Writing goals for 2007

well i suppose i should set it as my goal to write those three papers i still need to write, and my thesis.

after that, i'd like to come up with stories for the various competitions, and i want to finish my "kampf des willens" series, and translate it into english.

and maybe write some more non-lit stuff again.

that would be awesome Lauren... that was my goal when I started Survivor, too! :cathappy:
If I can do it, it will feel to me the same as if I'd won the thing with a 1000 stories. :D

Oh please tell me that's not how many I'm going to need. :p

*to write my academic stuff a bit better
*to try other genres such as non fiction

Here's hoping your competition won't be too incredibly fierce, Crim! :rose: I think the top winner this year will only have around 250ish stories... I've got close to 200... that's not near as high as past years, I think...

Thanks. :rose: I think the year before it was 500 or more.

To write again would be good. But on a more concrete level, I'd really like to finish the editing/rewriting of a story that I wrote a year ago. It's a good piece, and it deserves the light of day.

I will finish my thesis before June 2007, and I will have a clean first draft of my dissertation done by the end of 2007.

I was looking at the Survivor contest. There's no way I could compete with those guys but I'm thinking about trying to publish a new story in a new category every month. My own Survivor Jr. contest.

You can still go ahead and sign up. If nothing else, you could finish in the top 15 and get a gift certificate. :)

Yeah, you should still sign up. If you get a new story out each month in a different category, and with a little bit of luck with immunities, you might do well enough for a gift certificate. And the most important thing is to put yourself up for the challenge. :)

Get more organized & motivated.
Write more.
Publish more.
Improve writing techniques.
Finish the NaNo novel.
Start Novel #2.
Finish and sell the Trilogy.

I will not chicken out before clicking on the submit button.

Winning a lit contest (either monthly or actual contest) and crack the top 50 in at least one category.

Oh, and I would like another story get more than 100 votes! (only my two olddest stories have passed that point)

My main writing goal is to write a Novella and submit it to Phaze. Oh, and to participate in the next NaNo.

I'm going to finish the two stories that I started working on late this year. Not sure how long it's going to take, since I don't really plan out the length of my stories in concrete terms.

Ditto. Although I might just be co-authoring in some categories.

Apart from that I intend to start that damn novel that is more or less finished in my head for years, since it might be a tad difficult to read otherwise and translate and revamp another one. Time and clarity permitting, I might even resume writing on my philosophical shit.

The major challenge for 2007 for me seems to be not to forget that there is a life and duties besides writing, and that some of my customers might not be overly impressed if I hand in yet another part of an elaborate story instead of the product they are paying for....

If you're planning to write a story for every category of Lit, you should sign up for Survivor! It will keep you focused, give you that little bit of extra incentive, and you may very well get some sort of prize out of it. Check out this thread. :D

Well, I cracked the top 50! Twice as a matter of fact. So I suppose I just got to win a contest now. Thanks to the voters!

Finish this series before the readers mutiny. *sigh*

Really I'm not blocked....no really. Well, at least it sounded good.

2007 objectives.

1. Stop getting distracted whilst writing
2. Ermmmm....
3. Is that you're dog on the grass over there???
4. Wow, cool site...
5. Hey, porn..................

;)

Finish everything in draft, submit it and then quit-oh yeah, and do one thread in AH in about a month if I remember
