Thank you for taking valuable time out of your day to review my reaction to LL's ass and her comments about my "playful jibe" at CL. (Next time I am kidding around, I will try to make it more obvious). If you had taken the time to read further on, (as I'm sure you did since you wouldn't rush to judgement until you had all the facts, would you?), you would have seen would no real misogonistic intent. Insofar as my seeing an inconsistency in LL's posting a figure of her rear end for all to see, I personally loved it. As a beautiful part of the female anatomy, it was breathtaking. If it had only been one instance, I could understand your believing it had been taken out of context. I can be outrageous at times, and in this instance, I was definitely going for shock value and a good laugh (as well as a memorable re-entrance). Not wanting my post to be centered solely upon "my ass's" return, I came up with the post and quiz that followed in order to allow others to share their views about this particular body part. Having observed the onslaught of serious/shit-slinging threads lately, I thought that a "fun" thread was in order.
As for the picture itself, in comparison to the other pictures that I have seen posted on this site in the amateur sections, you have to admit that mine is quite tame and practically demure by those standards. I believe it to be within the bounds of being tastefully done, and am not ashamed of it in the least. This is not far from what you would have seen of me in my thong bikini last summer on a beach in Florida. I am highly comfortable with my sexuality and sensuality, and have no qualms about displaying what I believe to be a flattering and tasteful picture of a female form. Any pictures that I would ever consider submitting in the future would be as equally tasteful.

"Breathtaking" is hardly a word that one would use to describe a picture that is deemed offensive or disrespectful. I see it more as a word that one would use to describe art or something of similar beauty. The only inconsistency that I recognize here is that you are, on one count, claiming that I have somehow shown "disrespect" for my gender, and then on the flip side, claiming that my picture was "breathtaking" and personally "loved" by you.

I believe it to be within the bounds of being tastefully done, and am not ashamed of it in the least. This is not far from what you would have seen of me in my thong bikini last summer on a beach in Florida. I am highly comfortable with my sexuality and sensuality, and have no qualms about displaying what I believe to be a flattering and tasteful picture of a female form. Any pictures that I would ever consider submitting in the future would be as equally tasteful.
I have not received a single "Hey nice ass...wanna fuck?" email as a result of this (as I'm sure many of the women who post pics here do--even as Jade has disclosed this to me), nor did I expect to receive such disrespectful letters. I have only received emails from friends telling me what a fantastic and entertaining thread this has been.
Mr. Blue, are you of the mindset that a woman who displays her body "for all to see" is automatically deserving of disrespect and is committing a disservice to her gender? That is what you seem to be implying in your first post. But then in your next post you say:

"Breathtaking" is hardly a word that one would use to describe a picture that is deemed offensive or disrespectful. The only inconsistency that I recognize here is that you are, on one count, claiming that I have somehow shown "disrespect" for my gender, and then on the flip side, claiming that my picture was "breathtaking" and personally "loved" by you.

In conclusion (thank god...because I know that my ability to dissect and argue had diminished greatly about half way through this long-ASS post), I fail to see how there is any inconsistency on my part between posting a nice, tastefully-done picture of my posterior on an erotica site and my not appreciating to be referred to as a "bitch" merely because I am a female.

You just described not only my reaction to his posting here to LL, but also why the little hairs on the back of my neck stood up when Blue made similar comments about women playing games and not understanding the seriousness of a situation on another thread of someone who asked the board for help. It is as if only HE, a stable and unemotional male, could give valid advice, but certainly not females who are only interested in the soap box aspect of a problem. Lately, Blue has been making my skin crawl.
As for his comments on LL's showing her ass- unbelievable. Does that mean that any of us who have posted pix are no longer worthy because we dared to show ourselves to the outside world? What if we just did it for fun, to be different for a change? Does that make us any less of the same person the day the pix were posted compared to the day before? Blue should be living in the early 1900's where he'd be more comfortable with the role of women in society. I think divorce lawyer is the perfect career for him and he shouldn't change.

One other thing, though. Just because somene holds a different point of view than you do does not make you right and them wrong. I try to treat others with a different point of view than mine, with respect. I try not to condescend to them or mock them for their views. Instead, I try to see it from where they are coming.
Sometimes, I get the feeling that if we are not all equally accepting of what goes on here that we are attacked. I try not to do that. Remember, all I did was ask a simple question. I had earlier acknowledged my error and NEVER once said that my question to Ms.LL had anything to do with justifying it. I just felt that it was strange to me that Ms. LL could seem like such a feminist at one point and act as she did in this thread. I now understand. I also continue to understand that my earlier "bitch" quip was inappropriate.
Many thanks to all my patient and eloquent teachers. As I said, I came here to learn and grow. I expect that I may be challenged for some of my positions. I just don't like to be attacked. Every question that I ask is NOT a criticism. My questions are requests for information!

Honestly, Cheyenne, I didn't think his comment on that particular subject was worth mentioning - it's such a fantastically broad generalization that he almost refrained from making. From what I know about people who run porn websites, the "lifestyle" involves staying up late at night bitching and moaning about programming errors and rubbing your eyes because you've been sitting in front of the computer too long. If there's a glamorous or sleazy or sexy side to it, someone PLEASE tell me where I can find it - cause I'm sure as hell missing out.
And I'm always pleased when someone thinks I'm making a living from my little website - it definitely gives me a feeling of accomplishment. If only it were true I wouldn't be thinking about heading off to my day job here in a little while.
As for the rest of it, I had thought that maybe Flamingo's age had something to do with his attitudes toward women - but I sure as hell didn't want to bring up that subject. But given his age, I'm sure Flamingo's lived thru times when the presence of a strong woman was unwelcome and unacceptable in many situations. And I'm sure that if he's been in the legal profession all his adult life he's been in many situations where the opinions of women have been discounted purely because they are women - and no one had thought twice about it at the time. That's not a knock against him, it's just a fact that it hasn't been too long since that was the prevalent opinion within the professional world in this country.
I was very glad to see that four strong-willed, independent-minded women had also picked up on the tendencies I had seen in Flamingo's posts. I had seen Cheyenne's discussion with him on similar terms on another thread, and I was sure that others were thinking the same way. I'm still a little disappointed to see him dismissing sexism as a "different point of view" - I've always enjoyed the way he can apolozige by saying "I'm sorry, but..." and then do his best to make his apology more or less meaningless. That's what makes this so much fun.
Unfortunately it's time for me to head off to my day job. More thoughts on the subject are in my head, I just don't have the time now to share...
