writing for male v. female

I second that, Ann,

But as to your title, why do I see 'slut' on T shirts? Isn't this 're-appropriation'?

sex w/o being a slut

It is changing, thankfully. I salute all our little 20 something donna juanitas out there having sex when and how they want it without worrying what is being thought about them.

I was somewhat being tongue-in-cheek (a dangerous phrase on these boards!). I'm all for reappropriation. The words have the value and meaning society assigns them. --But I can't get anyone to print a CUNT t-shirt for me.

Until you get to that age Mab and into those circumstances when it becomes reality. Trust me.

That's a very insightful way of looking at it. You know, I've suspected something like that for a long time, but I could never quite put my finger on it.

Of course all generalities are false, but I think the basic male erotic fantasy is that any woman will become a nymphomaniac in his presence. I think your description is a very succinct way of summing up the basic female fantasy. ---dr.M.
First of all, receiving a compliment from Dr. M. gives me goosbumps. Thank you kindly, Your Ecstacy.

Now to the point: In a way, the female fantasy is the reverse of the male. A woman needs permission (or an excuse) to turn herself into a nymphomaniac. It can take a number of forms.

Most of my stories use a wife's duty to her husband. It applies to my everyday life. "Of course, I would never do this for myself but I have to go nuts in order to satisfy his needs." It's a tough job but someone has to do it.

On the other hand, permission can be a turn-off at times. "To Hell with what anyone thinks. I can fuck whomever and whenever I damn well please!"

I think we need it both ways. Sometimes we need to be excused from the rules and other times we need to defy them.

Tsk, Tsk Pure -- Everyone is entitled to their opinions -- and you know what they say about opinions.....

I think we all agree that sex, whether you are a female or male, is enjoyed by all, whether it's a fuck-me story or a romantic one. When I am in the mood for something hot, sexy and nasty, you won't find me reading any Mother Goose books....

In the free online market everything is up for grabs, lots of different readers enjoying, however in the buying market IMHO, women will buy a book online, especially erotica, where as generally men will not.

So, a commercial site aimed at male READERS (not VIEWERS) is a long shot?

Purely my simple-minded theory, but I could see men maybe whipping out their credit cards for some type of nominal annual fee or monthly fee, were is not for all the free porn writing already offered on the internet.

Also, when referring to commercial sites you might mean free, but with advertisers like at literotica. I think the advertisers here must get a certain percentage of a click through rate. I also bet it is more male verses female here that will click through to "view" pictures ect.

Therein lies another half-assed theory of mine. Put porn pictures on that male porn story site and you up your chances of visits by men considerably.

I really don't understand this one. Are you saying that men don't buy erotic books or that they do so primarily in bookstores?

I'd say when men buy a book, if they do, of erotica or porn and I would say porn generally for men, they are more likely to pick it up in a book store.

And, they are more unlikely to return for more, even if they like it than women.

I think it has alot to do with the effort it takes to buy online and waiting period it takes, plus the fact that the internet freely offers alot of the types of porn stories, men enjoy reading already.

I usually find my ertoic books in Barnes and Noble. I'm not bashful about taking them to the counter.

Buying at a bookstore has more of a "shopping" aspect for me. I can look at a whole bunch of books, skim a few pages and pick out the ones that look interesting.

I could do some of that online but it feels tedious.
