i am...because he likes to think of me wearing them. It turns him on. Actually, that's only why i started wearing them. i have been discovering myself more as a woman, and i find that they make me feel so durn sexy :D

As long as the thong isn't too tight, they don't really get shoved up your ass and stay there. You can't even feel them if they fit right. I dance all the time and whenever I'm dancing I have to wear a thong because with all the movement, boyshorts and bikini cut underwear get shoved up there too. Thongs are just easier. Yeah, you can see thong panty lines too, but the lines from thongs are a lot less noticeable than the other kind. Also, I try to wear the thongs that are "invisible" under clothes. I wear skirts a lot too, so I have to wear something underneath (except for a special reason ;) ).
