G'day all you litsters.

I have a technical question of the Windows / Yahoo Messenger variety. Normally I can do my own tech support but this one has me stumped.

I have two computers I use YIM on. Both run on a Winblows, sorry Windows platform. I have archived messages on both computers. My question is there anyway I can merge the two archived messages onto one computer, or am I doomed having to rename one message archive file in order to read the other one?

Thanks in advance

I honestly don't think you can merge the two. You're getting seperate messages on either comp. Just like loading documents. At least I have never been able to. Even on my cell. It won't hold a conversation you're having on one on the other. I don't think it's possible, babe.

I don't think you can merge them into one, each sits on a different hardrives.

WOW.. if all that's true, that's scary!
I simply use it as an offline reader, never really looked into any of the other aspects of it, however if I had any doubts about my security I would store my archives in a locked folder.

  Hi Peg :D

Just make a notepad file and cut and paste them in there. I wouldnt leave that in the archive bin for long. If you find yourself without web access for more than 90 days (i think) your stuff is gone. Use your archive reader to open them up and cut and paste.

Fairly sure if you deselect the "Automatically Delete Files Older Than" option you can store them indefinitely. Offline for more than 90 days.

Well, the messages are basically saved as *.txt files. You could save them to a floppy disk and load them to the other computer from the disk.

Thank you all for your wonderful help. I've got a few more ideas, and a couple of links, so I'll try a few out and see what happens. I'll keep you all posted :)
