Some people are afraid of doctors and medicine. "If I go to the hospital it means I am sick. If I don't go, I am not sick."

Fear and stupidity is behind "vaccine hesitancy".

Last thing the left wants is an investigation into Fauci and his past mistakes, and how he might have facilitated the deaths of tens of thousands of Americans. Even CNN is jumping on Fauci's actions in this cover-up of the origins of the CCP Virus.
 
How stupid can RightGuide get? Any investigation will be of Trump's idiocy, not Fauci's.

Fauci was working FOR Trump, and taking direction from Trump. He can always claim he was following Trump's directions.

Not that that worked at Nuremberg...

We Brits were more nuanced. We had a panel of scientific experts who disagreed with each other in private and public. With hindsight, at least one of them was right. Unfortunately at the time, we didn't know which one (or ones) had the right advice.

The only thing they all agreed about was that President Trump's pronouncements were absolute bullshit.

I'm just glad I got my vaccine shots and the free tracking microchip that everyone got with it. And they kept all the syringes so they could harvest our DNA and clone a race of master warriors, too, so I get to live in perpetuity. :rolleyes:

Fauci was off on his own working his ass off to cover up his culpability in the creation of the monster. His position at NIH was such that he was untouchable by the president, any president. He is a civil service employee, not an appointee. He as one member of the Wuhan Flu (Covid-19) Task Force and his prominence was press created.

And what pronouncements were they? Don't close the schools? Don't shut down the economy? About the only pronouncement he made that was off base was the one about it being no worse than the flu.

Trump has survived every one of the Democrat investigations he's been subjected to, even those using manufactured "evidence." Fauci, on the other hand, won't survive any serious scrutiny.

I've seen a couple of polls recently that indicate that the US population is in favor of taking action against China over the release/escape of the disease from the lab. OK, I can understand the sentiment but to me the focus is misguided. After all, that research was done with the full consent(?) and funding of the US taxpayer. It seems to me that the focus of our anger should be directed more towards DC than towards China. While China did take advantage of a situation, NIH was the enabler.

Which brings me to the incredible naivete' of scientists, most particularly those practicing in the Life Science field. Their intense focus on 'science for science's' sake along with the notion that all of their 'comrades' are in the field for the betterment of man kind lead them to make some extraordinarily poor decisions. Funding dangerous research undertaken by an adversary (if not an out and out enemy) is not the act of individuals that have taken into consideration all of the possible consequences. The fact that that research was taking place in a sub-standard facility makes those decisions even more damning.

Then there is the question of whether this type of research should be undertaken to begin with. Gene editing has progressed to the point where it is more of a technical undertaking as opposed to a scientific task. Once the targeted gene is identified the editing may take place in a matter of hours. Now we have a new pathogen that might potentially be loosed on the world and as recent experience has show the creation and deployment of a vaccine will take well over a year. Millions and millions infected with millions dead. The point of most of this research is to determine what the new pathogen might do and to consider vaccines to counter said pathogen. Obviously there is something wrong with the current research model. Perhaps consideration of what the vaccine would look like, and prepare said vaccine, BEFORE the new pathogen is created should be the model. I don't look forward to any such changes in the near future.

And the other 180 countries that did not contribute, knew nothing about it, and are now heavily affected need to be compensated. Pay up CCP!

They obeyed their oath, they didn't impeach because their was no constitutional evidence presented either time. Democrats failed in their first two attempts but came back with their gangster nuclear option and prevailed.
