Words it pleases you to use

My favourite way to use won't is as part of "Shan't. Won't." in a snarky response.

Onomatopoeia is also great.

It was end of year English exams on Monday, and one of my students answered a word formation question (root word 'adventure', expected answer 'adventurous') with 'adventuresque'. Wrong, of course, but I'm appropriating it...

“Bollocks!”

A fine word of great depth and feeling. The last time my dear departed Gran gave me a thick ear was when I inadvertently let slip a loud, "bollocks!" when I dropped and broke a glass in her kitchen. I was 17 at the time.

Exactly so. And not too rude or obscene. These days especially. Just a good, rich, expletive.
